You’re starting on a path that will change your life. … The more Queen you listen to the more you will fall in love with the band. Queen is the GOAT and you will never come to the end of their discography. You’ll start noticing that you’ve heard Queen all your life. If you’re into sports you’ve heard Queen. If you watch tv you’ve heard Queen in many commercials. You’ve heard Queen in movies. If you’ve watched Shaun of the Dead you heard Queen steal the best zombie killing bar brawl scene ever made in a movie… with one of their best songs Don’t Stop Me Now !! 🤣😂 Have fun I sort of envy you ! You’ll have so much fun discovering Queen!

P.s just heard your questions. I'm a fan since 1973 when I was 15. Freddie was such a good front man, they loved and love their fans, they used members of the fan club for videos for their songs. Freddie died yo young from aids sadly 18 months later new treatment arrived that would have kept him safe. He continued creating music until he became bedridden. The group always called themselves a family and you can hear the love and loss when they talk about Freddie. Enough of my ramblings can't say what are my favourite songs I would be typing forever. Xx

Let me introduce you the Queen: Freddie Mercury the lead singer and pianist, Brian May the guitarist, John Deacon the bassist and Roger Taylor the drummer. Queen is the most versatile rock band, they wrote their own stuff in several genres from rock to jazz, to pop, etc. about 200 songs. Freddie never took singing lessons, but his powerful and emotional performances are still legendary. I loved the movie Bohemian Rhapsody, that led me to the Queen's music and Freddie. But when I started to dig myself into the several books, interviews, documentaries I learned, that the real Freddie Mercury was very different to the depicted one. (I have never been interested in their music earlier, as you mentioned the same thing.) Pls, check out Fat Bottomed Girls at Milton Keynes 82, you'll love it.

I'm so glad you did research beyond the mostly fictional film. The amount of new supposed Queen fans I still see parroting nonsense from the film like it's fact is very annoying. They're only fans of a fictional band they saw on a movie.

@@faithpearlgenied-a5517 Yes, I didn't recognise the Freddie portrayed in the film. I cannot believe that Freddie Mercury was like the character portrayed there, although Rami Malek did a good enough job.

Freddie's life and his career was more interesting than the movie.

Yep, 🎶"Flash! AH - AH"🎶 Also, "Who Wants To Love Forever" was one of several songs Queen wrote for the 1986 film "Highlander".

If you're going to listen to "Somebody To Love" - & I highly recommend it! - do the studio version 1st then live version from Montreal 1981 (you can thank me later😁). Queen is regarded as one of the greatest live bands. There are so many fantastic songs in their catalogue! This is a rabbit-hole you'll be glad you jumped into!

100% agree with you for Somebody To Love. First Official Studio Video version to really get those harmonies. Then Live in Montreal 1981 to hear and see Queen powered by Mercury.

I love this song written by Brian for the Queen Soundtrack for the movie Highlander. Such a beautiful masterpiece and Freddie's voice is just the icing on the cake.

i have been a huge queen fan since 1976 and for me there is no group/band or singer that sounds as good as queen do LIVE even modern singer's/bands with all the computer enhancements they have dont stand a chance and that for me is what makes queen so special.

Queen was different. They were drawn to exploring where their creative efforts might take them - beyond the standard rock format. Four songwriters that work together. That's why BoRap really broke barriers for rock, launched with their video that changed how music would be marketed. Plus, at the end of the day, people felt GOOD listening to Queen. Their concerts entertained, were theatrical. Tastes change with age and perspective!

P.S. The difference was that when a group made an album back then, it was a listening experience. Some had a concept, some just a shared thread between songs. Songs could merge into each other or be stand alones.People came over to hear it together. Not like today, where everyone is a critic and wants to hand pick favorites...often never hearing the entire album presented by an artist.

Not sure if ive misunderstood you but Bo Rap wasn't a collab between them Freddie wrote and composed it orher than the solo

Fat Bottomed Girls is an incredible and humorous composition by Brian May supposedly about Freddie liking big butts, the performance is incredible and full of energy, especially in Milton Keynes, please check it out! And the band didn't change Freddie, they just played with other guest vocalists to keep the legacy of Queen and Freddie alive, many tributes were made throughout the shows. Adam Lambert has done a good job, he doesn't try to imitate or replace Freddie, Freddie would be proud of the members for carrying on despite the pain 💔. Hugs from Brazil

Great reaction! As a kid in the 70s and 80s, I can relate. I love the band, not a huge fan of the movie. Keep going down the rabbit hole… you won’t be sorry! So many song recommendations… And their live performances were always outstanding! Someone to love and Save Me from the 81 Montreal concert, anything from the 86 Wembley concerts, and of course, the 85 Live aid performance. I was 15 when live aid happened, and I remember being disappointed with many of the performances until Queen came on stage.

The movie was mostly fictionalized. Still, it's something. There are plenty of great videos on RU-vid talking about Queen from the beginning by those people who were there and knew the band. Look for them,

As great as their singles are, my favorite Queen songs are the deep cuts on the albums. Don't stick to the hits, explore the hidden gems as well. Live performances are usually better than the official videos (however, those are generally good as well). Queen stopped performing in 1986 so there are only official videos available for songs on the albums after that. Absolutely take the time to explore the 1st 3 albums. They aren't well-known to the general public, but are usually cited as the favorites of die hard Queen fans.

Take the movie with a pinch of salt. It moves events about and so is a bit dis-satisfying if you already know the history of Queen
