Ayesha R.A is THE biggest scholar of Islam, most of hadith are from her.. if she had a problem she would have said it. She was alive for many years after death of Prophet Muhammad p.b.u.h..

Not 1400 years ago, even 100 years ago in texas you can married 13 years old. You can't wear 21st century eyes to 6th century norm. Even the enemies of Prophet Muhammad SAW were not attacking and make this age issue as problem, because it was a normal norm in 6th century. But now missionaries and apologists make this issue as violating 21st century norm.

Everyone stops at the age of Aisha marriage not following how she loved Muhammad and how she described him as the best man and that he never treated her badly. How she became the biggest narrator of hadiths about Muhammad, and how she taught Muslim women, and how she did not marry after that because she loved Muhammad so much. They only look at the age penalty and compare it to our time, in which standards and principles differ. It does not matter at all, the only matter that Aisha was a woman, Young, yes, but she was prepared and ready for marriage, and this was a custom not only among the ancients or among the Arabs. Young girls were married after they reached puberty, but in all ancient civilizations. The problem of morality in the early marriage of girls and the age difference are merely innovations that have no moral or scientific basis to cast doubt on the prophecy and purity of Muhammad. Aisha would not have married another man at that age if he wanst a prophet and had high and noble morals. She offered to him as a TRUST, and the Messenger fulfilled and kept the trust and made of her a Lighthouse for believing women. This is what the enemies of Islam do not tell you.

Teen marriage was extremely common in the old times, because people didn't live that long, it was a way of ensuring descendance. They also had to mature really quickly because of the harsh environement, a 9 year old in the 14th century, had to bring water from wells, take care of the animals, work to bring food. The reason why our Prophet had many marriages was to shed light on people in the age of ignorance through kinship relations, in the manner of a teacher. It was not his choice but Allah's order.

I loved this video and yes, those times were different and today's time is different. I think that people who question our Prophet PBUH about marrying Ayesha RA in such a disgusting way have very disturbing mindsets. My grandmothers got married at young ages - my mom's mom married at 13! Its only recently where now we question getting married so young and why....of course this was the norm for everyone all the way till after the 1960s, and then people started to think about women's rights and education. Today, its actually SO MUCH MORE HARDER to find a spouse! I'm single at 42 - no one in my family has ever been this age and not married (well, I take it back, two of my uncles were and then they got married in their mid 40s but I'm the only female in my family at this age not married and always single). Back in those days, men were men....they knew their roles and were breadwinners but women also knew their roles and owned their own businesses like Khadija RA, and were also out fighting alongside the Prophet PBUH in the trenches but they were still able to be in their feminine and allow their men to take care of them. Today, the women have to be more masculine just to earn a living and the men cannot even figure out how to provide so we have more singles who are getting older than ever and this is a scary phenomenon that I'm actually dealing with. My mother got married at 13 and gave birth to me at 14. I got married at 30 to a beautiful lady at 21....everyone laughed at us for marrying late.They said me and my wife are late... I know schooling plays a big role in not marrying earlier. A major reason for early marriage is life expectancy..my dad family average is 50 whilst my mom family average is 70. So for our family everyone should get married before 25 for men and 16 for women.

I actually did research about marrying age in Europe afterwards and found out that legislations restricting age of marriage were proposed only in late medieval era (late 1500s), and for the most part the first menstruation dictated the start of womanhood, so that wasn't even typical of the middle-east

This is a common fallacious argument. Most will say, “an adult is only one who is 18+.” There’s a difference between the legal, and biological definitions. The inconsistent legal understanding of an adult In 1890’s Delaware was 7 years old. Perhaps again, the age of consent will be raised in the future, and the legal definition most like to follow, would classify people today to be pedophiles. The biological understanding of an adult is, one who has attained puberty.

People had very simple lives back then and weren't picky about their spouses and would simply marry whoever their elders would pick for them. That sort of culture isn't even that old, most of our grandparents in the third world countries probably didn't even see their spouse until after or few days before or on the day of marriage and no one had any issue with that.

Sura Qamar: Ayesha mentioned being a young girl (jariyah in Arabic) when Sura Qamar was revealed in 614 CE, eight years before Hijra. If Ayesha started living with the Prophet at age nine in 623 CE, she would have been a newborn (sibyah in Arabic) in 614 CE, not a jariyah. This suggests she was between 6-13 years old in 614 CE, implying she was 14-21 years old at the time of marriage. Guidance from the Qur'an: There are no verses specifying a marriage age in years. Yep, even in "islamic culture", it has been well-known that the prophet was born in the "year of elephant" (the naming of that year was based on such event). It doesnt say in what year of BC. Even the islamic calendar was just started after the migration of the prophet from mekkah to medina. And that was years after the prophet married aisya. After that migration, we have been "counting"/observing the time (making calendar, etc) properly. So yeah, it is possible when she said 6 years old or 9 years old. The "years" here could rather refer to how many big events she has been throught. Like, if we convert it to gregorian calendar, she could be older than that. But, i wouldnt reject the possibility of the prophet married her on that actual age either. I ve been watching people from ometv and omegle, when we thought that she (usually east european) was 18 or even 20 y.o. She was actually 13 or even 11 y.o. Meanwhile, many westerns when they saw asian, they might mistake 25 y.o guy as 18 y.o. So indeed the maturity pace of people can be difference.

To add to your point that people did not track their ages at that time, there is an opinion that Aisha (r.a) was around 18 years of age at the time she married the Prophet (s.a.w). Arabs started counting their age from the time they started puberty, which means when it was mentioned she was 9 years old, it meant 9 years from the age of puberty. Prophet Muhammad pbuh was married to Hazrat Khadijah R.A for 25 years and he didn't marry anyone else during her life. All other marriages happened in the last decade of prophet Muhammad PBUH's life and all had reasons and wisdom behind them.

My grandmother got married early at age 13 with their friend's son age 21 because they got the word that another family wanted to kidnap her when her mother would not allow the marriage. Her father had passed away. My grandmother was also not interested in this man. To prevent this, they had to marry her off before she was considered blemished where no one would want her the day after. The families agreed to save her and married the two off so it was an arranged marriage. Those were the days and happened quite often.

It's the Muhammad PBUH strategy to sustain his journey of prophecy. In the history of Muhammad by every author. Muhammad married Aisha when he was in stuck in Mecca because his uncle, who defend him from his tribe who want to stop him just passed away in that time. Then in ancient culture Arab sense that means Muhammad had no influence person who defend him, because his uncle in that time was a respected person in his tribe just passed away. And in their cultural sense, what makes someone has the tribe protection is bloodblood relationship or marriage. The only respected person at that time was only Abu Bakr, the rich person in that time from the respected tribe too and as a early muslim, he offer to Muhammad to marry his daughter, Aisha to give his tribe protection so the other people won't hurt him. So he could continue his journey at least.

Firstly, it is a generally known thing in Arabia men would get engage to women, making an agreement that the man would marry the girl once she became of age. This was common in Arabia.
