Hands down absolutely YES. We need a sequel for Days Gone. Also if they make the movie and don't cast Sam Witwer, I'll boycott the movie and never see it.
i first played it in very hard difficulty and when my character level and weapon weren't up there yet, suddenly came across a group of undead were more than terrified ,let alone the actual horde, my heart stopped for a second lol
It would be so sudden too. Like that horde near the road you take to get to Iron Mike, to the right down the hill. I was driving down there really just chillin and ran into that horde their in the early game
I remember one time i ran out of gas while travelling. so i had to hop off my bike and treck to a nearby town on foot to get some. while i was at that town, a horde came out of no where. so i kept my head down and let them pass. or so i thought. they ended up circling back around and i had a last stand on a roof top while they all tried to climb up and kill me. easily one of my favourite moments in gaming
Damn I haven't heard Syphon Filter talked about since PS2 lol I still play 1,2 & omega strain from time to time That and Splinter Cell were two of my favorite series growing up.
You and I have very different definitions of Awesome. Shoving MMO b******* into one of the best single player games of its year? Agreed to disagree. Days gone is one of my favorite games of all time. But hearing what they had planned for the canceled sequel, I'm honestly happy it never happened.
They seriously have to make a sequel. There isn’t any other game like this on console. So in depth and realistic! Sure we have dead island, dying light but they just don’t compare to the realism of days gone. Please SONY!!!
That mentality is kinda dumb. When a game first releases should be about wether people like the idea. OBVIOUSLY it's gonna have issues like literally any game release nowadays. The beginning stages shouldnt determine if it'll get a sequel. The final product should determine if the sequel will happen or not. If people really like the game when it's finished and all said and done then that should mean sequel coming
Sony paid a lot of $ for middling reviews and an initial bug filled product which reflected poorly on them and pissed the green lighters off (who of course got shit from the top guns). The most us game lovers can hope for is that Days Gone will be like childbirth for Sony. After the initial pain and suffering and sacrifice and “I’m never f…ing doing this again”…… time will pass and the memory of the bad experience will fade and slowly…………….. “hmmmmmm maybe we should look at this again and run the numbers 🤞
Same. I was kind of shocked years later when I looked back and realized how harsh the critics were on it. I get that it starts much slower than it ends, but I really enjoyed it from start to finish. I'm replaying it now and still enjoy it. Frankly, I love that it's still introducing new tools and concepts all the way into the second half of the game when you can start fighting these hoards that you've been avoiding in the first half. It's much more interesting to me than a game that dumps everything on you early then waits for you to get bored for the next 40+ hours of repetitive gameplay. Also, this was made during COVID, so imagine how well they could do with a well funded and planned sequel made in more ideal conditions.
Exactly. I only played it this year, after hearing some good things about it and thinking, "huh, isn't this that zombie game that got shit on?" Honestly, I'm glad I gave it a chance. An easy 8/10. Great game.
Days Gone was one of those games that had me searching for things to do once i had completed it, and for those of us that did and found that 'extra ending'.... oh man. Learning that it had been cancelled was upsetting to say the least. It could have been amazing.
It's such a shame. The story was pretty good, and the character felt genuine. Gun play needed work, but it works. The bike controls is a breath of fresh air. The bike feels like its own character being the only bike you get. It has weight and actual momentum it. In my head, Canon, they lived the rest of their days happy. It stays that way until a proper sequel
@@B-U-T-C-H-E-R my bad, I thought u mean days gone. I do replay days gone times and times, I do not play hell divers 2 cause it's just start ship troopers game just my own opinion, it's not my type of game.
Extremely overhated game. Played it years ago and to this day I still randomly think about the story and the soundtrack. It is an absolute tragedy that the team wont get to flesh out the ending cliffhanger and all we will ever have is what couldve been when thinking about a sequel
Yes. The whole NERO element of the game was left wide open. Who are they, where are they and what are they or going to do? It's a whole storyline left wide open for a sequel.
Days gone was special and unique. One of those games that sticks with you forever. The story was amazing and so was the character development. The sounds and world were done so well. Although this game did feel a little empty compared to what gamers are now used to, and the cutscenes didnt flow smooth like modern games, its a game that will stick with you forever and you would never regret playing. Its sad it was given the cold shoulder... Dayz gone could have been one of the best series and designed games if it was actually given time to develop further... Will always have a special place in my gamer heart. Will always be one of the top 5 games ive ever played. If you have never enjoyed days gone.. U really are missing out.
