He lost because Aipac gave his opponent more money than had ever in American history been spent in a Congressional race. ,and because his district was gerrymandered last year to include Westchester country and its swath of voters who were unlikely yote vote for him.
This sounds like the district gerrymandering had a heavy Jewish influence. This is New York and Jews have a lot of power. But Bowman is an idiot to me. He is a follower, not a leader, and issues pertaining to blacks wasn't his top priority. Blacks in the Bronx backed the wrong horse in 2020 and paid for it.
@bennieparker4143 How would you explain the defeat of former Ohio senator Nina Turner and former Maryland representative Donna Edwards during the midterm?
Jamal Bowman was not smart as a politician. However he personally felt about Gaza, his district had far too many people with ties to Israel for him to be as critical as he was. He should have left harsh criticism of Israel to people in safer districts. I also heard that he made no outreach to the Jewish community after the October 7 attacks by Hamas on Israel. A few visits expressing sympathy with Jewish victims would have given him political cover for measured criticism of how Israel has pursued the war. Bowman, however, made a mistake in getting too deep in a conflict between two groups of white people. Such a move would inevitably end with him getting kicked to the curb. I feel too many younger African Americans have forgotten how vulnerable we are and wasting political capital on someone else’s fight. I am old enough to remember how Dearborn, Michigan, the heart of the Arab American community, was in famous in the Detroit area for its hostility to Blacks and Arab shop keepers routinely shot Black folks in altercations. It has only been recently that these groups have worked to develops ties with African Americans to bolster support for the Palestinian cause.
Your 2nd paragraph is GOLD. The White power structure is bigger than “them folks” they like to hyper focus on. They only call out one side of White Power and think that’s doing something lol. I call it the Eurasian Invasion. They are a confederate against thee (Black People around the world). They even got some of us to help them. The ones of us that do help them are especially dangerous to us because they’re sleeper cells put into our communities to destroy us from inside out.
Was he for reparations for BA? If not, he was tap dancing lol. Y’all think just because he called out that war means he’s on BA side lol. How about our war against White Supremacy here in America? The White Power structure is bigger than just “them folks” y’all like to hyper focus on.
He is in a district that is made up of a ton of Jewish people . His stance on Israel did him in. The district is primarily Jewish or least the Jewish people in that district had the funds as usually to get what they want
I live in NYC. The city and surrounding counties have a very significant and powerful Jewish population, but it’s unknown to me how many of those people are pro-Israel. Bowman made a statement on the Israel-Gaza situation that he couldn’t avoid. Inlike other areas of this country, you cannot run for a major office and not have a declared position on the Israel/Palestine conflict. The NYC mayor and the NYS governor will tell you this. Whatever happens in that part of the world has ripple effect here. In this area, the news media will pressure you into declaring your position on Israel. It is a hot button topic. Politicians here have had to pick a side because that’s the way it is. You’re either pro-Israel or you’re not. If you are, you win elections in NYC and NYS. If not, you lose elections. Sure, Bowman is a progressive, but he lost largely due his calls for a ceasefire, which is seen by pro-Israel voters and the AIPAC lobby as anti-Semitic. If you’re Ritchie Torres, another NYC area member of Congress, and you are pro-Israel, you get cash bags from AIPAC. His constituents could vote him out, however, because they’re unhappy with him. Before this latest conflict started, Bowman was winning elections even with some Jewish support. Choosing to criticize Israel in any way is seen as anti-Semitic and too far left. The recent redistricting did add to Bowman’s problem. AIPAC is POWERFUL. Remember, AIPAC doesn’t care about political parties it donates to candidates who are PRO-Israel only, regardless if they’re Democrat or Republican. George Latimer who is a moderate Democrat, will likely get to stay in office for as long as he wants-and as long as he remains pro-Israel. AIPAC are making plans to go after AOC next.
Jamaal Bowman lost because of his unneeded stunts that were made public-including aligning with the female dominated Squad. He lost to George Latimer in the primary and Latimer is the heavy favorite to win because it’s a deeply blue district
Pulling stunts for folks who think they're better than you, will get you in trouble every time. It won't be enough, no mater what it is. Bowman never pulled a fire alarm for his own kind, and never will.
Jamal Bowman lost because of his own gaffs, like pulling fire alarms, and his candidate George Latimer was better liked than him, ask any African American in Westchester County about George Latimer’s reign as the Westchester County executive and they will tell you he did a fantastic Job, despite people trying to paint him as a racist he always had African American Support through his years in politics in Westchester County, N.Y. which constists of quite a few towns and cities including the cities Mount Vernon, New Rochelle and Yonkers which have substancial black populations
Its rare that I ever agree with Lady Boule. But she's a good content creator and speaks eloquently so I continue to tune in. She reminds me of my grandmother, who I also rarely agree with on political issues. In this video, however, I agree with EVERYTHING she said. All her points were spot on! As silly as it may sound, I knew Bowman's days were numbered when he pulled that fire alarm.
