That’s a beautiful thing. Allowing Yaweh while giving up worldly value! Having full freedom not bound to that of which the world values as freedom. You will achieve true freedom. Victory is in death not in life. Not leaning on religion and leaning on the word will not allow Man’s foolishness to influence your relationship with Yaw…. It’s beautiful
The moral of the story is to depend and trust on God not your own understanding. Same with Sarah, she did not have complete trust in God even though God promised Abraham an heir.
So god is in favor of incest now? God with the allpowerful, allknowing, allloving etc. thing going on had to let lot do the incest. God should have done a better job than this.

I think what this story shows is that sexual sin was really rampant in sodom they did it without thinking and therefore must of been so use to seeing it everywhere growing up that they didn't even know how wrong it was
The laws of God provided what he wanted in his people. Sodom and Gomorrah did not conform to that which God had wanted, but rather we’re totally evil, and he destroyed them. This is much the same as the destruction of the world that resulted in Noah’s Ark. Again, Gods want of obedient people and not those who were evil caused the destruction of the world.
Ezekiel 16: 49 Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fullness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.
It's a scary thought to imagine how we each may have chosen to live had we been an Abraham or a Lot in those times. Lord help us in this perverse day, fraught with so many distractions and temptations.

@@ktrimbach5771 was at this time that He went off to the mountain to pray, and He spent the whole night in prayer to God. And when day came, He called His disciples to Him and chose twelve of them, whom He also named apostles. (Luke 6:12-13) Twelve men responded to the call to be disciples of Jesus. They were Jews, uneducated commoners, and simple men of faith who gave up everything to be followers of Christ. Jesus spent three years training these men to be leaders. Jesus’ plan was to eventually have the disciples take over and carry on the work He had started. What we know to be true about Jesus is that He chose ordinary and unrefined men to be his apostles. They were the commonest of the common. They were from rural areas, farmers, and fisherman. Christ purposely passed over the elite, aristocratic, and influential men of society and chose mostly the men from the dregs of society. That’s how it has always been in God’s economy. As a student of of genetics I have often pondered these biblical accounts of incest. Lot and his daughters, Noah and his family after the flood. Even Adam and Eve being the parents of humanity. Perhaps the human genome was so pure at that time that mutations and the magnification of defective genes that results from inbreeding was not an issue.
@@vward4871 Yes, My opinion is that the Human gene pool was much smaller than the 8 billion people we have today. There was no chemical pollution that can cause chromosomal damage and natural selection, survival of the fittest allowed for a healthier population less likely to pass on diseases or genetic defects.

@@UndercoverScambaiterI think you already answered your question; "and face consequences for doing so." You'd be found to be wrong in your belief. Tell me, is it prudent after careful contemplation, to ignore what you believe?
@@UndercoverScambaiter In other words, it's a matter of faith. Faith being the belief of things unseen. Everyone has a worldview, whether they're conscious of it or not, concerning the unknown. For instance, is there a creator or is all of reality the result of nature. There's not an either or and everyone has a belief. If there's not a creator, how should I respond morally? If there is a creator, how should I respond morally? Just because you have a belief, doesn't necessarily fallow you'll adhere to that belief. Sometimes for convivence sake or for some other desire, people will ignore that faith. In a nutshell, I saying everyone has faith, faith in something. You asked the question, "But what about if you chose the wrong God and face consequences for doing so"? I responded, " I think you already answered your question; "and face consequences for doing so." You'd be found to be wrong in your belief. Tell me, is it prudent after careful contemplation, to ignore what you believe"? Now I adhere to a Christian worldview. I think after a careful examination of scriptures. That God holds every individual accountable for all the moral choices we make daily, throughout our lives. Even if we didn't believe in his existence. Did we do what we knew to be right? The answer is an affirmative no. For no one is perfect and we all violate routinely, even our own sense of what's right verses what's wrong. The Bible says that God holds us accountable for all of our actions. It's this accountability because we're morally corrupt creatures. That if God left us to ourselves, we'd spend an eternity apart from him. The good news is that God doesn't leave us to ourselves. He has provided the means, to restore our moral depravity and in doing so the relation between creator and creature is restored for all of eternity. It's in this context of morality i.e. the morality that you believe to be true. that I made the statement. "Tell me, is it prudent after careful contemplation, to ignore what you believe?" We all ignore what we believe to be true, and God will hold us accountable for our delinquency. Whether we believe in his existence or not. It all comes down to our morality or lack thereof it. Yet God is gracious and offers his grace to all, all who will accept it. Even the vilest of offenders can come under the umbrella of his grace.