@@akihiito *SPOILERS* Except when it gets to the part when Deek gets captured by the Rippers. That was cheap. This is my first play through, so hopefully the story redeems itself after that. I’m really enjoying the game otherwise.
Fans won't be able to raise 100 million that's what it would take for Sony to match it and it be worth it I love the game but just being real about the situation
@@OniZombies it would be more then that 100 million if the first game was 220 million then the second one would cost even more especially to improve the game and add things to it
Or have pre orders and the fans out their money down. If the game never gets made they could give us store credits for our deposits. I would preorder if that would help the developers
I'm glad you gave Days Gone a chance and love it as much as we fans do. We all really hope Days Gone 2 will see the light of day to save this unfinished and predatory state of gaming.
A friend just bought me this it's not bad. Went to first north nero checkpoint at lvl 2. fired the generator thinking i was clever as i did see the siren speakers and cut them. Fired up the gen, went in, and got the needle. I went to the back door opened it and there was the horde of w/e 100? i noped closed the door and tried to run. They didn't care came inside and beat me to death as I laughed my ass off. That was a pretty good impression.
Requiring a game to do well at launch in order to justify a sequel is prime studio stupidity. A IP struggling at launch, then gradually growing a large following is perfect acceptable and should be expected, unless you threw a TON of money behind marketing it, and produced a banger of a product that ran flawlessly at launch. Otherwise, you can't expect a new IP to rake in huge sales until people have had a chance to play it themselves, hear reviews etc. You know what game people ARE likely to buy at full price at launch? A SEQUEL to a game they loved several years ago, even if they didn't pick it up until it went on sale.
And useless "critics" and "journalists" who put 1% of the time needed into any given game over the last ten plus years, it's become more about a games political optics than the actual game itself, and devs of some pretty impressive games at launch haven't helped either, looking at you HD2.
I absolutely loved Days Gone back when i played it, i have very few complaints with it outside of the technical issues, it reminds me of State of Decay 2 but with an actual story, and a very long one wich i loved even if many others didn't. One of my all time favourites.
The critics probably only play a few hours and in case of Days Gone it's "wasted" on the intro which definitely wasn't the best part of the game. I played it for a bit and then ditched it for about a year too before I even finished the intro. Once you're past the intro it got a lot better and even more so once you have a bigger tank for your bike so you won't have to fill up every 2 minutes.
What do we expect from Sony? They've screwed us over way too much. First with making PSN paid for in the ps4 era, then them removing thousands of movies and shows people bought on PSN without giving warning or refunds, put multiple PS classics like Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank (Not the reboots), Sly Cooper and Infamous on the back burner forever, to funding "Modern Audience" games to cancelling any game the fans would've wanted. Sony keeps double down on BS instead of catering to their real audience who want naturally diverse, fun, well written games that don't have more cutscenes than gameplay.
Broo i just watched your original one to days gone, now this bro nostalgia out the roof make me wanna replay it 😂 i loved this game and wish it makes a massive comeback and gets its sequel
Damn i sso hope for a sequal to days gone. Its very weird how i thought certain things in the game where a bit flawed.. BUT i played it TWICE. I almost never play a game twice. Similar to that mad max game that had flaws and i was like well i don't think this part is very good? But....? I also played it twice because something about it just works.
I already signed the petition and I REALLY want a days gone 2 to have another chance to be in the spotlight, because with how awesome the first one is a sequel will only improve, and cmon that cliffhanger!
@@jovakhiin No, thats not how it works They will see it took 3 (or more) years to garner "meager" 300k people, with multiple spikes thanks to videos. The game didn't sell well and that petition is only sealing the grave.
The update they did to day's gone on PS5 was amazing. It fixed every little glitch all the lag and made it look absolutely beautiful.. not only does this deserve the sequel game, but it also deserves its own television series
Days Gone is strange for me, the story was hot garbage. It was glitchy as fuck, the load screen issue was terrible, the audio was HORRIBLE (driving on bike, characters are talking, one is talking normally the other is YELLING type stuff) it felt like a half finished game. BUT gameplay was pretty damn fun, solid C tier game.
