As a black man ( 13 year old ), we dont claim him. Ik I'm still young and I'm just turning 14 in november but I know enough to state my opinion. There is NO such thing as bad hair or good hair. Obviously the definition of bad hair is supposed to be dirt hair not based on hair types. All natural hair is beautiful. And there is nothing wrong with wearing a weave. I have 3 sisters and my oldest sister has rocked them dreads since she was 5 and now she entered 19 years old. She has them because she likes them. On the other hand, my other 2 sisters stay natural, wear weaves and braid they're hair! WHY? Because they like it! So stop trying to be wise and trying to tell women how they're hair is supposed to be cuz that's one of the reasons why black women think poorly of men! 1. Weaves are a protective style 2. Braids are a protective style 3. NONE of that matters cuz they can do whatever they want with they're hair! 4. Being darkskin NOT a bad thing. Not that I can relate cuz I've been on the "lightskin side ". But black IS BLACK and all these skin labels are useless cuz they put other black people in a place that makes them think they are shit. I'm actually a foreigner in Qatar and I'm originally from Mozambique and South Africa. My story: I used to work at this upscale club in Tampa. It was ran by white men. They’re clientele used to fetishized me because I was one of the few black women there. I always wore LONG weaves and they would call me Pocahontas. One day, I got my hair cut short and styled really nicely at a salon and decided I would go in with my natural hair. When I was in the dressing room, the manager came and told me that I couldn’t work with my hair like it was. I was shocked because I knew my hair looked good (better than the girls with their hair long and straight). I told them that I left my wig at home and they told me to go home and get it so I could work. I told them if I leave I’m not coming all the way back and they didn’t care so I left and never went back there again.

I am African, true to my roots. Natural hair, dark skinned, full lips, nose all the things he mentioned. I do not wear make up and my God the discrimination I face from black men is unbelievable. I grew up being called ugly and even today I still get called that. Black Men every where prefer light skinned women, it has got nothing to do with what we wear or put on our bodies. I have a close dark skinned male friend and he never fails to remind me how he only wants light skinned girls. So most black men just have to accept they hate their themselves and wish they weren't black.
