the atmosphere totally changed after frank darabont left… it makes me sad to think what could’ve been, but i’m also happy in a way because it makes me appreciate season 1 and 2 so much more, and i’ll always have the comics to go back to and re-read when i’m sad about how twd show ended up turning out, i’ve tried a few times to finish the show but always stop at season 7, i rewatch season 1 and 2 frequently because it’s so comforting and reminds me of simpler times…

Season 1 has such a unique feel to it that no other tv show has been able to replicate for me :/

I remember where I was when the pilot aired: I was in a hotel in New Orleans, just coming off an all-day acid trip at Voodoo Fest with my brother, my gf, and 2 of her friends. I'd read the comics past the prison arc, so I was hyped af, and we left early to watch. Nobody else but me in the room knew much about TWD, but I made 4 new fans that day.

I also think you should make a video about Sophia's death and how important that death was for the show. that was the moment where you realize that no one is safe

I'd argue the attack at the quarry camp, where Amy and Jim (as well as Ed and some other NPC campers) were killed, was the point that showed nobody was safe
@sourmintsowplays648
@sourmintsowplays648 9 дней назад
@@LegoBeachtrooper I can see why you think that. but I believe that Sophia's was because of the fact she was a kid. in most shows and movies *normally* kids make it to the end. and I'm pretty sure (outside of Daryl being a character) that was the first major change in the plot from the comics

Season 1 was truly goated. Imo it wasn’t bested by any other season. It was truly amazing from head to toe. The pacing, the mood, and even just the simplicity of that season made it a good watch. It was all so well crafted and articulate. While every season after that had their poor moments and plots, s1 remained most consistent without any bad storytelling moments.

Ranking seasons 1-6 (stopped watching mid s9): 1. S1: enough said. 2. S5: mainly being the badass feel of that season. It’s no longer a debate between right and wrong survival is the only thing that matters. Seeing the group turn feral and then have to domesticate themselves to join a community after all the trauma they’ve just faced was fantastic. Only plot points I didn’t like was the Hospital arc and making Tyreese too soft to kill Martin. Tyreese should of stuck around longer and died in No Way Out imo. 3. S2: Ik some people didn’t like it but in terms of character development it was the best season. The pacing was much slower than the previous season but it gave the group enough time to deal with all the drama within the group. It delved into quite a few themes, such as: Sofia not making it and Carl getting shot (it showed the impact that the apocalypse had on the children and not just the adults). Dale dying who was the moral compass of the group. Shane dying after a mental breakdown when he started the series as their leader. This made the group seem hopeless as they lost all these important people and they were forced out of their home. 4. S4: the sickness was an interesting plot line along with the Governor’s short but impactful return. It was a great way to end the prison arc. The road to Terminus was overall good. Not a bad season just not the best. 5. S6: the beginning bit with all the flashbacks was trash. They should of continued that story throughout the season and even briefly carried it onto s7. They just brushed over it in the show which was kind of lazy. No Way Out was great but Carl sparing Ron after trying to kill him felt silly imo. The second half is where it really got better. The slow introduction of Negan where you just hear his name a few times then the build up to the lineup was excellent. They should of given Glenn something actually important to do instead of fake dying then disappearing. It started off shaky then gradually got better.
@HenzoW-cf3mh
@HenzoW-cf3mh 9 дней назад
6. S3: I liked bits of it but what ultimately did it for me is the laziness of it. This is where the show first started showing significant signs of lazy writing. The prisoners were so unimportant they didn’t even need to be introduced in the first place. The first 3 prisoners who died served their purpose so I didn’t mind them but Oscar and Axel were wasted. They randomly switched him from serial killer to nice guy. He seemed pretty incapable so I didn’t mind him dying that season I just wanted his character to do more than what he did in the show. Oscar on the other hand had so much potential. He saved Rick and seemed pretty capable. He was down with the cause and seemed like a man of principles. Having him survive s3 and giving him a small arc which could either end at the end of the prison or with Terminus or maybe somewhere in between would of been great. They built him up just to give him such a lame death. Tyreese’s group were just terrible. Should not of been introduced. Had no purpose whatsoever. Hated them. Andrea being built up as a DEVELOPING badass until being ruined at s3. Should of kept her and Rick an item. Ngl my opinion but Michonne overstayed her welcome later on and I wasn’t sure about her and Rick being together. She peaked in s3 and 4. The Governor didn’t seem that scary as well. This is wild but he probs should of cut Glenn’s hand off like he did Rick in the comics just so we know he means business. The Governor and Andrea was stupid. Only thing I liked this season was the main group and how they have changed from how they were in s2. I liked Merle’s redemption. The last two things were pretty much the only good things I liked that season. The Governor was great but just needed to be more scary and menacing. The season finale was trash.

I'm currently on my first full watch through.. I wanted to watch when it aired, but I had a lot of stuff and no way to record it lol. I'm not afraid of much but I've been afraid of zombies for a while. I'm overcoming it by watching RU-vid and then decided to binge TWD and I'm almost half done with the main series. Part of me is still scared cause I have kids, and I'm no Rick Grimes or Carol.. But I'm getting better

@@AndieSchweizer Carol is SUCH a boss. its amazing to think how far she's come from being the sheltered housewife who couldn't leave her abusive husband in season 1 to turning into the uncensored old lady who gave kids nightmares (Sam) or the one who absolutely obliterated terminus and saved the entire group to being cannibalized in season 4. but i think it's awesome that you're making an effort to overcome your fears and watching youtube is a good step. i would recommend watching reaction videos to find more connection to the show, i personally enjoy them a lot!!

@@commonidiocy. She really is!!! I started by watching virology videos... then I'd watch clips up to the point I had seen previously (prison, when the flu broke out), then breakdowns and now I'm just... obsessed lol. I have a friend who was aaaalllll about TWD and she'd tell me things cause at the time I was all "I have zero interest in watching so vent to me, cry to me, whatever" so I know a few things that happen throughout the main series, and little to nothing of FTWD and I'm not touching Daryl's show until I'm done with the other two

@@AndieSchweizer well you're on the right track, don't watch any of the spinoff shows until you finish the main one.. and about FTWD, WASTE. OF. TIME. the showrunners made the biggest mistake of their lives by making Morgan the star of the show, completely screwed up. just ditched the whole story they had created with the other characters to put HIM in the spotlight. i really didn't get the new storyline after season 3, it was just a big mess. but don't let me discourage ya! you should definitely finish the main show if you want to get the fandom :)

I actually saw the first episode when it aired back in 2010 and was blown away. Usually zombie apocalypse movies are little cringe and unrealistic but The walking Dead took an element of horror and realism. It felt like something like this could happen in our world

One thing I like is how they don't really show the walkers that much. The first walker in the entire show is hidden behind a door, and then next couple are on their own. Not a huge hoard or anything.

Thank you very much, also I’d just like to point out The word "ride" is often used to describe traveling on top of something, such as a horse, bike, or motorbike. However, you can also say "ride in/on a bus/train" and "ride in a taxi/car". That’s the definition straight from Google :)

Its unrealistic how useless the survivors are, this is around S3 of FTWD and the survivors there are strong, well its easy to say that in hindsight.