This presentation of the story of Lot is so deep! I have never dealt with it from these perspectives. Enlightning! Thank you. One of the challenges we face today is how to deal with this issue and sexual inchastity in todays world. Yes, this is the true challenge: how to put yourself in the shoes of others and not to treat them like an adversary, but rather like your own beloved son or daughter that you want good for them.
- Follow the Bible, which explains that for about 2,500 years, incest was completely normal during the time periods of Adam’s & Eve’s family, to Noah & his family, to Abraham & Sarah (half-siblings) along with Lot and his family, in fact, incest was not called a sin until Moses’ time period in the 1500s BC. - The Bible’s text and context do not look down on, judge, or condemn Lot and his daughters, and neither do Jesus, who said Lot was saved by the angels from God’s judgment of Sodom, or Peter, who calls him “Righteous Lot,” explaining that Lot did not follow in the ways of the wicked people in Sodom. - Don’t add to, change, or take away from God’s word, follow God’s perspective explained in the Bible.
@joanarc7963• There was no rule like that at that time and incest was regularly practice between people at that period. There is not one verse in the Bible that condemns Lot, in fact, God blessed Lot’s descendants and tells Israel not to attack them when taking over then land.
@joanarc7963• And in that event with Noah and his family, it does not say Ham was the youngest - listed as Shem, Ham, Japheth multiple times - or that Ham did wrong for just seeing his father naked. Noah cursed Canaan not Ham. But why was Canaan even mentioned in this story? If you think about how in ancient times that the patriarch would often call grandchildren his sons also, and that Sodom was in the land of Canaan, then we can understand that Canaan was the youngest son and that he did something to Noah. It is possible that Canaan might have sodomized Noah while he slept, which would explain why Noah curses Canaan not Ham.
Yeah, incest was certainly mandatory for a good long while if you believe the creation story. God coulda poofed a few hundred thousand humans into being right off the bat, but he went about things in a very pragmatic way back in the good old days😅
@@skippy675 • Well, if you believe in the “theory of evolution”, all reproduction is incest, since all Life is directly related to one another as common descendants - so either way incest is required - but the “theory of evolution” has no explanation for now evolutionary common descendants survived the major biological issues from incest. - Today, this so called “theory” has already been disproven by empirical (observable) evidence in current Science, revealing that mutations destroy DNA casing harm to life and nature removes genetic variations by causing death to life. - So now its claims are exposed as contrary to how life actually works in reality, and shown to be an unscientific fictional origin story equivalent to pagan myth, which also worshipped the universe earth life nature for making itself, just like those who believe in the “theory of evolution”.
@@skippy675 • According to the Biblical text and context, along with what Science has revealed in Biology about Life… - Humans were made in God’s own image and likeness as perfect eternal beings that are different than plants and animals, with the capacity for self-awareness, free will and choice, reason, and able to produce beings in their own image, humans are made to be like gods able to rule the entire Earth [and they have], and during their time in the Garden, incest wouldn’t have been a problem at all since they had perfect DNA with no mutations and vast genetic variation. - However, after breaking their agreement with God and being removed from the Garden, the entire creation began to die over time. Since Adam & Eve had perfect DNA, meaning no mutations in their DNA and a lot of genetic variation, early humans had no major biological issues with incest, for about 3,500 years. - It was around the 1500s BC that God establish the Law through Moses that explained not to have incest in direct families, so while the rest of the world, especially in royal families, direct familial incest continued until about the 1900s AD, Israel knew to end direct family incest. - Other nations also heard of the Law, but they rejected it and God for their own religions and gods that allowed direct familial incest.
Truly the story of lot in his family is a tragic one in many ways but in second Peter, it does refer to lot as being righteous. Glory be to God it is by faith and only faith that one is deemed righteous.

