You can't have 3 Celtics and one of them not be Jaylen Brown. You just can't do that. I'm a Lakers fan so I'm sure my opinion doesn't count, but if I was a Celtics fan I would be concerned. In fact, the Celtics front office should feel a bit uneasy, and I think they maybe should have vetoed this b/c stuff like this can disrupt team chemistry. No fault of Derrick White, of course, but these guys have massive egos and their could be lingering resentment. How can you tell a guy who just competed on the world stage to get back to the pecking order? I would not want these problems if I was a fan of a defending champion.

Yes, this was a Nike driven decision, so Grant Hill can be as "P.C." all he wants with his response but for those who know, it's very clear that Nike didn't want Brown because of what he said with the whole Kyrie Irving situation that was going on involving Nike....that's why Brown said what he said and he tagged Nike in his post because Brown is very hip as to what's going on here. I love Dan and the crew, but assuming that Jaylen would be a problem isn't a fair assessment. Jaylen was willing to pick up guys full court and lead by example. He would play and be honored to play. What I saw in the first half was Team usa better take this shit seriously and figure out their chemistry because any team in Europe in this day and age can beat em in the 4th with chemistry and teamwork/set plays. The fact that Brown is not afraid to speak out against companies like Nike is the issue. All they care about is money. The NBA prefers players that are socially aware, they push for that. They also want them to go along with all the business partnerships and don't trust Brown on this. The darker skin color has nothing to do with anything. That's just your little racist attitude.

From a team perspective JT is a better distributor than JB and they both score about the same. The same thing goes for Derick White. Now JB is a better scorer than other players on team USA but 4 Celtics on the team is too much.

Dan, your take is weak. Jaylen Brown has played on NBA all-star teams. He has never been known to complain about playing time. He plays behind Jayson Tatum. That could not work if the guy was not a team-first player. Like Grant Hill, it sounds like Nike is influencing your judgment.

They didn’t choose him because he can’t go left. Wasn’t chosen simply because of his talent/skill or lack thereof. He was the highest paid player and finals MVP and still can’t go left. Brown would be a better fit than Booker and Haliburton for this team. He plays with Holiday, White and Tatum full time. Better under pressure than Hali (see the playoffs) and better team player than Booker.
