Why Demon Slayer Funko Pops Suck 

You honestly could say most of this about other lines like Naruto or Mha for example, I'm just tired of the repeats in Demon Slayer at the moment lol. Make sure to leave a like and thanks for watching!

In the anime, Funko released demon slayer Funko pops around the first season. So the Hashira never really got a stance because they were really just standing and talking in the first season. But we did see Giyu and Shinubu fight demons, so that’s why Funko has a really cool mold for it.

Waaaaait why no Tengen for the next wave??!?!? I am excited about Rengoku but I do feel like they could do way more stuff with the pops. So many amazing moments.

Hey SkittlesRampage! I’m a huge Demon Slayer fan and this was the first line of funkos I started collecting. Sadly I agree that they suck and it’s so hard to be a completionist with this set because you just keep buying the same pop. I really hope they change it around with the new wave coming out though! 🤞

I am one of the ones who has been blinded by completeing the set, having you put everything into perspective like this really makes me re-think my collection and some of the meaningless variations

I feel like this is less they suck and more they've become somewhat lazy.

i actually find it cool that there’s so many variations just due to the fact that i get to choose which one i like more and pick only 1 variation of whichever character i want. i try to do that anyway with my naruto collection

Yeah when I first started collecting funkos demon slayer was the one set that I wanted to complete 100% and now it really is like a chore. Like as a customer i feel like I’m taking the L cause there are way to many repeats in my set and very underwhelming compared to all my other sets

Because they don't know who to make. Like we don't want Tanjiro eating noodles, we want Akaza with a glow chase...

I do want to collect all the Hashira but outside of that I really don't see the point in completing an entire line. It gets a bit frustrating when they pump out so many variations when there's heaps of cool characters they still haven't made yet

Yep, 4 nezuko pops but only 2 different molds is a great way to sum up this line. Finding the tanjiro HT exclusive randomly is what got me into collecting funko and I'm quite annoyed that I have to buy so many repeats of the same character in relatively similar poses (Inosuke) or just 're-skinned' commons (Tanjiro). That said it's my own fault for being a completionist and a huge success for funko's revenue, but like damn...

I’m just thankful Rengoku isn’t a stupid “exclusive” with Chase variant, or even worse, a Con exclusive.

Hey skittle, I have an important question for you, why do you say the new wave is still the 1 season? Season 3 it's almost coming out, this should be season 2 wave no? I really hope it is because I wanna see other Rengoku with diferent stance and an Akaza pop...I have hope it's a Season 2 Wave (also because Enmu it's a Season 2 pop)

I feel like being limited to season 1 they could've added different characters like urokodaki, or the demon rui. As much as I like the Enmu pop I feel like rui could've also been a good Pop outside of the Pop moment

The DS pops are BEAUTIFUL but ANNOYING just because of all the variations. I had the set 100% but I had to stop the minute the two pack came out. Again, beautiful pops. The boxes are so pretty. There is so MUCH potential for this line. I wish they would actually take it serious, they could make so so soooo much money from us if they started to please us instead of just milking us.

In my case i just buy the figures that i like the most since i don't have much space or money to have a complete set and because i don't think is necessary to buy every single character or variant

While on the topic of demon slayer do you think they'll be announcing the 2nd wave soon? Seeing how almost everything from the Fright Nights has been announced with the exclusion of The Hulk soda and the boo hollows. Do you think they would announce them sometime soon and have them release in either March or April or do you think they'll wait for another Funko event such as funko fair or funkoween to announce them?

Obviously I am a completionist, BUTT I will never EVER buy funko pops and or items that are basically the same thing. the only exception is if it's your favorite character! for me Its inosuke (if it wasnt obvious) so I'm happy to spend my money on him is it worth it..? Yes and NO. If youre happy then yes it's worth it because at the end of the day its your money! but don't be sending hate on my boi @SkittleRampage for his opinion! If you like to collect everything that's fine but don't be spending money if you're not satisfied and or if you have to think about buying something.

You honestly have all the reason, thankfully I read the manga and I know that once they make new pops for Gyomei or Tokito, using their breathing styles I'll definitely sell this one's, I've already sold the Hinokami Glow cause I know what's coming

This is why I don't try completing sets in this type of manner. I purchase the character model I like the most and only sometimes do I get a second of a different model if it's something I like a lot.

I think when they were first announced they started off with a bang, including the hot topic and boxlunch tanjiros, and the flocked inosuke and the giyu. Those were all amazing but ever since they have just been going down hill with all of the lame variants and 4 packs/t-shirt bundles. Hopefully they realize this and make the future waves a lot better.

