Why Did I Wait So Long To Make This Harvest Apron? I Love It!

I cannot tell you how I have loved using this harvest apron so far! My garden isn't producing much yet but I am glad I had it on when I went to "check" on things yesterday. I was able to pick a couple zucchini and some malibar spinach and still have my hands free to tie up some things and collect eggs.
I have especially loved using it to gather raspberries with. I love how I can put a basket in it and just throw them in as I pick. It has reduced the amount of time I spend picking!
Here is the pattern to the apron. Remember that I made some updates as I worked so be sure to check back with the video as you are making it if you have questions...

Here is a link to the tool I used to mark my seam allowance on the sewing machine,..

I hope you are all doing well, thanks so much for watching and I hope you enjoy your harvest apron as well. Let me know if you have any questions.
Blessings,
Penny

Well it's nice to see you using chicken math - sewing from one chicken to the other AND getting all your chicks in a row. LOL My granddaughter has that same fabric for curtains in her camper. Great minds right? I even used some for a scrap quilt for my SIL since she had 2 chickens that had wandered into her yard and just stayed) and she LOVED them. The rooster that blew up during a hurricane) came inside to roost at night - under her computer desk. He left in the morning early (so not to make a mess) a real gentleman. I love the basket in a basket idea!!!! The best part is it stays open so all you do is harvest and toss. Genious! Maybe I'll take a shortcut and just cut off the top of a milk and run a belt through the handle and strap it on - the hardest part is remembering to take it with me - My T-shirts are all completely stained with harvest from gathering in the front - sounds like that is a common way to harvest. I loved your instructions as you go slow enough and cover all the tiny details - fabulous job.

Hi Mary! Absolutely great minds! That sounds really cute in a camper! My my, she did get a very kind rooster gentleman! That is so funny. I like your idea of the milk carton and belt. That would work pretty well too. I’m glad I’m not the only one with stained T-shirts! I think you’re right, it is a very common thing. My granddaughter even does it. I think I’m going to make her her own harvest apron. I think she will love it! Thanks so much for watching friend, and for your comment as well! Blessings on your day! ❤️

Penny what a clever idea! Love the chicken fabric. You should start selling these because you are not at all busy lol. Love you reused things you already had. Blessings on you and yours

Hey Barb, when did you become a stand-up comedian? 🤣🤣🤣 I actually thought that would be fun to do but like you said, when would I do it? Thanks so much for watching and for your fun comment! Blessings on you as well, my friend! 😁❤️

Love the apron! I wish I had so many veggies growing that I needed one, lol. Unfortunately, between the mid-90s temps and the caterpillars moving in, my garden has suddenly gone from going great to sad already. Time for re-planting already, daw-done it.

Oh Shari, I am so sorry about the caterpillars. Are they butterfly caterpillars? If not, you could use BT on them. It is great for any kind of soft bodied pest. You can just spray your plant and when they bite in they die. As for the heat, I just watched videos this morning about Surround Kaolin Clay and how it can cool your plants by 5-15 degrees. All you do is mix it in water and spray it on. It coats the plant and protects it from pests and cools it as well. Here is a good video to watch... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-V_oU5U9rSlU.htmlsi=EZnEBng4hFtumXq7 Maybe this will help. It was good to hear from you. Blessings my friend!

I am going g to try this but I think I will use bias tape to sew the three pieces together before adding a seam for the elastic.

Great Helen, I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine. That sounds like a great plan with the bias tape. You could email me a picture when you’re done. I would love to see it! Pennylingo@gmail.com Have fun! 😁❤️
