Speak for yourself. Don't get me wrong, I like Deni as a fit to replace Grant but we gave up a 2 way 6th man of the year with size at position who could shoot, create and facilitate for Deni. I can accept that trade at face value because Brogdon doesn't fit our timeline, but then we gave up 2 first AND 2 second round pics when Washington is already getting the better player! Brogdon isn't even on a bad contract!!! We got FLEECED!!!!!

As a Wizards fan I was immediately pissed and confused by the trade. Because I watch all the games I'm excited to see how Deni will do in Portland, however I Hate the concept of trading away good young talent for a pick that's 5 or more years from now. By the time we select Deni will most likely be in his prime. I do not like this trade but I have to hope that the front office knows what they're doing, and that Blazers utilize Deni properly. I'm excited with core we have there's nice foundation, but I feel like we could've made a better move.

maybe you gotta think of this in a business sense instead of a basketball sense. sounds to me like the wizards have buyer's remorse concerning deni's contract extension. deni is starting a 4-year, $55 million contract. brogdon is in the last year of his deal. the wizards have no starting point guard, and deni plays the same position as kuzma. brogdon starts the season for the wizards, and the wizards trade him at the deadline or buy him out if/when the wizards stink again this year.

Blazers fan here. At the very, and I mean very, least, Brogdon was a great veteran to have around our young players last season. He is a class act, and many blazers last year attributed wins to him in games where Brogdon didn't even play. As far as transitional veterans go, Brogdon is a good one. That being said, I am now a fan of the Wizards Front Office 🫡

Deni was traded at pretty much maximum value. Just had his breakout year on a team devoid of competition for touches on a great contract with a couple years of team control. Makes sense for the Blazers to get a good player, sense for the Wiz to finally move assets at peak value, good for both sides. Wiz are probably targeting 2028ish to be competitive again and that's outside Deni's contract. If I'm either team, I'm happy with how it went.

Didnt see this coming. As you mentioned, it should have been Kuz that was traded. Deni is a mid range game away from being a young 6-9 three level scoring, two way, able to power drive and get the line, make the next right play, able to run the offense, player. Thats an AS in the making. You don't freakn trade that player a 23 on a cheap declining contract. You build around them. This FO has been a complete train wreck. Deni was the main reason I tuned in to watch games last year. With Beal, KP, Gaff and now Deni gone. I don't feel any connection to this team anymore. And Ive been a fan since I was 10 years old. If you were going to move Deni, this wasn't the year to do it. This was the year to feature him even more. It was only post ASB they started giving him 30 plus per game. This FO has been a complete train wreck since day one.

The Wizards suck. I've been a fan of the Bullets since 1973. Washington was last competitive in 1979-1980. This team hasn't won 50 games but 1 time in 50 years. Watching Deni go reminds me of Rip Hamilton going. Ben Wallace and Rasheed Wallace were Wizards. Chris Webber was a Wizards player. Most recently Daniel Gafford was a Wizard. All i can say is God blessed Deni. Washington has new general management and coaching, but i think this approach won't work either.

Blazer's fans are asking why we gave up so much. 2 first round picks, 2 second round picks AND the former 6th man of the year for a promising young forward. Brogdon didn't fit our timeline but he was an impact player on both sides of the ball that could create a bit off the dribble, facilitate, and shoot from range. He also has solid size at his position. If you evaluate his potential for your team, do so off of what he did in Boston. As a Blazer he could cut himself shaving and spend 2 weeks on the inury report because they were trying to lose. Blazers fans were of the assumption a player with Brogdon's abilities would be traded to a contender in exchange for a draft pic or a young player like Avdija. Not a young player AND 4 draft pics! Your A and D are accurate but you assigned them backwards.

As a Blazers fan, I was super happy and surprised to see that we got Deni and I agree that he should fit right in on this Portland team (potentially becoming more than a role player, like you said). I saw some Blazers fans questioning if we gave up too many picks, but from my perspective Deni was 100% worth it. And then Malcom Brogdon was kinda like a first year mentor for Scoot Henderson, so maybe he’s gonna play that role in Washington for a year or two. Brogdon is a legitimately good guard who can step in when things get rough and give you 20-30 every night if used like that. Or he can play backup for the young guys and support them mentally and like encourage them and that type of thing. Malcom is a good dude, he just didn’t fit our timeline and we were happy to get him off for that reason.

as Deni's fan (i am from Israel), i think Wizards front office just do not plan on being completive this year. Deni is already contributing on both sides of the floor and he is competitive by his nature, so they just sell him for what they see as a good prices in terms of picks. They would have done it earlier if they got such an offer. Now that they got 2 1st round picks plus active tradable player, they "cash" the asset. Success? not in their plan for the next 1 or 2 years...