There is a lot to the story that is almost never mentioned. First, God visited Terah and his house in Ur. Remember it was Terah that moved his family to the land of Canaan. Yes, Abraham is the father of the nation of Israel but Terah is the root. Second, Abraham had several visitations from God: land of Ur, Melchizedek; the high priest of Salem without beginning or ending of days with no descent. So, when Abraham met the 3 approaching his tent, he recognized God amongst the two angels. Third, because of the faith of Terah and Abraham God will protect their descent. That's why God was sure to preserve Lot. Fourth, God told Abraham and Abraham told Lot to keep the Terah blood line clean or not to marry those of the land of Canaan. Lot continued his bloodline via his two daughters the same as Jacob married his 4 nieces--all from the descent of Terah. There are several YT channels that talk about Terah--it's very interesting for sure.
Sodom and Gomorrah in the Bible was defined by one word…wicked. Now the people of Sodom were wicked and were sinning greatly against the Lord. - Genesis 13:13 Despite the wickedness of the city, for some reason Lot was drawn to live near this city which leads us to the first of four inconvenient truths in this biblical account:
@@georgekantstandu4501God never leaving or forsaking mankind is clearly demonstrated in His willingness to let His creation of man & woman (Noah and his family/descendants) to live, be fruitful & multiply - the flood was His judgement of sin, which mankind only has himself to blame for.

Gen 19:30 Now Lot went up out of Zoar and lived in the hills with his two daughters, for he was afraid to live in Zoar. So he lived in a cave with his two daughters. Gen 19:31 And the firstborn said to the younger, “Our father is old, and there is not a man on earth to come in to us after the manner of all the earth. Gen 19:32 Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve offspring from our father.” A small conundrum. The daughters did not think there was a man on earth so they could bear children. SO we can safely assume they thought mankind had died. Where did t hey get the wine from?? :))
Exactly the wine? Also Zoar was there so mostly from there. That they were afraid shows Lot was afraid even more. Why not settle in Zoar? Most likely traumatized thinking if this land is corrupted we can’t live there cause the samething will probably happen or it’s possible the people at Zoar witness from far the destruction and if they knew Lot was the only survivor could see him as a curse to them. So Lot decided to just isolate. But them girls had to go down to Zoar.
Shalom, The title of this video is an interesting one, because we do not have to guess why Lot's daughters did what they did and it doesn't even require a 13 minute video because we are told the reason. Reasons that this video does not even share, so this video in order to prove its point ignores the very truth of the Bible. Gen 19:30 And Lot went up out of Zoar, and dwelt in the mountain, and his two daughters with him; for he feared to dwell in Zoar: and he dwelt in a cave, he and his two daughters. Gen 19:31 And the firstborn said unto the younger, Our father is old, and there is not a man in the earth to come in unto us after the manner of all the earth: Gen 19:32 Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father. You claim Lot did not fully trust in YHWH's plan unlike Abraham, except the entire time Abraham was in Egypt he demonstrated he did not trust in YHWH's plan. Fact YHWH promised him an heir, but when he went to Egypt Abraham lied about his relationship with Sarah, because he was afraid the Egyptians would kill him, which had he not lied and the Egyptians had killed him as he feared would have proved YHWH to be a liar, in short Abraham was never going to die at least until he had a son. The daughters sleeping with their father had nothing to do with an understanding of ethical and moral norms, but was about preservation, also can we place the same ethical and moral norms found not only today but within the Mosaic covenant on those before the covenant. I mean Abraham married his sister which would by today standards and those within the Mosaic covenant would show Abraham also had no understanding of ethical and moral norms.
This is the truth they where just trying to preserve Lots seed there were no other men for them to preserve the seed of Lot and God only saved Lot because he counted him righteous answer Abrahams prayer people think God didn’t answer Abrahams prayer but he did that’s why he save Lot Glory be to God who is so good Amen
I appreciate and respect your take. God bless. I know to outsiders and skeptics on the abnormality of the daughters lying with their father; you eloquently explained why because it was about the preservation of Lot’s seed, especially since Lot is one of God’s prophets. God knows the abnormality of incest, hence why later in the Torah through time and generations, Yahweh explains who’s nakedness belongs to as he was setting the boundaries on marrying, lying and seeing the nakedness of your relatives. Especially, with the populations dispensing and growing with numbers.
Everyone acts on their own desires. Even the people who claim they are doing as God commanded are ultimately just doing what they desire since there’s no way to distinguish what one desires and what God desires.
It was a beautiful presentation as usual. Just a minor correction in a chronological sense, it is true that they left Ur after Lot's father's death, but according to both the Septuagint and Masoretic texts, Abraham and Lot left Haran before Terah's death. Terah did still have one son there in Haran.

