“I fear he may even rival some of the ancient Sith. He is already more of a force than a living thing, a hole in the Force that threatens to draw everything into it” - Kreia
This is extremely sad. Extremely tragic. Revan wanted the best. He didn't want this. Ever. He thought it was right choice. It was for a time. We can't hold him completely responsible. May the Force be with you too
Yeah we can't hold him completely responsible but his still bares the brunt of the blame. His actions regardless of intentions caused a lot of death and destruction.
I say the blame is not on reven. It lies on the republic and jedi console. If you know the story of Reven, both the systems were mared in debate and could nor would not act. Jedi being elevated to role of galactic police lost their way of being guardians while reven's faction felt needed to be addressed. The action caused the mass generator being activated but the path set was the only one available. Leaders of the republic and console are responsible
Revan is also a big part of the reason Kreia had the means at her disposal to attempt killing the force. Without the force wound at Malachor, she'd have had a much harder time trying to set up her grand plan.
I've said it once and I'll say it again, If Darth Nihilus was ever introduced into live action he would be as iconic as Darth Vader in pop culture, And I stand by that
I have a theory. Nihilus was likely a Jedi knight that couldn't do what Metra Surik did. He couldn't or wouldn't cut himself off from the Force and it played a big role in turning him into what he became.
I've said it before in other videos detailing him, so I'll say it here. They should do a Star Wars movie about a farmer who discovers the force, is trained to become a hero, saves his planet, big celebration, and makes him really likeable. At the end of the movie, a shadow is cast over the planet, and the mass shadow generator, fires, destroying the planet ,as the credits begin, we hear this otherworldly, almost demonic scream filled with an unimaginable amount of pain. Make him a truly tragic character whose happy ending is robbed from him.
Revan did not know Nihlus even existed. If Revan was aware, his sith instincts would have sought Nihlus out to either control or destroy him as this was the way of the Sith.
reason why he wasn't aware is because at the time of those events he was already in prisoned by emperor valkyrion so we had no idea any of this was going on until metra sirek freed him from his imprisonment and brought him up to date of what's been going on in the galaxy in his absence
Velkoryon and Revan were around the same time period as nihilus, but they were in the unknown regions so nihilus never sensed them nor did they, but im pretty sure if surik hadnt stopped nihilus, there would be a showdown between revan velkoryon and nihilus between them 3, like a mexican standoff , and i fear Revan would be the first to fall and the battle would be between Velkoryon and nihilus who would be the only two with the same power level......... andd if i was way later on, Nihilus would be the last one standing since his scaling was unlimited unlike velkoryon or revan. They had to stop him fast or it was GG well played.
To be fair although the actions of Revan and Surik, were responsible for creating Nihilus and the death and destruction that use of the shadow generator caused. However, there was no way they could have anticipated just how much of a destructive impact on both the world and the force, it would have. A lesson that would be learnt in use of it, that a massed shadow generator would never be used again as a weapon of war, throughout the rest of star wars recorded legends history.
They should make a movie services all about Revan. You could have a 3 part series all about the Mandalorian wars. Then you could have a 3-6 part series depicting the events of KOTOR 1
Totally, but we need a director who's dedicated to the Star Wars and willing to follow everything to the script. Not willing to f up one of the greatest characters ever made in Star Wars which Disney has notoriously done. Edit: But I Agree with the movie layout and capturing his story like that. It could also stem out to Meetra in Kotor 2. Another great game and story.
I don't know a huge amount about it, so maybe this is already explained. But is there a reason both of Darth Treya's apprentices/disciples are so closely linked with pain? It could be just a coincidence, given the fact that its such a strong part of the dark side. But Sion was always in pain, and it is basically what let him live even though his body should have died and grow more powerful (kinda like Vader). Nihilis was also always in pain due to his constant hunger for energy, so much so that the opposite happened and his body was destroyed leaving only the spirit.
Algonquin lore; Nihilus has the Windigo curse. Always hungry. Eating brings strength; more strength more hunger. Never ending, always worsening. Today is always the worse day of your life- Office Space
"Find balance between them(light and dark)" And yet his mind and body split in two when he couldn't reconcile the two. There is no balance between light and dark, and revan never reached it.
@@drakethesnek6429 Who conjured dark side storms strong enough to destroy every vehicle Thrawn landed when attempting to attack the rebels. He wasn't just a light side entity. He was of the force in all it's aspects.
No he didn’t intend Nihilus to happen He was like Oppenheimer at the Atomic Bomb, developing a weapon to end a war, and save as many lives as possible He intended to use the Mass Shadow Generator to be a step closer to end the Mandalorian War He didn’t intend to create the Exile, or Nihilus by creating wounds in the Force, from the unnatural suffering and levels of death caused by the Mass Shadow Generator But it did Revan did create Darth Nihilus Although also the Exile to counter him
@@christophersanchez7731 Oppenheimer new exactly what he was creating and that when he did, the "Geni would be out of the bottle" so to speak. In other words (in Oppenheimers case) firstly, he knew EXACTLY what he was creating. And secondly, that there was every chance of a someone, ANYONE getting hold of his "creation" and using on say, the U.S? And, being a Scientist, he would have known full well that "if I could succeed in performing this experiment, OTHER'S WILL" ... and what then? "The consequences of the unintended kind" are no good thinking about, after the fact!!
One of the most horrific fates to befall someone in the Star wars universe. Not a being of hatred, though there is plenty of that. Not a being of pain, despite the agony. But of pure, insatiable hunger, only temporarily satisfied by the life force of others. The worst part is he's not some mindless being wandering the cosmos, but someone who can be communicated with, make decisions, be trained in the force. I didn't know a lot of this, or at least the extent of it.