A year ago I had never heard of this game heard a review or anything and I’m a zombie lover so I decided to try it since it was on my plus. Turned out to be one of my fav games of all. 12 play throughs and a platinum. And there’s something new every time. Damn good game Edit: Sony we don’t want a movie. Spend that money on a Days Gone 2
Dude, the game is mediocre, that's why all this happened. The story is meh. The gameplay is entertaining because it's a cheap copy of the one in The Last of Us. I can't believe that those from the cement generation always blame politics every time something is either successful or not hahaha no one thinks more about whether someone is white, straight, gay or a man than they do. They bring those issues and controversies to the games, normal people don't care about those things. If the game did poorly it is because the protagonist is a white man. If it also does poorly it is because he is not a white man hahaha they no longer know who to blame 😅
There were a lot of technical issues on its launch which definitely affected review scores for context I'm sure a lot of those issues got patched later. I played it on PC years later, and the port was buttery smooth and never crashed making my experience top-notch, the gameplay is some of the best in its genre.
I have such a special memory with this game. Most of the locations in the north are fictional, but based on real locations in Central Oregon. When I was playing, I looked something up and saw that Diamond Lake was in it. I quickly closed the tab, but was excited! See, when I was little, my grandparents moved to Central Oregon, and we lived in Texas. So many of the times I got to see them were during my grandfather's fishing trips, at Diamond Lake. So getting to see such an obscure and personally beloved location was really awesome. As I drove over the mountain range, I was giddy. I was wondering if I would see the cabins I stayed in in real life, or maybe the resort building that I spent Labor Day celebrations in with crowds for fireworks. Or maybe the RV park my grandparents would stay at. Then I finally reached it. And it was all gone. It was cut down and burned to a crisp. I expected it to be dilapidated, but I didn't expect it to be utterly destroyed by human hands. I felt robbed, and it was such a personal loss. It was the closest I ever got to feeling like my home was destroyed while I was gone. I have never felt that in a game before, and I doubt I ever will again.
Didin’t play it as i have no playstation but maaaaaan the story and characters fuuuuucking hooked me in as i watched it….and i will continue to hold a small amount of hope for a sequel as long as i can
Fantastic Video I always feel devastated that there may not be a Days Gone 2 but always love your satirical humour in these videos. Definitely hilarious 🤣
The game was bad until the very last act, which happens with 1-2 hours left in the story. The first 20 hours of gameplay is miserable and slow compared to the endgame offerings. Bad pacing, boring characters, bad writing 6/10 game at best
I've played thus game many times and it needs a part 2. J heard Sony had something to do with why it was scrapped. I guess they rather see The Last of Us get made and then remastered and whatever else, which it's a great game series in itself but come on give us more Deacon St. John
I enjoyed days gone. I got invested in upgrading the bike and clearing hordes. The world was pretty immersive. The story was good enough to keep me playing, I need to finish it though.
Its sad that the game ended like this, truly truly sad, and yeah truth is 100% it was because of woke movement. IGN has HUGE power over sales, and Im pretty sure most people dont even watch video just see the IGN grade, but IGN gave it lower grade because the game was not woke.. male protagonist... but if it got a 9 people would buy it big time and we would have game number 2.. IGN gives mostly bad reviews, and people know this, but small studio, trying to make a name for themselves... they need this push.. and they didnt get it. and sadly game was not popular enough at the time to get different push that it needed.. and sony didnt even blink when giving up on them.. TLOU2 with that zero trash story got 10/10 and got millions and so on, and is even getting part 3... got AMAZING PUSH.. but its acceptable to be trash if story is woke. 10/10 IGN
Best game I’ve ever played. Last one I’ll ever play. Sony being asinine by avoiding #2. Have not found a better game. Tired of multiplayer crap with all kinds of added junk. I’ll play Days Gone over and over… but no more wasting cash on kiddie junk.
I first heard about Days Gone in a Game Informers magazine well before its launch. No other game has had me hooked on it before it was released and I got my parents to buy it as soon as they could. Since then, Days Gone is still my favorite video game to date.