True dat.. We shall never know; that's why we modern christians are so arrogant (prideful) about our dogmatic beliefs in the religious universities and churches in this modern age
It certainly appears that there were no righteous men where they came from and likely none where they were. Lot was now without his wife, perhaps a bit old now. None of them would have wanted an unrighteous, impure behaving husband for the daughters . A terrible situation to be in. Honoring and preserving the righteousness God found in Lot, very likely became the best option at that time and circumstance. We however are not found in that predicament in these days, praise God .
sex in ancient society was all about pro-creation, they did not have the luxury of the "pill" or painless abortions. Also The levirate law proves this point. Meaning a brother was suppose to marry his sister in law if his married brother died without having a boy to carry on the name. Sex is about pleasure in today's society-not procreation. It's a different application of the scriptures these days! These days We do everything sexual out of pleasure, but Lots daughters acted out of logic and the need to pro-create their new existence... Actually they were very practical about this story incident. It wasn't that they were pervert women, then needed children!
Strange to think Lot has the same grandfather as Issac making them 1st cousins. Got to be the biggest age difference I seen between cousins since Isaac wasn't even born yet and his daughter's were grown. These daughter would have been in the same generation as Jacob and Easu and thier sons would have been in the same generation as Jacob kids.
Shows us the.power of free will, but also lot had no faith to withstand the problem s of life and there was no word from God about his future, but was still useful in His planes for history
I mean Peter refer to him as righteous I mean he was raped basically. Sounds like he’s the victim of maternal incest like Ham with his mother who begets Canaan the curse child.
Everyone must remember only one person walked on water. The other family members-bloodlines had sin In them. They were not perfect, they were not the living son of God. Just family.
This begs the question of why lot thought there were righteous in Sodom when there were not any. What about righteousness did not not understand. And was he deceived or was he ignorant. and why was God with his ignorance or deception

The Bible says that his daughters were under the impression that there were no people left on earth and that if they didn't have any children there'd be no one left so being a lowly human and not knowing that the destruction did not happen to the whole planet they did this act. The further back you go in time, the less problem you'll have with DNA mistakes. It would take to long to explain that but I think you get the gist. It wasn't that they had a "thing" for their father. Yes, the very thought makes me "ad nauseum" but you must remember they had no modern ways like we do today. People were not by law sent to school and receive a formal education like we do. That makes a world of difference. You have to stand back and look at the entire puzzle.