Fantastic work!!! I am so incredibly glad you returned to Nihilus. Your videos on him were some of your most interesting and I myself have had a hole in my chest for more Nihilus content of yours. I'm sure some others could say the same.
I think Revan learned an important lesson that day. For every action there is an equal or an "accidentally creating a cosmic horror that will cause HP lovecraft to bust an ethereal nut" reaction.
I personally believe that the mass shadow generator is up there with the thought bomb in terms of how inhumane it is because it did not discriminate in who it killed
Raven might have inadvertently created three monsters, but he worked with the hand he was dealt with, fighting Vishiat. After all, he was the one who started the Mandalorian on the war path, to weaken the know galaxy.
I love how we're all coming to Revan's aid even though we don't even need to. He's not saying Revan was evil, just that his good intentions paved the road to hell for many. But we all also already know he did what was needed because the Jedi council were too weak to do it, and he then found his way back and became the greatest force user ever in my opinion.
There’s always a cost for using a weapon like that; it always creates an entity in pain, and that pain reverberates out at anything in the path of that entity. Nihilus is the Godzilla of Star Wars, in the sense they’re both beings created by super weapons, and they’re the culminations of sins.
People always making those Nihilus vs Revan fights holds some real weight now. instead of just being a cool match up, for Revan it's destroying the monster he created and for Nihilus it's destroying(or in this case consuming) the man who took everything from him.
Also apparently the creator of Darth Nihilus has said that Revan would EASILY beat Nihilus in a one on one fight so I would be very intrigued to see that
@@LauklynGorena I think that kinda goes without saying. Nihilus, while obviously a good duelist, sorta just carries a lightsaber as a back up tool but mostly relies on the force. He's like Palpatine, mostly a force user, but in this case a much less proficient duelist. Revan would definitely win.
I want to hear the whole story of darth nilus and find out what happened to him. I’m sure he was force sensitive and the pain overwhelmed him to the point he became walking death. A wound in the force sounds very scary.
I always wondered why the destruction of Alderan, and even more the trillions of lives lost in the Vong invastion, did not cause the same kind of sentient wound in the force.
Revan is literally the most important character in star wars history. He influenced Darth Bane towards the rule of two..he created nihilus...bc he influenced Darth bane, he also influenced the events of Ruusan (the thought bomb) and thus the reformation. As such he indirectly influenced the demilitarization, complacency, and downfall of the Jedi. I rest my case
Oh and that level of force proficiency with the dark and light side that everybody is so hyped up that Anakin reached, revan did it long time ago. Once his mask was returned to him on dromund kass he was like a goddamn bendu.
Metra Surik destroyed what was left on him on his ship. He was tricked into traveling to a dead world convinced all remaining jedi had gone there. When he tried to feed on Surik her wound from the Mass Shadow Generator caused it to backfire also his Apprentice helped take him down.
I need more proof than speculation than Nihilus was an innocent man. I think he was a jedi or force sensitive trooper/native than not one. As far as we know the only other victim similar to himself was a trained jedi knight. But we don't know who Nihilus was... just who he became. Another monstrosity was created by a pointless war concocted by the ancient sith.
ye well it was revans fault, but at the same time no, since he created that monster and exile his counterpart. would it be only nihilus with no other wound in the force to stop him, the galaxy was gone, no anakin, no plguise, no sidious. Just a galaxy absent of life.
Revan was absolutely right to activate the mass shadow generator, the Mandolarians would of killed and pillaged the residents on Malachor 5 had they won anyways, regardless the man who would become Nihilus had no real future at that point, but The Revanist should of absolutely stayed to ensure either everyone was dead as to either tend to the wounded or in Nihilus' case put him out of his misery, or to see to tending the wound, and newly created dark side nexus that formed on Malachor and in which case they'd still mercy kill Nihilus.
Because unlike Alderaan some people survived the mass shadow generator so that wound could bind to someone unlike Alderaan in which everyone died in an instant.
Hey man I bought a sweatshirt from your link and I got a 2XL but it sent me a M/L. I went to contact support and left a email a while ago but still no reply. Wtf dude. Total scam :(
Hi, couple of question for yo the stupendous wave. is it known if the man was a Human or is this a theory or unkown, where was the sabrak that made the weapon at the time of the weapons acctivation and if he was at the location is it knowen what happend to him aftherward? for if he was at the planet and the specis of the man is unkown and the sabrack was never seen or heard from aigen i could see him beeing the wound in the force.
the sabrak who made it was bao dur if you play star wars knights of the old republic two you see him and talk to him while playing as mitra surik or however you spell her name
Someone make a Revan movie, cast Keanu Reeves, don't screw it up. As a fan a 3 hour movie is acceptable. Have Tarantino (duh, fight scenes and realism "where applicable") and Costner or someone better in a colab director/producer roll. Though, I can't think of a better yin to Quentin's yang to keep the movie true to form of what's expected out of a SW flick. Have a board of consultants plucked from Star Wars fan sites on social media to help interpret things for Costner lol. Also, make them sign an NDA. Make that R rated or PG13+ Star Wars movie we all want that shows the true power of the force. My 2cents. I think it could be good, very easy to screw up. Low floor high ceiling with this idea.
I swear, this whole Force Hunger thing with Nihilus, MUST HAVE some sort of connection or correlation to The Nameless and The Great Leveler. I wonder if Planet X has any relation to Malachor 5, or if it was adversely affect by what happened to Malachor 5? Is Darth Nihilus' mask still existent someplace within the galaxy, by the time of The OT and beyond? If it is, it would be quite the Sith artifact to find.
