Hi there, I know this video is older but I have a creeping suspicion my rear seal is going. Leaks oil 1 drip a second only while running. I have the stuff to install an aftermarket pcv system and a vented oil cap. The comment on piston rings scared me though. Recommendation or further info on that would be appreciated. Thank you for your time!
If the seal is leaking, the damage has been done. I would highly suggest you park the car, or keep an extremely close eye on the oil, as in every time you drive it top it off. You will need to have the engine removed to repair the seal. It's a bad situation, but you will end up needing an engine if you run it too low. Sorry to hear that news.
Can you talk to me on here? I have a 2010 equinox. I've owned it for 10 months never a problem. I now know about the pcv problem. I replaced the oil cap with one I bought at canadian tire which there is a bypass inside it. It's not supposed to let the pcv freeze up. I'd like to ask you some q uestions.
These SUV's are junk. Mine drank oil like a drunk . then the motor finally blew. Checked the oil the week before and it was full. Checked the oil when the engine blew and was empty. It didn't leak oil or there would have been a puddle on my garage floor.
Don't waste your time trying to fix the banged up door. You should be able to find one from a wrecker in matching colour for less money and time. Cheers from Edmonton, Alberta
