There was a kill switch that clone died that he fought and killed. So many times had one invader was still able to move even with the suit turned off Silas I think!! But beating him was different than beating the emperor with your suit turned off
And that's EXACTLY what old Man Palpatine COULDN'T have, a FULL "FORCE" Anakin/Vader always "hanging around, on the scene" and "breathing down his neck."
Imagined him in a Grievous-esque body, but getting rid of even more of his biological parts, and with that midichlorians, would probably reduce his power too much
The clone wouldn’t of had the same force potential as the original body. Plus vader uses the pain and anger at Obi Wan’s inflicted wounds to fuel his dark side power so it wouldn’t be in line with the character. Also only palps knew of the knowledge of cloning and soul transfer and hid it from vader just as Plaguies hid certain knowledge of immortality from palps.
Honestly i would love to see a sequel of the white vader alternative storyline. Hell if disney would make it a series or movie i would seriously consider getting disney+ just for that!
I've heard this before and have always had a question about it. Even in canon novels, they have Vader having extra suits, and sitting, meditating outside of his suit. One comic shows him with his entire suit off. Also, Rogue One shows him in a bacta tank without his suit. So why can't he put the new, upgraded suit on instead of the old one?
It’s the fact that he had basically no chance of survival without his current suit, maybe a 5% chance but still extremely unlikely. He could have used the force; channeled his rage within the process but it’s very risky.
Sometimes there are those like us who can't feel anything except physical pain and misery which is the only thing that reminds us that we're still human.
When it comes to What if's and Darth Vader, I like the idea of Darth Vader becoming Anakin much earlier and being a good guy. For example the fan fiction series "Double Agent Vader." I really like the idea of Vader became a good guy and was working to take down the empire from within.
Maybe that is why he was never quite able to catch the rebels. He was doing just enough to appease the emperor. But Not enough to stop the downfall of the empire.
I mean, Vader could upgrade his suit, but it mostly depends on when he does it. I got a few ideas on what his suit could be like. -Keeping the original suit's life-support system and breathalyzer so that the new suit doesn't accidentally kill him on the spot. -Have the suit's life-support systems covered in protective plating so that it doesn't get damaged in battle. -Armored plating covering his entire arms, torso & lower legs (similar to a Mandalorian). -Said armored plating be composed of a light-weight metal alloy that's resistant to pretty much anything, including lightning. Jedi/Sith clothing being made of very durable fabric. -His iconic helmet & black cape (inside of cape being a dark gun-metal grey). -Dual Crimson Light Sabers (1 is his iconic Sith Lord saber and the other is Anakin's saber that he took from Luke). -His old Jedi Starfighter that he'd have ordered refurbished & modified up to Imperial standards so that he doesn't have to fly a Tie Fighter (Also because he missed flying his old starfighter). *Not important to Vader's new suit, but wanted to add it in just because* I'd add more ideas to it, but I think this is good enough.
The improved, upgraded suit doesn't have to be permanently comfortable, but it could have torture devices installed, which cause him on command pain. Those could help him to focus on the dark side.
It's a 70s movie. He appeared besides clumsy C-3PO, the original movie had another setting, no fancy fighting at all, storm troopers with impractical helmets, who most of the time missed their targets when shooting... The suit imagined today doesn't fit into the original fantasy. The famous scene with him stopping blaster fire with his hand wouldn't work. The franchise has jumped the shark long ago, including questionable theology. For lack of better words, it's a mind f.
I wonder if Palpatine was concerned about a cyborg like Vader being able to actually control the galaxy. Palpatine rules through fear but also admiration. Especially in the beginning.
Vader was basically a cripple . A powerful cripple , but still a cripple. Once a fighter has a weak spot it can be used against him. Sidious made sure that his force lightning would be Vader's undoing. What Sidious did not realise is push someone too far and they will take you to the grave with them. Anikan become Vader to save someone he loved. When Sidious was going to kill Luke it was a step to far and Vader made the ultimate sacrifice. Sidious just did not understand what a parent will do to protect their children. This was Sidious's weakness.
So he was afraid of dying for the upgrade.....Vader was making adjustments to the suit while being detached from his cybernetics in a bacta tank. As for the pain part, he never screamed pain in the suit until he was hit by someone. He screamed agony from the table after his fight with Obiwan on Mustafar while being transferred to the suit. In the "Into the Fire" comic series, he could adapt cybernetic parts from droids, this was after Palpatine dismembered him with the force and casted him to the shore on Mustafar. When he came back to Palpatine to get his suit repaired, he could have chosen to be put to sleep but chose to be awake to feel the pain of the operation.
I do think that Vader upgraded his suit a little over time--it does change cosmetically between Episode IV and Episode VI--but I also think that after Mustafar, Vader was nowhere near as powerful as Anakin Skywalker had been and was no longer "The Chosen One." A very powerful Sith, yes, but now only a pale shadow of what Anakin was. He lost that forever, IMO.
I think a what if story should have Vader somehow be incapacitated and upgraded by someone else. Also they could grow him new organs and not only restore but enhance his senses but give him advanced cyborg legs, and arms. The motivation would be Palatine made an emeny of someone and they felt the only person who could possibiliy kill Palatine was an enhanaced Vader. The Night Sisters who be a good candidate for that role. Revenge for stealing Darth Maul from them. Their understanding of the dark side would be an asset. I feel that is the only way it could happen because ultimately to me Vader didn't upgrade his suit beause his guilt told hm he deserved the pain the suit gave him. So Vader's dark twisted self hate mindset that fueld his power would be intact and he has an awesome new suit.
Did that for many years with tabletop role playing games from WEG to WotC, like during the 1990's ... as teenagers. Then throughout my twenties at public gaming shops. a.) Leia and Vader stranded on an ocean coastline. Roll difficulty DC16 on 1d20 or 4d6, or 2d10 for Vader to resist the impulse to drown someone. b.) Vader wakes up in a café without his armor feeling numb, with two posters of him, .. i.) Proud clint of Hair Club for Men. ii.) Shave head skin care wax. iii. small groups of women complementing his blue eyes. Pain is gone from nerve clipping/chipping, and on some really good juice so its not a turn to the lightside..
If he would have had that suit done to peak ability Luke would have never stood a chance. So maybe in his mind he was actually giving his son a chance. Who knows
Seeing that in the "reality", as seen in "Rogue One" and "Obi-wan", Vader has no problems with being repeatedly removed from his suit and its life support system, the real answer to this question is "this is actually the best suit Vader could possibly get".
This is a mute question, the suit is so iconic that it wouldn't be Vader anymore. It's that simple, he is an iconic bad guy from the original trilogy, so changing anything significant to his character just wouldn't work.
Palpatine would have killed Vader the moment his usefulness terminated. Palpatine wanted to rule and would destroy Vader if he tried to make any favorable changes
Self-torture by choice there's a reason beneath the mask it wasn't a solution for Anakin and possibly totally his own choice but there's a sacrifice of his own making. The Emperor did choose what would come next because he knew the way things were to come as a Sith and could see the future events of some. Though it was just possibly a lurker into the dark side of the Forse set before the events ever happened by someone other than the Emperor. The question of who was more powerful than the Emperor remains unanswered. Was there more than one Sith order?
Are there other ways to do it??? Gaming...extremely difficult training...if you train on an extremely difficult firing range...it extends to your kill potential...even outside firearms...because that was the wish...
