LOL I'm a car guy yet I was only excited about whipping around this same model elantra with like 22k on it as a rental. It felt like a go cart compared to all the family sized sedans my family owns, and a huge difference from my mercedes in ride/comfort. It was a pretty shitty car though and our mazda 3 which had some accident repair is a much better car than an Elantra. After posting this comment I did realize what you meant though. He is way into the details on this Elantra lol.

Hyundai & Kia are great cars today. My 2011 Hyundai sonata base model has more options than a base Mercedes, BMW, Acura & Infiniti of the same year. Style, comfort, gas mileage, power, tech package & great long warranty all for a cheaper price than the so called "luxury" brands; Bluetooth, Xm radio, mp3, steering wheel radio & phone controls, tire pressure monitor, power mirrors, telescopic steering, leather seats...the list goes on in the base model Sonata gsl. Camry, Accord and Altima are way overpriced for the same options.

Congratulations on a low cost reliable Elantra! I paid just over 20K but had it for over 8 years now w/ no issues. It's a 2013. I put one extra package on it which for 2013 they added heated seats w/ that package. My son in law had a 2013 new. Other than no heated seats, I saw the difference in the way his car steered compared to mine. But unless you have a 2013 you might not be unhappy w/ the steering at all. A great deal for you!. My 2013 GLS w/ 86K might be worth 7K if I were to sell it. Well maintained, looks great and same color as yours.

I've had two Hyundais and I'm convinced they make a great car at a very reasonable price. I've never owned a German luxury car but have many friends that have. They were very expensive to repair once the warranty expired. I'm talking thousands of dollars a yr. Some have switched to Japanese Luxury cars and I'm not hearing nearly the complaints. Very nice purchase, guy~ I have a 2011 Elantra GLS with 6-spd manual that I use to deliver medical goods across my state. I bought it when new in June 2011 and I drove it to 371k miles with very little in the way of problems and ZERO breakdowns. So you've still got quite a lot of miles to put on this car before you can worry about anything failing at all. The 1.8L produces 148 HP and 131 lb-ft of torque. I've never heard of those tires, but mine came new with the Hankook Optimo H426 which is an Environment rated tire designed for Low Rolling Resistance to provide an increase in fuel economy on highway driving. I've gone through four sets of them and have driven between 70-80k miles on each set for 85-90% highway miles. You and your wife enjoy the awesome car!

Bought with 97k miles now has 116k miles and no engine issues at all with oil changes at 5k mile intervals. Great car. Bluetooth works great. Cruse is smart with downshifting downhill. Amazing steering. Honestly with the steering modes the "sport" steering mode makes it feel like my old audi a4. Just a solid car that gets 40+ mpg highway and is comfortable.

It looks like that car had minor rear end damage in the past. The rear bumper looks like it may have been painted, especially when you go past the rear corner on the passenger side @ 3:56. Also, those tires are the WORST thing I ever had in my car. Bumpers often look different colors from the rest of the car because they are plastic, but since it's a metallic color it could also be changing in the light. At around 3:52 you can see that it's the same color as the trunk but the trunk fades to the color of the side of the car.

Freddy, I love watching your videos. Definitely a big fan. Anyways, I recently owned a 2009 Hyundai Sonata (Limited?) that I bought with 138,000 and sold with roughly 150,000. For the $4000 I paid for it, it was definitely a steal. Quiet interior, very ergonomic, heated leather, XM, larger factory discs, etc. These are excellent cars and very capable of going into higher mileages. I've noticed that Hyundai engines tend not to sound so great to the trained ear, but I've learned that most sound like that at higher mileages and it doesn't tend to be an indicator of the actual mechanical health. Congrats!

I've had those tyres before and they're actually pretty good tyres in the rain. And I think it has 400 threadware so they're fantastic for highway driving.I've mostly had Korean cars and I can safely say they're more reliable than people think so dont listen to people telling you it won't last and what not. That model Elantra is one of the best ever made and it should give you a hell of alot more miles without issue. Also this particular model actually has the 1.6 Gamma engine that produces 143HP and 138 ft lbs of torque.