This one just hurts as a true SonyPony gamer. I’ve jumped ship onto PC and replayed this masterpiece in its genre in full glory and it hurts just as bad knowing a sequel isn’t even a thing 5 years later. It NEEDS a sequel, it deserves a sequel. The chads Deacon and Boozer deserve a sequel 😭
It just wasn't very good. It had good game-play but the main character was unlikable and the plot was pretty dumb...bullet proof hazmat suits... They tried so hard to show our love for the ex-wife but, the process was BORING and unskippable. We could have hauled the wife off early but they needed her to stick around the enemy to make the rest of the plot happen. The dumb plot bothered me a lot.
To be fair Days Gone was a pretty bad Game at Release. No wonders critics were bad cause the State of the Game was bad. So many Bugs and weird Glitches that were patched over the Months after the Release. After i had a Gamebreaking Bug on Release i stopped playing, sold it and just returned when i bought my PS5 and checked it out trough the PS+ Collection. And with smooth 60 FPS i had a great ride with it. So anyone who didnt played it yet really should check it out on the PS5
9:26 No words can express the sheer stupidity of this statement when games like "Women.. Ch" resident evil exists and prove otherwise. Blaming reviewers (of which was obviously not true at all just look at the reviews) and claiming they're "woke" just shows that you cannot take criticism and deserve to be shat on. A lot of reviews at time of release complained about the awful resolution glitches which would make a cutscene look like playdough, glitches which caused you to fall through the floor or into walls or your fucking bike be unridable because its stuck in an object are why the game had low scores. What a loser of a statement to make.
It just wasn't a very good game and had hostile, bitter developers who can't stay of Twitter. The game wasn't a victim of alleged cancel culture, it just wasn't that compelling or financially viable. Simple as that.
A few things grinded my gears with this one, pun intended obviously, the ammo was the biggest grind, if you only lack one bullet of whatever, that's what you get from a giant ammo box, and said box is gone, that is extremely bad for a survival game, the weapon pairing system also caca, than small details like slick road tires actually working on mud, more unbelievable than zombies Its still one of the only 2 games i went platinum, the other i was bored to death, not with days gone, kept me glued to the end, unexpected little gem
This is the game with the word Day in the title that deserves a sequel. Unlike another similar game with Day in the title that is flat out horrible. By which I’m referring to Fntastic’s flop The Day Before. Bend Studio can create a sequel just without Deacon. New characters, new story the whole shcemer.
Sony shouldve make the game not exclusive on Playstation... I'm just started play this game on pc, and the story grews on me, its a shamed, this game not getting any sequel
So you're gonna make a movie but you're not going to put the effort in expanding the games story this is why gaming is dying To become a game critic you must... 1. Shit on good games and give them bad reviews 2. Give shit games good reviews because they focus on diversity or womens empowerment or some bollocks 3. making gaming so unlikeable that you ruin it for everyone
Problem was the story was not that great sorry to hurt your feelings bro only watching about 30 minutes into the video and just remember the the game play was great but still today if you try to play this game it's buggy as hell when it first came out I only played it one time I never wanted to Play It Again I played it a few months ago the second run after so many years still buggy as hell even with that mass of 30 gig 40 GB update they gave it a couple years later it's still bad glitchy for a Sony studio game maybe that's why this is not a part two the story was not compelling like The Last of Us I did not feel for the character of Deacon and his wife it just it was not there that's why I will never be a part 2 because it did not sell Well story sucked gameplay was great but you only could go so far there was no online play so it's dead in the water for all those reasons
I played it i loved it and im still hoping for a sequel its just sad to see the devs hardwork go to nothing due to game critics and also stupid woke politics
I'm about half way through, i played once a few years ago but its my favorite game so i started new game on the hardest difficulty and my god... if you have not played that game on the hardest difficulty you dont know how good it can be. half way through and i still have not killed a horde. no HUD means i run out of stamina and i cant get past a single horde yet. and stealth becomes the only way to take out nests or a bandit camp, 1-3 shots and you are dead, no mini map.... its the way you need to play, when you drive you actually have to use your eyes and it forces you to really appreciate how beautiful and detailed the game really is
Piss off with your movie just give us another game, bought this game on launch on ps4 but life happened and I couldn't complete it at the time. Now I'm on PC and am about halfway through it totally hooked its a fantastic game and if Sony don't want to approve a sequel then then that proves how out of touch they truly are
Co-op online was reason for it being canned. Sony said in the beginning the game and all of the ones to follow would be single player story based. Jeff Ross placed online multiplayer in demo and Sony said nope.