Ham sin against his father? When Ham saw his father naked..Ham was indulged at Noa's time AS THE SORDID acts he did to his father. That's why Noah cursed HAM..
Canaan was guilty of some abuse or perversion against his grandfather. Ham witnessed this and didn’t interfere but spread the story. Noah’s other sons Shem and Japheth, acted to cover their father. They were blessed for this reason, but Canaan was cursed, and Ham suffered as a result of the shame brought upon his offspring!
@joanarc7963 The curse that was placed on Canaan was a "prophetic curse" against Canaan and his descendants, because of what they were going to introduce into Society on a grand scale. The "vile act" that Ham carried out on Noah would be later replicated throughout the land of Canaan by the Canaanites who were descendants of Canaan, Noah's grandson. The Canaanites were even more Immoral than their Grand father Ham was, and took his vileness to another level by spreading this practice throughout their land. We see an example of this in Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities of the plains where Lot and his family went to dwell, Angels were sent to deliver them out before the cities were destroyed, yet still Lot's daughters were already tainted by the influence of daily life in these cities. In the book of the law Leviticus, is where you find a run down of all the vile acts the children of Israel were warned not to commit, that the Canaanites regularly practiced. Also the Children of Israel were told that when they should possess the Promised Land which was the Land of Canaan that they should not spare anyone there to live, but to destroy them utterly, lest the Israelites become corrupted by their practices and influence and should commit Sin before God.
Lot and Abraham parted because they were both "wealthy" by having scads of cattle, sheep, etc. so Abraham said....(I'm paraphrasing) we both have a lot of wealth so let's split up and if you go left I'll go right, etc. I think it was strictly because they didn't want to be bickering over water for herds, etc.
God never condones incest or drunkenness. (Leviticus 18:6,7; 1 Corinthians 6:9,10) Lot and his daughters were aliens in the land and there was no one of their kindred with whom to enter into marriage and preserve the extinction of Lot’s family. Remember, the future sons-in-law of Lot died in Sodom! The account is in the Bible to reveal the relationship of the Moabites (through Moab) and the Ammonites (through Benammi) to Abraham’s descendants, the Israelites.
I don’t know if it was because of fear of finding a husband or plain lust from living in a sinful lustful rebellious city and being influenced by it. Their mother showed a rebellious attitude by looking back turning into salt. The father had to be dragged by angels outside the city. A little leaven !!!!!
@@gj0628 no doubt they had been influenced by growing up in Sodom, but it's highly unlikely they were just lusting for their father. They wanted to get pregant and carry on their lineage, and they didn't think there were any men left besides their father.
Lack of faith that God would provide them with a future husband. They thought after the destruction there was not any men left but you can't tell me that was all that was left in the world was that cave or what ever they were sitting in. These women just assumed rather than look at the world around them. No way would I do it with my dad if he was the last guy on Earth. That is a whole other level of nasty.
That's so disgusting how that man slept with his own daughters and have children that very nasty you do that with your children.because commited a big sin
The daughters led a life of privilege in Sodom and may have despised the men of Zoar, the one town that was spared, or been prejudiced by the wrath being visited upon the Canaanites and not on them or their father. Their father may have been the only suitable male in their eyes. We don't know if they viewed the entire world as having been destroyed like in the age of Noah. They may have considered it a matter of survival for Lot's righteous line and it was out of loyalty to their father--in a twisted way.
The narrative webs surrounding the story of Loth and his two daughters are filled with uncertainty. According to the tale, on the first day, the elder daughter slept with Loth, and on the second day, it was the latter. The astonishing aspect of this account is that both daughters became pregnant immediately after a single act of copulation.
@@narcissistinjurygiver2932 Your argument holds great significance. We interpret it as "he was unaware of her comings and goings of his daughters for intercourse" It is noteworthy that the narrator of this anecdote was likely unfamiliar about the intricacies of human physiology and relationships at the time of copulation. With even a basic understanding and a single experience, one would not believe this fabricated tale of Lot and his daughters.
Nice apologist acrobatics, this still does not explain why this Omniscient (all knowing) and Omnipotent (all powerful) being plays all these idiotic, psychopathic and sadistic games with his creation which he supposedly "loves".
This blame on Lot and his daughters ís not in Muslim religious scriptures. Muslims shudder to this narration and suspect some interpolation like allegation on number one lady of world chosen by God Mother Mary mother of Jesus the Christ the Jewish Messiah the Great Prophet of God. Lot, his daughters,Mother Mary all are chaste and God fearing.
