Why Dermatology: Reasons Why I Chose the Best Specialty 

What are you looking for in a specialty?

I am a sophomore in high school and am really interested in dermatology. This is really inspiring to see a fellow black female that not only is in the medical field but also in the specialty that I am interested in!

Girl I’m only an incoming freshman at college and I’m already thinking about what specialty i want to have in the future. Dermatology really has been something on my mind for a while and hopefully I can stick with that because its a specialty that stays on my mind 24/7.

Thank you for posting. I’ve been an esthetician for 6 years and I’m getting ready to apply to med school. Dermatology is definitely where I wanna be.

I’m in 8th grade I’ve always wanted to be a dermatologist since 5th grade and still really want to be one!

I am a final year pre-med student that is interested in attending med school. I have always been intrigued with knowing more about skin and hair so I am thinking about specializing in dermatology. My dream is to go to medical school, I study Biology now and I am looking for a female mentor in the field. If we could exchange emails or if you created a video in the life of a derm resident it would be amazing. I need to have a mentor in the field, sometimes I have so many doubts and I would like to have someone to talk about medicine.

so you are talking a lot about variety, for you does that mean you will specialize further once u are past residency or stick to general dermatology? would that allow u to see that variety, or would that be a time where you just don’t specialize any further? thank u so much for making this video, i’m trying to figure out what i want to study in college and videos like this are helping me a lot! sorry if my question doesn’t make much sense, i’m definitely a newbie in the speciality arena.