@@ladyboule - She's a wonderful lady! One of the reasons I listen to her (even though I don't agree) is because I know she's much smarter and wiser than me! I never claim to know everything or have all the answers, so I make it a point to listen to (and learn from) different perspectives. Thank you for the content you produce 🙏
I agree that he shouldn’t have put himself out there, but have to push back on your opinion of the squad. People were excited when they went to congress bc they didn’t accept corporate donations and couldn’t be bought off. They were for policies such as universal healthcare, $15 p/h minimum wage, police reform, etc. However, they soon fell in line and became just another corporate democrat. We need forward thinking elected officials bc what we have now are politicians like Maxine Waters & Jim Clyburn who have been in office since 1942 & they ain’t doing anything for blacks people!! They need to go! That includes an 81 year old man running for president again 🤦🏾♀️
@@rhondasmith3553 so except the consequences . See I don’t believe that. You’re probly one of those people that don’t vote anyway and then complain about everything. Please tell me why you feel the need to announce that you aren’t voting. Who are you trying to influence with that nonsense
@@truefacts404 That’s where you’re wrong. I vote in every election including local elections. It’s my right to vote or not to vote and I won’t be shamed if I choose to sit this one out if neither candidate does not offer tangibles to the black community.
@@rhondasmith3553 let’s not be over the top . Of course it’s your right to until it isn’t .. This is the internet . You could be in China. Offering tangibles and delivering them are 2 different things . Republicans don’t even try . They want to offer you Jom Crow 2.0.. Again we have no king so a presidential candidate can offer the moon but if he doesn’t have both houses the point is moot
While I agree with the majority of the comments and your personal analysis as well. I do fully understand the sentiment of those who object to the slaughtering of innocent people in Palestine and anywhere else in the world. Especially when 🤔 the genocide is being waged by weapons purchased with our tax dollars. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr was not assassinated because of his demands for justice and equality for black people, but rather for his vocal objections to the Vietnam War and his condemnation of USA foreign policy in Vietnam.
He lost because he turned his back on the Black community. He was against reparations ever since he was elected in 2020. He only got on board with reparations just before reelection. He prioritized the Palestinians over his own people. The question should be why didn't the Palestinians vote for Jamaal Bowman? He had their back but they didn't have his back.
They’re gonna get enough of standing up for the Palestinians. Blacks need to stay out of the conflict. That war will continue until the end, according to the Bible! So, nothing we say will change that conflict! Blacks make me sick sticking their nose in that conflict, and end up losing their good jobs!
Sorry, bro, not true. Reparation played a small part of this issue. If black American were really interested in reparation, they would have been fully supporting it. Black American have bigger fish to deal with, like everyday, bread and butter issues. You are however correct about the Palestinian, they didn't vote for him either for the same reason, white people didn't vote for him, he is black. And those so-called Hispanics did not vote for him too. He is a black man.
That's just what he should have said. I hope no human being wants to see the death and destruction that war causes. Prays change things and situations. Let's pray for peace 🙏 ❤
He lost because he spoke out against the people who have no power or money in freaking New York of all places. They spent millions to defeat him, and there you go. Mr. Bowman should have known that no one is allowed to criticize that particular country.
I am a black New Yorker and to be accurate according to a 2021 U.S. Census Bureau QuickFacts, 72.2% of Westchester County, New York's population is white alone including Hispanic whites. Westchester County is one of the top 10 ten richest counties in the US. The district doesn't include the "South Bronx" It has a sliver of the northeast Bronx some of which is black. And the Riverdale section of the Bronx on the Hudson river which is white and Jewish. So it ain't a black district.
The small portion of the Bronx his district includes a very wealthy Jewish neighborhood. Westchester NY is a very wealthy suburb of NYC with a sizeable hebrew population and for him to take stance against Israel was the final nail in the coffin for Jamaal.
As a public figure, you are set to a high standard. Slowly but surely, these childish, arrogant stunts Jamaal Bowman did cost him his renomination in New York’s 16th congressional district centered in Mt. Vernon and Nee Rochelle. Alignment with the female leadership of The Squad, his stance on the Israel/Hamas war, and all the other stunts cost him the seat. The Democratic primary winner, George Latimer, is expected to win the election because it’s a deeply blue district
Bowman messed up he loaded against the infrastructure deal as well as union jobs. He didn't do anything but participate on issues outside of this district.
Seriously!???? Pretty sure Bowman cosponsored not 1 but 2 resolutions on reparations. And I have been a Free Palestine stan since 1979 right along with Andrew Young and Angela Davis.
@@mordakie3805 No. fool. Tlaib has a HUGE Middle Eastern and Black voters in a large black city of Detroit on her side. She is not going anywhere soon.
I do not live in New York. What do you have against her when she SPEAKS out for HER community. What is wrong with that? She does what she is elected to do, fight for HER community. Get over it.