Deni was gonna be the next Otto porter for us. Probably will never average more than 18ppg, probably never make an all star team, will never make an all nba or a defensive team and has pretty much reached his ceiling (which is still a good one). The reasons to trade Deni are probably: To keep on losing to get a lottery picks in the next 2025 & 2026 drafts, which are supposed to be strong lineup picks. The second reason is to clear his game minutes time to other young players and the last reason is his market value right now, which is high due to his decreasing yearly contract and his breakout season last year. Overall in my opinion, this is a bad decision for the wiz and they will regret it in the future since I don't think that Deni alone could make the Wizards a winning team without taking anything out from Den as a excellent and versatile player.

I totally disagree and think this was an amazing trade for Washington. You just got 4 pics and a moveable asset (that BTW was 6 man of the year 2 years ago for a man that averages less than 15 points on the 2nd worst team in the league. You used the number 14th Pic and drafted your future point guard and then used the 24th Pic and drafted a younger cheaper version of Deni. K. George has the same game as Deni. He is a better shooter, and just like Deni, when George gets in the weight room and realizes his own strength in 2 years he will be Deni 2.0 for the Wizards You can't grade this trade straight up until you see it completely through

@Matthew-cc4xt
@Matthew-cc4xt 3 месяца назад
Seems like Blazers did fine because they got a solid young player. And the Wizards did fine because they got off a non-rookie contract and got younger and will be bad next year and likely pick high in a better draft while getting 2 firsts and 2 seconds and who knows what else they could get for Brogdon from a vet team. Maybe another late first? Better to tank hard than stay middle of the pack. If you keep Deni and Kuzma and win 30+ games next year you probably need much more young talent than you've got and you maybe pick 9th or something instead of 2nd or so. And you find more minutes for other young players to grow.
@philip1123
@philip1123 2 месяца назад
the wizzards wanted to tank bad so that's why they dropped the only deccent player they had. A great trade for the blazers, Deni is exactly what they need, a young, very unselfish player who loves to pass the ball, run the offence and actually deffends! they have a promising young core (although i am not a big Grant fan and i am not sure of Billup's coaching abilities yet) who may get to the playoffs in about 3-4 years! i am very happy for Portland
@randynerles236
@randynerles236 3 месяца назад
Washington could also want to get better by getting worse today. The next two drafts may be pretty appealing, and next year Washington could be in position for a top 5 pick. Deni may have netted a few more wins, pushed them into the 5-8 range? So, if Washington gives up Deni but drafts top 3 next year, it's a win developmentally. If they end up 5 or lower, then only random luck on that player will make this a smart move, and it could be a backfire.

As a Blazer fan, I believe the main reason the Wizards traded Deni is because the new management wants to get the highest pick possible in a very talented '25 draft, and Deni would have won too many games to make that happen. Blazers are in a similar situation, and needed to unload Brogdon and soon Grant to give young guys more minutes, and more importantly, insure loses to get a high pick in the '25 draft.

As a Deni stan I think you are underestimating how bad the Blazers situation is. Deni can shoot behind the ark sometimes, but he wont dribble and score on you from there. The blazers shooting behind the ark is really bad, making the paint packed where Deni excels. Add to that they have the lowest number of assists in the league and the biggest number of turnovers.... Deni do needs the ball in his hands a bit, in the Blazers that just wont happened. If he preserves his stats from last year, that a huge dub. I doubt it though.

Don't feel bad for a team in the same not winning boat as your team bruh. Dame Portland teams were no better than when Wall and Beal teams overall that was killing and taking us to the playoffs IJS
@FatherFirst
@FatherFirst 3 месяца назад
@jba414 Actually the Blazers went to the Western Conference Finals with Dame. Infact most of Dames career in Portland were on winning teams. Neil Olshey in the end though completely failed to capitalize on Dames prime. And he had lost confidence that specific moves would be made under Cronin that fit his timeline. But Cronin did him a solid by sending him to Mikwaukee to try and win a chip which obviously didn't happen, but Cronin could have gotten a lot more for him on a different deal with a different team. But anyway my point is that Portland has definitely fallen on hard times in the last 5 years and are in a complete rebuild. The Wizards however has been bad for what seems like forever. My comment was a statement to you and the rest of your fanbase deserving better than what you've gotten for many years. I've experience it with baseball concerning my Seattle Mariners never trying to build a legitimate contender. I'm sure many fans in DC want to have a winning organization whether it be football or basketball. You guys have won a world series in the recent past so that's worth something. I hope my Mariners eventually go there. But it would be great for the NBA is Washington rose up on the Eastern Conference like Milwaukee has. I just think you guys deserve better, my guy. I also feel like Rip City fans deserve better. But the move we made for Deni was a highway robbery. I get that you guys are tanking for next years draft. But you could have gotten a lot better haul for Deni, and everybody knows that. But we're extremely happy to have Deni. And he's definitely not a Dame or a Beal or even a Wall type. But he's a very good player for a position of need that'll help get us where we want to be.