Tavarish, it was an special day when you got the Elantra. I am glad not to be the only one that got an elantra in a similar way. it was a 2005 that I bought in 2009 in Chicago for 4,500 in Craiglist. The car still with me and I can't let it go. It is so good and now I have 165K. The person that sold it to me did change the radio for with a pioneer unit that had a GPS. Blue tooth and other thing that I don't even use. It is important to have good tires, you will not need an spare. JFP

Yes the steering wheel looks good because it is not leather. It is a polyurethane wheel which is used for lower trim levels. Also, I don't think you should compare interior build quality in that way. Maybe the cars you bought in the past weren't that well looked after. This car isn't that old. It just has a lot of miles so I don't think the amounts of use correlates with the miles. A car with one owner who maybe had no passengers who also looked after their car will obviously look better than one who did.

here's the funny thing. you're probably not old enough to remember when hyundai came to the US with the Accent. a total shitbox. It was like 6k or 8k in 1985 or so. one of its primary marketing strategies was to emphasize that it had a Panasonic stereo as if this meant he wasn't a cheap shitbox. in the intervening 30 years the Korean brands have really stepped up their game. a close friend had a bad wreck in a Sonata and walked away from it (turned in front of a speeding Mustang gt and was t-boned...in Florida). since your wife doesn't sound like a car person (yet) this is a good starter.

First Hyundai sold here was the Excel, for starting price of $4,995 in 1985. 3/36 Warranty, and most would not even last to 40,000 miles.

I just bought a Hyundai Elantra 2012 as well. Only mine truly is limited. Leather seats. Heated seats front and back. Black exterior black interior. (Doesn't bother me) Bought a spoiler for 100$ and installing a back up cam with nav system this week. It's pretty much as clean as yours and everything works well. Mine had 67,000 miles on it. now up to about 68 but still feels brand new. I also did not get a spare tire btw. It's very surprising. Also mine didn't come with the tools. No big. It was just surprising opening the trunk at the dealership. haha

Interesting. I just traded my nice 2003 Sentra XE with 91k miles and my 09 Accent HB with 101k miles for a very clean blue '14 Elantra SE with 87k miles. I LOVE my Elantra!!! Boy, I was hooked as soon as I drove it. What a nice car it is. I will baby it and I'm sure it will last me many years. It runs and drives like new. I think it has mostly highway miles also. She changed the oil every 3-4k miles. It's on Carfax.

267k miles on my '99 camry that I bought when it was a year old with 14k on it... No engine or transmission issues aside from 2 valve cover gaskets and a throttle body complete cleaning off the car, 3 timing belts, 3 radiators, 2 cooling fan motors, 1 set of struts and motor mounts and tie rod ends. That's about it.... Original alternator, starter, AC parts (live in FL) and a repaint...

The kia forte comes with a spare tire. My wife's current forte will be my son's first car in a couple of years. 104,000 and no issues. Struts are starting to pop a little and talking to kia service department they said I was lucky. They normally go out around 92,000 to 98,000.

They omitted the spare to save weight. That car can get almost 40 MPG on the highway!! I bought my wife a Limited w/o Nav in 2015. I purchased the spare tire kit just to be safe in case of a flat. The pump it came with includes that can of fix a flat! We love ours and I got it for the same price a Hyundai employee would pay. It was almost $6000.00 off MSRP

Tires are SO much better made today, that IMHO feeling you need a spare tire is more for your own peace of mind. I've been driving for 52 years and have yet to put on a spare tire while on the road. Even if there is an issue like a nail etc, you can get it to a tire shop for repair almost all the time. I've had that once or twice. I did buy a double cylinder tire pump that connects to the battery which will pump up a flat time in 1 1/2 minutes for more asssurance. It fits on my 2013 Elantra in one of the two impressions where the spare would be. The other impression (closest to the bumper) has a nice charged up battery starter if your battery should run too low to start. I feel w/ those two items I won't worry about breakdowns. I also maintain my car w/ hoses and belts etc. Cars are much more reliable now days so I'm good to go on a trip out of town w/ little worries. And yes, got good tires as well!

I just bought one with 164K. 2007 and it had one issue which is like the sway bar to pass Maryland inspection. Did some servicing and it is ready to go. My pimped out Cadillac Deville (i have 2) both had less than 100K and had major engine trouble that cost 2k - 3k for each to get fixed. Now i have only one.

I don't see your heated seats button was it somewhere on the seat in that model or you don't have the heated seats. So mine are heated front and back.
