Why did Rome fall? Historians and scholars have tried answering that question for centuries.
In this episode of Wondrium Perspectives, four experts cover the events that led to the fall of the Western Roman Empire and highlight how the Eastern Roman Empire persevered for another 1,000 years after those fateful events.

Roman empire nevel fell. It only changed its name to Roman Catholic, which is more powerful, richer than ever, and more influential even in politics and governments. The leaders think of themselves as gods and with it comes the vast riches that no one could ever imagine.

Rich? Absolutely YES! Powerful? Not so much anymore, at least not in the increasingly secular West. Hell, in my country, they can barely keep priests in every church because both church attendance & interest in becoming a priest are at a historic low.

Rome was first advanced civilization that didn't allowed debts to be wiped out and start of new cycle as a clean slate.every society before Rome used to practice debt jubilee,so debtors don't become complete slaves to creditors and rich people,because governments of those societies understood that debt can never be repayed(interest on debt grow exponentially due to compund interest,while real economy have ups and downs, and one bad year of harwest or war make it impossible for debts to be repayed in the long term)so they used to relief the debtors by debt jubilee,so they can still be free and available for public service or wars when needed,and not owned by private creditors whose only interest is profit.well Rome stood on the side of creditors instead of debtors,which grew the gap between rich and poor more and more,and since most of your society are debtors,if all of surplus and productivity goes for repaying the debts instead of real productive economy and industry,only way to keep the rich richer is by inflation and printing the money(or coins which they used to devalue by puting copper in gold/silver coins)which then make people who own assets even more rich(and that last until it doesn't),and because your real economy and productivity is suffocated by debtor and rentier class which is not productive but live of interest, that creates civil unrest and polarization and weak army,which than can be defeated easily by barbarians from outside..this is a playbook that America is now following,by not allowing debts to be cleaned and going more and more into debt which make the banks and financial sector very rich by owning all important land,real estate and assets of the country and by bailing out the banks and big corporations..

Tl;dr but the economy of Rome isn’t anything like today’s economy
@lukaradojevic7195
@lukaradojevic7195 2 года назад
@@jtgd why not?even though technology and industry is different and world is more connected than ever,fundamental role of debtors and creditors is still here.same economic,political and social laws that worked then are predebt today,and if you ignore them you will repeat same mistakes as they did back in the day
@lukaradojevic7195
@lukaradojevic7195 2 года назад
@@jtgd debt still cant be payed back,because interest still obey rule of compaund interest and real economy still grows slower than interest on that debt over long term..and if you print the currency more then there is real resoruces and productive output of whole economy,you will devalue the currency and create inflation..

Very good observation, however Ancient Rome fell because the population that inhabited Roman lost its drive, motivation and incredible creativity which made them great in the first place, to understand this see ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eVYD4orSvOo.html

It didn't fall. It's borders changed, but Rome is still around to this day. All it did was change its pantheon of gods.

"A great civilization is not conquered from without until it has destroyed itself within. The essential causes of Romes decline lay in her people, her morals, her class struggle, her tailing trade, her bureaucratic despotism, her stifling taxes, her consuming wars." - Will Durant

2-4.35 doesn't make sense at all Because Rome is in Italy the Romans were mainly Italian so... The Scottish, germans, and Irish coming here makes no sense. However, rome did govern over half the European country for a period of time so it doesn't surprise me if they did recruit some from nearby countries to be roman soliders

The Roman Empire , didn't die . It changed it's name when moving from Rome . It's alive and well in the form of the USA . The similarities are to frequent with their mutual historys .

Yep. Now that the overbreeding of the 3rd world is forcing themselves into the US, we're gonna fall just like Rome did. It's already happening..

Most definitely. They even had indoor plumbing. We wouldn't have that level of technology again until the early 20th century.
