His openers are likely to secure him the gold without any competition and it looks like 230 / 270 is achievable this year and given the ongoing issues with the governing body it's questionable if there will even be weightlifting in Paris in 2024 (assuming he wants to do it on the biggest stage) so I think this is the year to go for it.
If Lasha is really feeling it we will see 215-223(WR)-230(Avanti) in the Snatch and something like 250-265(WR)-270(Avanti) in the C&J. But I guess it will be more conservative like 207-215-223(WR) and 248-258-265(WR). Asanidze seems to be pretty conservative in weight selection and wants to simply secure new World Records.
Yeah, not bad. 72kg female powerlifter can do same. But yeah, i quess it's kinda impressive. I can deadlift 500 in impressive units, so i think i'm actually more impressive. [Lasha please don't kill me]
If you need a stronger overhead for your snatch we have a specific program for it! www.sikastrength.com/product/fix-your-snatch/ Pick the weak overhead one.
I love the video. Your channel is really special, love it. Would love to see a video about things you can do on off days. Like work that is less essential, less schedules than accessory work. Things like barbell stretching, mashing, recovery stuff, advice about activities you can do to not have a crappy feeling rest day (walking, hiking, biking, swimming, etc)
Well I've never done a proper Olympic lift myself. And never personally know anyone who does the lifts, other than maybe attempting to try for fun with an empty bar. So I'd say I'm an expert in the field. I don't see why lasha couldn't get more than 500kg total. Why not 510? 230 snatch 280 c&j. That's just a random Wednesday for lasha the great.
Lasha's doing these incremental WRs only because WRs are paid in the Georgian team in this specific way. No point in setting the bar that high if he then won't be able to beat it and set a new record again.
@@giorgisulukhia1574 that seems likely to me too. the incrementalist approach of adding a kilo at a time to break a world record/personal best seems like the normal strategy for top level lifters.
Yeezus, what a spoiler this is for the Olympics. No foot, too? Yeah, he's getting ready for that 500kg total. I'm confident he'll be smart, work his way up to the 215/220 in the back, hit his first attempt, and use the last two attempts for 230 kg.
It's near impossible to make that 500, it is still 5 kg higher than his gym PRs that we know of! I just hope he hits a 225/268 at least to get some records but man even for Lasha that 500 seems so far away. I'd love to be proven wrong though.
why would someone who is already the greatest of all time stop 5kg short of making absolute history?? A lesser lifter might not try for 500, but I wouldnt be able to understand anything else from lasha. he has the mindset of a champion. he will try for 500 no matter what.