The sanemi and muichiro funkos are so expensive here in my country which is weird because there was nothing exceptional with the designs. Ok, well Sanemi was ok but not for the price point. They did Rengoku dirty. He had so many iconic moments and they just went with a plain pose. If it's s1 they could at least have mui holding a rock since that's his moment in s1...

They’ve hardly made any demon slayer villain funko pops when there’s so many iconic villains in the show.

So far got mostly one of each, 873 glow tanjiro, chase insokue, both zenitsu, Muichiro, enmu, giyu and Gyomei, happy with them all so far but waiting for a better kind of Nezuko

While watching this I was literally wearing the shirt from the tanjiro t-shirt bundle 😂

I feel the same way, Tanjiro had some cool pops but the rest was meh. Even some of the Hashiras that have come out, are all just standing there. Hoping we get a really good transformed Nezuko one and action poses for the Hashiras in the next waves.

I’m a crazy demon slayer fanatic. But you do have a very good point. They make a shit ton of the same pops and not enough different character pops.

the only part that bothers me about Demon slayer pops, is the same reason to alot of pops, Alot of the Main Chacaters are exlucivse to stores ONLY in the states. so lame.

I'm not a completionist by any means. I usually get one per character per line. Inosuke is ridiculous. Nezuko is laughable. That being said I never got a Nezuko so I'll be grabbing her metallic one. 😂

They need to chill with just shitting out different variations of the same pops and try to make them more exclusive and new characters

One fix to this problem don’t be a completionist and only buy what you like.

i agree with you, that's why im selling my demon slayer bundle after a year waiting for them. currently only have 4 pops left.

Personally I’m only getting one version of each character that gets a Pop,for example I have the common Nezuko so I’m not even going to bother to get the metallic one,I have Flocked Inosuke so I’m getting every wave 2 Pop except the new Inosuke. The only character I’m willing to have more than one Pop is Kanao since she’s my favorite but besides that I’ll just get one for each character.

As someone who also collects MHA the recycled commons are nothing new why recently I've switched from collecting all the different moulds to skipping ones that feel like repeats for example: lounging Inouke, Toga from the tea bundle, formal Levi and NYCC Itadori

I agree the common molds for demon slayer were pretty simple and same goes for the both Con exclusive Enmu and Muichiro. We also did not need all these variations, thank goodness I stopped wanting to be a completionist and just collect the characters/molds I want.

At first I was super excited for the demon slayer pops cuz it’s the anime I got my siblings to start watching anime and venture out from it which holds a dear place in my heart and it’s frustrating as a completionist to see them being repackaged many times when I could have skipped the commons. IMO Gyomei chase variant should’ve been the only one for him, the common Zenitsu should’ve been him awake and scared so the Funimation exclusive would be more unique, BL Inosuke could’ve been him in the sleep ware that was provided by the wisteria family and Nezuko did not need a metallic variant given that she has nothing to do with turning metallic. The only multi pack I hope to see in the next wave would be the Uzui wives, Gyutaro and Daki and the Ubuyashiki family

Kimetsu had the best potential to do amazing pops, but 90% sucks.

Yeah, since some of the Pops for that wave didn't really excit me and this is coming from a person who loves both Demon Slayer and Funko Pops, however I did get a couple and there were some I did like For example: The Tanjiro Exclusives Flocked Inosuke Nezuko and Mini Nezuko I hope this next wave will be great and I hope we get Shinobu

Still, they had a lot of possibilities for season 1 Punko Pops. I don't know why they didn't make characters as Shinobu, Rui (apart from the Pop Moment), Urokodaki... all of them before Gyomei or Muichiro who barely had any appareance in S1... It kinda suck

I love Demon Slayer, but I agree. I’ve come across multiple good deals on a Gyomei chase, but I always pass it up because I don’t like it. I just put it towards other lines. I’ve got half the line, but I don’t think I’d be too upset if I sold most of it.

I planned to be a demon slayer completionist way back when since I really enjoyed the anime and I've made good friends because of it, but now I couldn't even imagine doing that because of the pointless variants ☠️

I will only get the 5 main characters. I got flocked inosuke and glow kanao. For tanjiro nezuko and zenitsu, i think i'll wait for the next batch, i hope theyd make them glow too. Tanjiro and zenitsu's pops are quite expensive(the cool version).

Why did they skip over season 2 & just get license for season 3?

IMHO I would drop all kinds of dough on different fighting forms for these characters. I love those variants!

