some japanese comments were saying that the voice and art doesnt fit and that "it smells like chainsaw man" and I was scared because if the japanese reception (however dumb their critics maybe) doesnt find it good enough we may never get a season 2 but imma let science saru cook and let their cooking do the talking
I was confused reading some Japanese comments on the trailers bc I felt like the voices fit pretty well? Im not Japanese so maybe there are nuances that im missing in the voice acting, but the art looks amazing and it doesn’t seem like csm to me, like other people were saying it reminds me more of mp100 with the colors and wackiness (and I love mp100 so I’m psyched either way!)
What do they even want? Most complaints I saw about Chainsaw Man was that it wasn't as stylized as intensely as the manga (it was still stylized though, just more cinematic). Dandadan looks *incredibly* stylized, and it looks like the manga?? People want to complain just to complain.
The problem is, they have the absolute power, it doesn't matter if an anime is loved and selled a lot worldwide, if they don't like it, the project may end badly (obvious ex: CSM and the exclusion of the previous director)@@windego64
The voices are spot on. The Japanese audience just loves seasonal slop where every woman sounds like she’s starring in a hentai production, either of the high pitched type or the mommy type.
The manga is one of my current top series. It has everything you would want from a next gen manga. - great art - great characters - great story - great build up - great development - great pacing The only thing I need in live next is an anime adaptation of Sakamoto days .
I think that Dandadan's success will actually lead to a situation where other off-the-wall manga and light novels (Gachiakuta, Sabikui Bisco [CONFIRMED], Soara and the House of Monsters, and Tsugumi Project) can be given their chance to shine. The only issue I have is that there isn't yet an anime for Psyren. It would have been massive if given the chance, especially in a post-Chainsaw Man and Fullmetal Alchemist world.
Really hope the season is long-ish, REALLY looking forward to the Haunted House/Evil Eye arc and the Space Globalists arc, ESPECIALLY the latter, Okarun's return in those chapters gave me Naruto's return vibes, especially when waiting week by week
Just looked at the trailer, and tbh, I kinda get why ppl are a little concerned: the trailer animation is… *off* to say the least. Idk how to explain it, it doesn’t seem to have the same *”pop”* that the manga panels have, but it def has it’s own uniqueness. Like yeah, the animation itself is good in the trailer, and the colors are well and vibrant, but the trailer is definitely a new feel to the take of Dan da Dan, and tbh, I’m just pumped for when we get to see the 1st ep, and I’m just hoping that it hype, so I wanna see them cook, bcs that’s what this manga deserves, but rn, let’s see what is in store.
@@heilamwether8911I always try to give different styles a fair chance to impress me. As a manga reader, I think this style captures the feel of manga (still a bit early to judge, though). Besides, Science Saru has a good track record so imma let them cook.
@@JCokoro ye, I feel that, rn, I haven’t read up to current chapter since I’m letting myself fall behind a bit to allow chapters to come out, but I’m only like 4 chapters behind, and when looking at the trailer, it almost lacks the pop of the panel that you get used to, especially around the weird worm/evil eyes arc.
@@kaimanthelizardwizard1248 tbh, I also feel the same. I don’t judge something most of the time until I see what the production is cooking. But here, I’m just kinda voicing what I feel about the whole thing, b/c a lot of other ppl also feel the same, and as a avid reader who loves Dan da Dan, I really just want it to have a good adaptation, since unlike my feelings for other stuff (especially JJK.) I really just want this manga to be done justice.
At this point, anything from Jump is considered a must read or watch. What is there to genuinely like about Dandadan? What makes it actually worth your time? I bet y'all think Sakamoto Days and Kagurabachi are worth the hype as well.
i am caught up with the Manga i am enjoying it but the community has had one complaint is the story has no direction. i don't know if this will serve to help the show or not.
I think it has some direction, the bits at the end of the Space Globalists arc seem to be setting up something BIG and there's plenty that Yukinobu Tatsu introduced at one point and came up later that I was blown away by, to the point where I think they have an idea of how they want Dandadan to end
I've been a big fan since chapter 30, I was very afraid that Dandadan would get a poor adaptation, but when I saw the trailer I was already sure Dandadan will be a huge hit and I think it may surpass the popularity of chainsaw man
Everything looks great, my only concern is how they’ll deal with the fan service. Obviously this isn’t no ecchi but it does sometimes get close, won’t be shocked if they remove the infamous hot springs scene in the manga to appeal western viewers.
@@danielpintard7382 first chapter isnt really a fanservice; it was perfectly normal in that situation. if anything, in reality, they'd probably just leave Momo naked instead of bothering with underwear
Heavenly Delusion had an actual r@pe scene (toned down compared to manga, but still), and it was distributed by Disney of all platforms, so i dont think they'll have a problem with western audiences watching a scene where, while getting close, that thing doesn't get to happen.
I feel like it could be 12 episodes and could get up to the end of the evil eye arc. with the going rate of 3.5 chapters per episode most anime are doing, thats about where 12 episodes should get.
I dropped it after a while because I got too tired with all the love triangle and NTRbait and too many characters getting introduced, felt too directionless for me. Might give the anime a shot though
I think a good comp for Dandadan is Mob Psycho. If it can achieve the level of popularity of Mob Psycho, then I would be pleased. I think the first few episodes will be a turn off for many due to some of the content. I don't see it being a mega hit like Demon Slayer, JJK, AOT, etc. In fact, I don't see it being as popular as a MHA or CSM.
I want to be proven wrong, but I disagree. People are going to watch, enjoy, and talk about Dandadan, but it is not going to take over the anime scene. Like my beloved Dr. Stone, it's going to be overshadowed as it goes on by other shonen that are weaker, yet have more hype behind them.
Please Read Innocent by Shinichi Sakamoto, he's the same guy who wrote the climber. Please give it a try it has some of the best art and character development in manga 1 1