Sad? What has Portland done since the 90's? Wasted Dame years putting mediocre talent around him. As a Wizards fan folks act like Deni was putting up huge numbers, no he was putting up pick 14 numbers and took him years to do that. Giving him all this credit put up consistent numbers on a trash team, comical. When Beal were there he wasn't doing anything. I love Deni in Washington but he's an above average player at best. We sad and Portland in the same boat 😂

Knicks fan: I don’t easily bandy-about trades of Julius Randle, because he is a really talented scorer, playmaker and rebounder. I have to admit that, once I realized Deni was on the market, I kinda wanted to entertain trading Julius. As Knicks fans, we don’t quite know yet what Julius’s ceiling is with Anonoby. I think it will be amazing. However, Deni brings all that playmaking, with high-level 3-point shooting, versatile scoring, excellent D, and still an open ceiling. Deni likes to play a team game, which would have meshed really well on this Knicks team. Randle is probably more talented, and I think our supporting roster will bring out the best in him. Anyway, such a trade would not have made sense for the BULLETS (sorry, child of the 80’s, and I can’t Disnyfy pro hoops, even if former owner Abe Pollin had his heart in the right place). I think Randle will be awesome this year. I also think Deni will be awesome in Portland. Who doesn’t want the next, better iteration of Toni Kukoc?

I think it should be put into perspective that the Kings drafted with the #13 selection, instead of trading it to the rumored teams. So it’s likely the Kings had the #13 pick with bad assets the front office didn’t think was worth the trade. And WSH wasn’t the only team thinking that. In short, why Deni over Kuzma. Possibly because you can trade players other teams want.
@israteeg752
@israteeg752 3 месяца назад
The Wizards management stated that they were hoping to obtain a second lottery pick; thus, it is not surprising that they dealt one of their players. It was also clear that management intended to reduce the number of forwards on the roster in order to accomplish this goal. So it was most likely that Kuz or Deni would be the ones to go. Regardless, I believe this deal demonstrates how the current NBA market values Deni over Kuz, who may not have the actual true demand as claimed, which is why Deni was chosen.

To me The Wizards got Bub Carrington for Deni Avdija. Now Malcolm Brogdon can turn into other picks as well. I think Bub has a better skill set than Deni. I think Bub has a bigger upside. The one thing Deni has that Bub doesn’t is experience. I wish Deni the best in Portland though.

Great video, but I thought this was a good trade for the Wiz. I'm a die-hard fan and I really liked Deni but if you are going to rebuild you have to acquire assets. The Wiz are building a trove of assets. That's a good thing. Deni is realy ball dominate and plays at a slower pace. We have young wings that need minutes.

Rumor has it, deni has family over in Portland. He is rumor to have asked GM winger to get traded to Portland solely to be closer to his family due to being homesick. It didn’t sound like deni wanted to go to any other team. If that’s true, good on GM for doing right by a guy that’s stuck by us through these times.

When my home team drafted Deni I was shocked because I knew nothing about him. Watching him grow and improve over these past 3 seasons he turned me into a believer. I know nothing about you. Do you live in DC etc. last night there were quite a few # of anti Israeli comments on local Wizards sites…and after grinding on this trade I’ll say this now: the current mayor of DC is a racist and an antisemite! I have no doubt she put pressure on Wizards management to move Deni out of time. Also I now have an opinion about the Wizard’s management: they are either very weak or on board for the democrats evil BS. The Deni trade was the polar opposite of the Elvin Hayes trade the Bullets made in the early 70’s, BAD. The two other 1st round picks Stinketh! Trade/Fire the new team except for the coaching staff….😢 PS I’ve unsubscribed from my main Wiz RU-vid channel, NOT because he joined the racist talk, he did push back. However his facial expressions showed me that he was socked…but he pulled back from strongly condemning it. He may correct that soon, because I’ve been watching him for about 2 years and like the #1 pick last year he has grown a lot!
