This is one most Iconic Beatles cover and now today some tourist visit Abbey Road just to have their picture taken crossing the road and also to frustrate the British motorist.
I traveled 14 hours from Chicago to Manchester uk, then toon a train to London, got on a bus to my hotel, dropped my bags off cause it was too early to check in and walked 1.5 miles from my hotel to Abbey Road and got finally got my picture taken on May 23, near 55 years after the original was shot. Worth every mile and every penny.
Glad it lived up to expectations! My primary school was just around the corner from an Apple office in west London. Sure that all four would have been there at some point - but none popped into see me, alas.
You totally missed the main implication... ( and I realise this is a happy accident).... But look at the picture John is all white (God)..Ringo is dressed as a preacher. Paul is barefoot like a corpse and George is dressed like a gravedigger.... they are burying the Beatles..... couple that with the fact they are all leaving Abbey Road (on the left)....and there is a VW Beetle there.....is this George Martin...(almost a Beatle)?
One interpretation - though even John would not have claimed to be the big guy. This is what is so fascinating - they turn up for a morning would have struggled to remember the details within a week. Yet fifty years later it still absorbs us.
