YES! More this. Also, Warp Tour was a great time. I wish it still existed or there was something in NA that was an equivalent too. I don't know how kids get to music festivals now a days with the outlandish prices. ABSURD~!
Broke me to pieces to hear this.. More than when Danny left D: because it was Ben, the founder and fighter of the band through it all.. Idk if he is gone forever but it sure feels like it. Can tell he is an outstanding father and wants to focus solely on his family and respect it. Moo you are a beauty btw!
Ben was my childhood hero growing up. Words can’t explain how much I looked up to that man (he inspired me to pick up guitar, which is a skill I never wouldn’t learned if it wasn’t for him) . I met him twice he’s one of the nicest people ever. AA is gonna feel different without him that’s for sure, but I genuinely wish him and his family the best. Also not all hope is lost, even though he’s not gonna tour with AA, someone on the AA subreddit got a hold of Sam on ig, and posted the conversation. Sam said that even thought he won’t be touring with aa anymore, he still might help out with writing future material. So he still might be somewhat involved in the writing process.
He always seemed like a nice guy so it’s great to hear that you’ve met him and lives up to that, also must of been great being able to meet your childhood hero like that! I am assuming he may be writing with them for future material as songwriting was always his passion, good to see there’s talks of it possibly actually happening 🫶🏻❤️
As you said it wasn’t a shock announcement but it still did sting when it came. He’s grown so much since he started AA and for the better, he got clean, devoted his life to his family and now is putting them first, not a lot of men would do as much, they’d still be chasing the fame!! It is a loss to us fans but knowing why he made this decision makes him an even bigger star in my eyes now. I wish him and his family all the best for their future and as you said maybe we’ll see a throw back show one day. Also Moo I gotta say girl, good on you for not letting your anxiety make you miss out, I let mine do that for too many years and some shows I’ll never get that chance again. 💖
I remember my mom walked into the bar area and tapped him on the shoulder said I loved him BUT IM UNDER 21 AND CANT COME IN LMAOAOOAOAOAOAAO HE CAME OUT 😭😭😭😭 feels like yesterday and now im 25
Nice one Moo! Definitely one of the hottest bands in the Metal core hayday. Even though I was more into Killswitch, Trivium and August Burns Red. Still thought Asking was pretty sick
I'm from Argentina and it will be my first time seeing AA live. Not many of these bands come to South America. I would have loved to at least get a Farewell tour for him, like this is the last one... Not just dropping out in between 😢
Unfortunately you can’t plan stuff like that in these situations. He stuck around as long as he could but he’s got an obligation to his family. Fans wanting a farewell tour is significantly less important than what he has going on. Fortunately sam said Ben isn’t gonna tour anymore, he said that there’s a chance he’ll still help with writing new music in the future.
Im a bit older than you,so I'd like to see some slayer, maiden, anthrax, kreator, cradle of filth, dimmu borgir, black label society.... the oldies music
My old music leans of the side of rock/hair metal, motley crue,Aerosmith etc but there may be some cool collective videos I could tie all this together in 🥰
It is sad news, I’ve had the pleasure of seeing him play at sound wave and their side shows I think it was back in the day. Ended up meeting Danny and Ben at a bar and had drinks with them. Both amazing to hang out with
Ben Bruce definitely inspired a lot of us. He is a huge inspiration when it comes to my playing, especially now that I play in my city's biggest band… If I ever get the chance, I'd like to tell him that I'm thankful for everything. Let's see what Asking Alexandria do next, I don't know what that will be, but I'm excited!
I bet this was a long time coming.. I remember in an interview right after they released their first album, Ben and Danny claimed they were going to become the next Beatles of the world. Funny how it turned out to be completely the opposite, with BMTH claiming that title. The first album was priceless, and it's sad to see what has become of the band because they are such talanted musicians. From vocalist changes, to style changes, to just.. changes, here we are. I believe the band will never be the same going forward. Ben was a crucial part. At this point AA can beome the same thing a solo Danny project is. Sad 😢
Ben really should do something like "The Black" at some point again. I grew up with AA and have loved the evolution but Ben really showed something special in that album. Typically that band album without the established lead singer is so awkward and uninspired, but not for AA.
