Thanks for establishing the context of these letters. I actually wondered if the dispute had more to do with Paul’s inexplicable demands about dumb stuff like head coverings and women being silent in church. Now I’m wondering if women challenged him and those terrible verses were his “solution” to quiet his opposition.