Tbh they did do a lot of variations i only wanted the tanjiro chase and inosuke chase but honestly now i just want to collect all the hashira’s thats all i really want from demon slayer funkos now , like you said too many variations it becomes a waste of money. just like how they come out with commons and then later on announce an exclusive that is the same mold but glows . For example spiderman from endgame where he has the gauntlet if i would have known the were coming out with a glow exclusive i wouldnt have wasted the money and bought the common lol

All demon slayer pops released are probably some of the best pops, too much inosukes is the only problem, the only good one is probably the normal common with and without boar mask. They should've made a hashira wave for the next wave though, inosuke is odd.

I totally agree. Demon Slayer has so many variations that I just gave up on collecting them all. I would just buy one tanjiro or inosuke and call it there because why buy another variation if you already have that character.

I sort of agree but also disagree. The repackaging commons part only bothers me when they do a multi-pack, the metallic versions or glow in the dark variants is fine when done right. It gives the Funko a special feel to it for those that want it without feeling like others missed out on something if they opt not to. Inosuke was a win for me because if you didn't want to pay 100$+ for a chase bundle, you could get the t-shirt bundle unmasked and the flocked common exclusive from chalice for a reasonable price. I know everyone at first impulse buys pops to popular waves at first sight but they have to ask themselves if it's truly worth it to them rather than the fomo mindset or complete entire the set mentality. As for the retailer chase variation situations, if they released a chase people would really want at say like Hot Topic, the majority of people would be dissapointed at the lack of a guaranteed or easy access chase route especially when it comes to stock. I personally dislike when Hoy Topic has chase situations only because its impossible to fairly get it at stores when people just sneak into a mall or line up hours before getting 2 at a time & not having the authentic walk in feel for most people who have to work or attend class during reasonable times.

Funko is an AMERICAN company and are here to make money, they also have employees who need to stay employed. Giving the customer what they want is great business practice and having options on a product is a nice idea eg a kettle that comes in many colours to fit your kitchen! Funko isn't doing anything wrong it's up to the consumer to take control of their lives and have a plan on how they are going to spend their lives on earth as well as the money they make! Note if you have something to say on a subject make sure you try to see both sides of the coin as this video was very negative and one sided which I do not think was fair to Funko.

I definitely agreed with your take on the demon slayer wave. I love demon slayer but all the different variations of the pops was annoying and it also makes me so mad we had to wait so long for a Ren goku pop. How you skip Shinobu, Ren goku and Tengen but go straight to making Gyomei and Muichiro. Pisses me off so much and I really hate that they made Muichiro into a con exclusive because there's no pops of him being sold for anything less than $70 and I hate I have to pay so much which is why I haven't bought him yet but ik if I wait too late he's just going to keep rising in value so really hate that funko did that but oh well. Currently have the commons only as well as Giyu and Gyomei. Still gonna collect the line but Def hard pass on all the lazy variations they have made

I agree. They could’ve done so much more. They could’ve made a 3 pack Insouke zen and Tanjiro as girls. They could’ve done remgoku like Tanjiro box lunch but with his rengoku flameidk

Man I’m so sick of these constant recolors, majority of them don’t even make any sense, funkos really been lacking when it comes to creativity some times, like it’s crazy how many inosuke funko pops we’ve gotten

Well also with this line/show being so popular not everyone was able to get each one some were easier than others. Tanjiro warrants multiple ones since he's the main and has multiple breathing styles. Inosuke was def run in the ground tho lol

I feel like Demon Slayer might be another MHA because there so many characters in it that's my theory. I don't mind it I most likely might collect those more then MHA because I'm a big fan of the manga. Only sad thing about the release is you might get 1 wave and couple variants per year.

I feel like this take is completely wrong. There’s like 20 funkos on your shelf of Spider-Man that all look the same. The Chase is Goated. Plenty of pops have blood splatter as the chase. So tears is justified. And honestly love the small detail. Demon Slayer Pops have been all amazing and love all the variations.

but your right, the demon slayer line up is so boring, new wave coming is slightly better with Rengoku glow but even then you cant help but think, it could have been soooo much more. Rengoku could have had a flaming sword, fire base, circle fire around him etc... no just standing there arms crossed... but i guess its portraying end of season one on the flip side, is demon slayer a detriment to its own success where the licensing is so expensive its not worth buying? who knows?

SPEAK WITH YOUR WALLET!!! Funko will never stop doing these stupid variations unless we stop buying them, they know we fall for F.O.M.O. and that we are completionists so unless we stop buying these stupid variants they won’t stop making them

Agreed. Inosuke is my favorite but there's too many of him. Also, I managed to get chase gyomei from the last restock and I was a little disappointed. Definitely not worth its resale price.

I have thought the same thing about this line. Love the show but always found the pops boring and repetitive.

Finished the DS manga and thought the ending was better than more recent anime, like AOT's ending wasn't as good imo (after reading the manga), you definitely have some good points tho
