I was cracking up over the orange uniform and blue cheese helmets 😂 It is great creativity, but I honestly LOVE the red uniforms, they look awesome! Any other uniform variation, you can’t go wrong with red, white and blue 🇺🇸
That's why he brought in Von Miller, which made a huge impact until he went down. Miller made the guys around him better, and if it weren't for the fact that the Bills entire defense and backup defense were injured, I think that this season would have turned out very differently. Hell, the defense kept the offense in half the games they lost despite the injuries! I seriously hope that Bobby Babich, who has been successful as the line backers coach, along with Von Miller farther removed from the injury, can help tighten things up in that regard!
@@quinnjackson9252 agreed. I think he shine as DC. And I'd love to see D more aggressive on the line. Give credit where it's due. Sean had us AFC champ bound ... with duct tape and superglue.
@@minuano08 Looking back, I wish we had just forfeited the Jacksonville game. It was a complete disaster, injuring several players due to atrocious field conditions just because the NFL wants to get even richer by expanding the market overseas. I would love to see the NFL go international, but not at the expense of player health and safety. They were playing on concrete with a thin astroturf layer, which could have potentially ruined Matt Milano's career, alongside other players. I sincerely hope that teams boycott playing under those conditions in the future, as it cost this team its season. If literally one of the Bills starting linebackers or cornerbacks were available for that Kansas City game, we win hands down. Hell, we only lost due to missed field goals, despite our duct taped together defense. The example I like to point to of how good the Bills defense was is the Miami game in week four. Coming off of a 70 point game, the Dolphins threw their best at the Bills, who stopped them four times on fourth down conversions, and on a couple of two point tries. That was outstanding, and probably the second best all around game I have seen the Bills play, with the first being the wildcard round game against the Patriots a couple years back!
Totally unrelated but I was checking previous years "What should Bills have done in the draft" episodes with Bruce Nolan and wow, you absolutely killed the 2021 draft Joe. Teven Jenkins and Alim McNeil are studs, Cooper looks like a really solid defensive lineman and a steal for a 6th rd pick, and Melifonwu just had a career year. That's 3-4 above average starters in one class.
I’m a little worried about Shakir following the Gabe trajectory. Teams know he is good now and will plan for that. Drawing top CBs, schemes to take him away, I just hope he is ready for it.
@@TimEllis I like Shakir's technique a lot more than Gabe's. Gabe has him beat for size but catching the ball was never his strength. If he can get to the second level and get linebacker coverage he should eat all day
They're nothing alike as players. Gabe just got over hyped because of that playoff game. He never really got better or worse as a player. He's just extremely limited in the role they asked him to fill in buffalo's offense. Shakir can play inside or out, but will probably see the majority of his snaps in the slot, where he'll be covered by nickel CBs or LBs. He won't be the main guy commanding attention from defenses. Kincaid is going to be the focal point of the offense. Shakir won't likely even break 100 targets. He'll be completely fine.😊
Imho, Shakir's just too good now to really slow down enough to matter. Teams are not gonna dedicate risking double teams, or anything extra special, ...just to possibly get burned anyway. And then their fanbase would be absolutely ripping them apart for doubling a dude like him in the first place, etc, so no, whatever extra effort teams put in, they'd pay elsewhere. Shakir is gonna eat no matter what now. So is Samuel, Kincaid, Knox, Cook, Hollins hell, possibly even Claypool. Everyone, pretty much. Josh finally has a real legitimate blend of size/speed/talent/versatility/numbers for once, that call me optimistic, ...but this team is going to be a true menace this year. Oh yeah. And we have a run game. 😁
I think the bills will be shopping James Cooke. My friends think I'm crazy, but he is the most tradable player on the roster. Losing him would leave the smallest hole, easiest to replace and has a high trade value
You ARE crazy if you think there's any chance of this happening. What do you think they'd get in return to make it realistically worth it? He was 4th in yards last year and is still on his rookie deal. He costs nothing against the cap. Teams don't give premium picks for RBs. He was a 2nd rounder to begin with. It would be a big hole if they got rid of him.
I just don't get why you'd want to in the first place, ...I'd be leaning toward a massive extension, ...before he stacks up a huge season and flashes too much nationally, ...but that's just me. Great receiver, perfect fit RB for the type of offense Josh runs, and a much better tailback than most people give him credit for. I'm a huge James Cook fan though, ...so I may be a bit biased. That absolute stud of a man has future HOF candidate written all over him! 😄👍🦬🦬🦬
Pretty big concern imo. He’s been slicing it pretty consistently for a season and a half. It doesn’t look good coming off his foot. Even when he makes it, it looks sketchy,
Thank you for clarifying that EVERY TEAM, EVER, has guys fully committed to basically playing only special teams snaps, and that this isn’t a mcd only “problem” I’m so tired of fans blaming mcd/creating issues that aren’t there The witch hunt is getting old Steve tasker rings a bell!!l I would like to know the cap% commitment to these players though vs other teams , if there’s a criticism here, that might be where you start (although it could not be any different from other teams!!)
The problem is that we keep a good amount of guys for their special teams abilities yet our special teams have been consistently ranked towards the bottom third of the league during McD's tenure. So either we're keeping the wrong guys or our coaching staff isn't getting enough out of them.
