Rimuru is just the 5th "True Dragon", and except for his "age", he's also quickly become the most powerful of the two sisters Velzard and Velgrynd, and their youngest brother Veldora combined.
Why? Place nice-nice with Rimuru and he'll basically let you be too. You only have to fear Rimuru if you're unwilling to negotiate with him in the first place, and are not willing to compromise even a little.
Tbh, it was unfair challenge. If Demon Lords truly united, Empire would be wiped out in a week. Rimuru, Milim, Veldora and Velzard could join the fight ( Velgrynd fought so Velz can as well), Dragoth is strong af as well, and if Rudra joined l, than so would Guy, making this entire war too unevenly matched. And if Ramiris was able to use her spirit queen form during battles, than oh boy, would that be quick. We'll, either way, Empire basically lost to Rimuru alone so this scenario doesn't even matter
The Challenge, at the time it was originally set-up and for 2,000 years afterwards was actually pretty fair, tbh. Rimuru didn't exist then, Raine and Misery were in absolute service to Guy but no were near Demon Lord status yet, Ramiris had just lost most of her Spirit Queen power in stopping Milim's Stampede of rage , and was corrupted enough to devolve down to a "Demon Lord". Veldora was still a fairly young and inexperienced dragon, and so easily controlled or cowed by his older sister's, And Rudra's "Empire" was still small enough that it posed no real threat at the time. The other 4 Primordials were still safely in the demon realm and had no way of entering and remaining in the human realm for any meaningful length of time. Leon, Luminous Valentine, and the other Demon Lords didn't join in until later on in the game, so....

@@notoftenused9433 But don't forget that back then, the Demon Lords status was more of a title than that of status, with the Walpurgis Council as a means to have a "friendly" tea together. Guy had just fought Milim for 7 whole days and nights, and if not for the intervention of Ramiris, he might have still been fighting her longer. Demon Lord was just a way to acknowledge their strength, not a method of Guy making pawns out of Milim and Ramiris. As for Velzard and Velgrynd, both were fairly evenly matched, even with Velzard being the elder of the two sisters. So saying that Guy had Milim and Ramiris as pawns couldn't be further from the truth, as Milim was his equal in strength and sheer power, and Ramiris equally so if not more so, for it was Ramiris that actually stopped Milim's Stampede, not Guy. The three of them were all equals; no one was the pawn(s) of the other. They were tentatively friends, in a rivalry sort of way. So Guy could not count on them to obey his commands and overwhelm Rudra. And this is all on top of the fact that Rudra and Guy had an agreement to act so that Rudra, the hero of mankind would "lead" humanity against the "evil" of Guy, so as to control mankind in a way that was not obvious to humanity, as per Veldanava's instructions to Guy when Veldanava appointed him the overseer of the Tensura planet in the first place. The competition between Guy and Rudra always was just an act, not a serious conflict, and Guy, with Rudra's help, intended to keep it that way. Guy never wanted, nor desired to "End' the conflict between him and Rudra. Otherwise Guy would not have gone to the lengths he did to set it up in the first place. And don't forget, until Ramiris put a stop to Milim's Stampede, Ramiris was on the side of "The Hero" Rudra. So the scales at that time were still, tbh, fair and balanced.
If this is all an elaborate game of chess, Rimuru’s the rookie player who makes insane moves nobody thought was possible, simply because he didn’t even know it was supposed to be impossible. Also, as many other people have pointed out, the queens of this chess game are the two older sisters of Veldora the Storm Dragon, who are also True Dragons. Velzard the Frost Dragon on Guy Crimson’s side, and Velgrynd the Scorch Dragon on Rudra’s side.
Well, tbh, Rimuru is eventually seen as the 5th "true" dragon that no one ever expected to show up to the game and disrupt things, thus being true to his other title of "Chaos Creator!"

To be honest, Guy and Rudra game is stupid. Diablo even said that fear is not the best way to rule the world. Instead, economic domination is better. Their game also indirectly contribute to the end of the world

Except Guy had no way of knowing about Rimuru's entry into this game of Chess between Rudra and himself until some 2,000 years after the beginning of "the Game" itself. And as to Rimuru's "usefulness" to Guy, Rimuru is described by all as the "Chaos Creator", because none can really be said to control him, and certainly not Guy either.
Velgrynd and velzard are the Queens But rimaru Is pretty much the most useful out of all of them just based on his growth and the unpredictability he just pulls out

The only reson the fights always ended in draw was becus Guy didnt want to win and would always put himself in handicap intentionally to enjoy the fights
Thats very unlikely the reason, if rudra have the same skills as masayuki i cant see anyone beating him, that mf skills literally plot armor, u can only be on par with him not beating him
@@himynameis1588 I don't remember the volume or the chapter of it in the novel but guy did say that he doesn't want rudra to win on their daily battles.. idk if rudra also have the same way of thinking because that chapter was in the point of view of guy
If I remember correctly Rudra and Guy in their first duel we're about equal that's the reason of the first draw but going forward Guy got stronger in every way and Rudra gain some control over his skill but was getting weaker or something like that, the reason of the game was because he could not keep up any longer and Guy like him very much and angry to the game, so the fun could continue.
What everyone here seems to be missing is that this set-up is 2,000 years pre-Rimuru, when Guy Crimson and Rudra were more evenly matched up. Rimuru, Masayuki, etc. won't exist for 2,000 more years at this point in the game.
In terms of base stats when you’ve reached saint class as a human like hinata you could fight evenly with a demon pier it wasn’t and unfair fight if ceil didn’t help testa , career and the others money of the would of died
Hmmm im curious about something, what wouldve happened if diablo became a true demon lord 2000 years ago instead of guy, and guy became the subordinate of rimiru would the world be different if diablo came into the world first ?
Guy would never be anyone even rimuru subordinate, the best thing we could hope is that he becomes rimuru's friend but he is literally the proudest being on the planet (hence pride king Lucifer)
Said random slime had an advantage! Rimuru is aggressively evolving in an extremely short amount of time, whereas everyone else is barely evolving at an extremely leisurely pace.

Milim is a Dragonoid, not a true dragon first, and while strong, is most likely not as strong as either of her aunts Velgrynd or Velzard. And queens need to be ones who would rule beside the king(s), which were in this case Guy Crimson and Rudra.
The Rudra we know 2,000 years later has become nothing more than a vessel to the Ultimate skill Justice King Michael after over 26 to 40 cycles of death & reincarnation to the same role and position, but 2,000 years earlier, Michael was no more than what Great Sage was to Rimuru at the time.

@@asiongsalonga2593 Lets not forget, when this all started 2,000 years previous, Michael was a loyal and dedicated Ultimate skill to Rudra as well. But after 2,000 years and 30 to 40 regenerations, Rudra as a person was exhausted of this never-ending cycle of death and re-birth, and was only a shell of his former self, thus allowing the ultimate skill Michael the ability of self-determination and direction of which way to play out the game with Guy. Rimuru on the other hand, has only been around for 16 to 17 years, so Ciel is only 16 to 17 years old as well, and is still firmly under Rimuru's control. The spirit of Rudra has been slowly disappearing with each regeneration until there was only a weak bit of him left over by the time Ultimate skill Michael took over, and Rudra's spirit became Masayuki over that time frame, albeit with a different sense of history from before, when he was Rudra. In The beginning Rudra was not a self-centred piece of garbage but was rather the Tensura world's hero of that period of time, when the Dark Elves (Princess Kagali's people) and the Super Sorcery Kingdom were still around, and High Humans still walked the earth, and Guy didn't have his Frozen castle yet either.
