There is a reason why I kept my first gen PS3 with backwards compatibility so I continue to play my original PS1 and PS2 games anytime I want without having to rebuy any of the games or buy new hardware

They should have just re-released the PSTV with special case, custom UI and a card full of 40 PS1 classics from the PS store.

3:40 You're the ONLY ONE i've seen that actually made the connection. Every other asshole reviewer says that the interface is completely bland, not realizing that this was how the memory card menu looked back on the original PS1.

Plug in a USB keyboard , hit escape key, with bring up a new menu and can change the pal to north American version

by the way, if you connect a USB keyboard to it, and hit the "escape" key, a menu will popup, where you can configure the emulation, for example change the format of emulation NTSC / PAL

No Resident Evil 2. The sequel was better. No Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, no Tomb Raider, no Crash Bandicoot, no Tenchu, no Spyro, why does *nobody* ever talk about the Legend of Dragoon?? That was one of the best games I've ever played. No Brave Fencer Musashi, no Silent Hill, Syphon Filter 2 was better than the original. No Smackdown. How the fuck did some stupid drilling game make it over all of this??

Thank you for complaining, youtubers. PS Classic became not only the cheapest, but arguably one of the best mini classics where emulation is involved.

I love how ppl get all butt hurt about hearing someone not praise these systems to high heaven. You make all the valid points about why these things are nothing but money grabs. That PlayStation boot up is probably my earliest nostalgia memories I was like 5 playing Sesame Street and a mature rated game One a great game.

Why buy a Playstation Classic when the PS3 can play ANY PS1 game and you can play ANY game you want especially when PS1 games are so cheap on eBay? AND you can use the Dual Shock controller and save to the hard drive, making both the PS2 and PS3 far better investments than wasting a $100 dollars on a crappy dedicated system. Buy a SNES system instead the preloaded games are far better and you can hack it to put ANY games on it!

Tbh, I just picked it up for $20 for Wild Arms and to try to expierience the origins of persona, so I'm glad to hear they play pretty well. Now I can look into emulators and see if it's worth more than a nostalgic one off 😊

Syphon filter was the game I liked the most on this console. My consule was hacked in Mexico and they gave me a game called Pepsi Man.

I bought a very lightly used PS2 earlier this year that came with 2 dualshock 2 controllers. As well as a sealed component cables that are sony brand. This machine seems like a cash grab all day, throughly happy with my ps2 purchase. Ebay is the cat’s pajamas.

Actually, PAL isn’t the issue, since the colours and definition are superior in that versions, but the lazyness of not twerking and adjust the framerate, also using an open free emulator (not the best around there). Seriously, this was pure lazy from Sony.