@@adamant5550 I'm not making excuses for last seasons special teams, they were terrible. Just addressing your assertion that they are consistently in the bottom third. Variance happens
I agree with all the points but I think they're trying to also help his accuracy. The eye test last year he missed alot of throws that he should have made.
With man coverage, there should be no receiver that is designated to get the ball first as assigned or designed by the play… Man coverage should allow the quarterback at the line of scrimmage to be able to read the DB and the coverage scheme, and at that point, select a first choice receiver… the problem was Diggs .. plays were designed for digs in men coverage and he didn’t perform well enough….. in other words, in man coverage, any receiver could be designated as first read……. And that’s all on Allen… 100% on Allen…. my question is, does he have the brains for it?….. with poor first read stats in the past, shows, he does not necessarily have the brains for it….. It should be so much easier for the quarterback to throw to a receiver in man coverage than in zone.. The QB can see the matchup with each receiver. He knows the DB talents, he sees his positioning… he can readily see whether or not that route by his WR, will have the best opportunity for success. what makes the quarterback a GOAT, is the ability to read that very thing.. Montana Brady Mahomes, all have that great read defense ability….. along with accuracy. At this point in time ,I don’t see it in Allen, and is not up to par with them.. and actually , a great bit of separation. Being smart separates the Greats from the pack…
Didn't know he had one. A guy that physically gifted probably should be able to manage it well, but you really never know. I do know the dude scored a 10.00/10.00 Relative Athletic Score, highest tackle position score since they began recording in 1987 (Dawkins recorded a 9.87, I believe, for reference), I guess. Bills roster is stacked with super high RAS score guys. Not that it is a sure indicator of anything, but definitely tells you that we have quite the surprising number of freak-athlete types, on this roster. Won't see me complaining... 🤔🤗 😁
Is there a recent example of a safety who ran 4.7 who is a quality starter? Feels like Rapp needs aggressive effort plays and big hits to make up for his shortcomings.
Well he played a ton of snaps and started a bunch of games for the SB winning Rams a few years ago and he was drafted by them in the 2nd round with that 40 time. Probably pretty safe to assume his game speed>his timed speed at this point. He's at least an average SS. He's probably best as a dime LB and box guy, but he's not bad overall at all.
@@peterwilson4865I'd say below average in coverage, MAYBE average overall. But yes, he was a 2nd round pick who then wasn't re-signed and could only earn a one year deal for under $2M on the open market. I put "quality" starter for a reason. I don't know that borderline average fits under that label.
@@dustinstella6656 lots of solid safeties have been getting low end deals lately because the position is quickly going the way of RB. Market is majorly depressed. He got way better later in the season and played well down the stretch and in the playoffs. Then they gave him a decent deal to be a presumed starter. I gotta think that McDermott knows more than we do about what he can do in that system in his 2nd year. I'm not thrilled with him as the starter, but I think he's a high floor low ceiling kind of guy, which is fine. He just needs to stop the friendly fire shit when laying the lumber 😂
@@dustinstella6656 hopefully Bishop just forces the issue and earns the starting gig, but I think ultimately we see some more 3 safety dime stuff like last year with Cole being tasked with covering TEs as the 3rd LB.
@@peterwilson4865 I'm not even sure we disagree here, except maybe I think he's borderline average and you think he's solidly average? I think those "toughness" penalties and friendly fire are just part of his game, unfortunately. That style of play goes back to his Washington days. Tough, aggressive (overly), very hard hitter etc. Probably would have flourished in the 90s.
@@bills4uit is not a fallacy at all. Great QBs and offenses will tear apart heavy blitzing teams. The best ones are able to get pressure with the front 4.
Bills blitzed 23.5% of snaps which is right in the middle of the pack in terms of frequency. I would argue it's not blitz frequency but lack of consistency to get pressure with the 4 man rush
What?? No they didn't at all. They had 1 size WR in 2018 with Kelvin Benjamin and that's basically it. They drafted Zay Jones in 2017, but he's like 6'2 and didn't play very big to begin with. Who else was there? 2019 they brought in Beasley and Brown. 2020 they brought in Diggs, none of whom are over 6'. 0 reason to be skeptical of this initiative when there's literally 0 precedent for it.
Why? Because not having WRs who make deep contested catches when you have a qb with the arm that Allen has is plain fucking dumb. The fact it took the Bills this long to do it is why I didn’t(maybe still don’t) have a lot of confidence in the front office and HC. Better late than never tho. Ask Stafford how awesome it was to have Johnson 😂
As a South Florida fan who hates anything and everything Buffalo, I want to thank you guys for the gift of Kyle Okposo who won a Stanley cup in our beloved hometown... We offer the same for Josh Allen, send him our way and we will win a Lombardi for him here... I mean the only team in the Glorious AFC East to never win a Superbowl??... You people are an embarrassment!
😂 what's this garbage? Who gives AF about hockey first of all? Secondly, Allen has been beating the fish like a rented mule from day 1. He's your daddy. Dolphins haven't won a playoff game since the 90s. You undoubtedly weren't alive the last time they won anything of consequence. Buffalo is going to win the division again and you guys will likely be blowing up this current regime and roster after another mediocre ending. Allen>>>>>>>>>>Tua. Have fun paying him 60 million a year 😂.
