It struck me that what happened with Matthew (in the show) was a kind of resurrection. He died to his family in his sin, then Jesus saved him, and now he’s alive again.

It's crazy because He's not just giving the Sermon to the people there. He's technically saying it to us too. I mean, I really felt that.

One scene that stood out for me was when Joanna and Andrew were giving John their synopsis of Jesus' sermon. It brought out just how difficult it was for most at that time to grasp those concepts.

That was one of my favorite moments from Season 3 so far. I loved the scenes with Andrew and John, Andrew later apologizes to Mary, and Matthew being reconciled with his parents. It is true that the power of repentance and forgiveness literally changes everything. This was quite the comeback episode for many of the characters. It touched me and I pray that others will be moved too.

I really love this episode...hearing the sermon on the mount being presented in this way truly blows my mind and every time I watch it I feel God speaking through Johnathan right to my heart. Also, Matthew's parents going from mourning him in the beginning to welcoming him back at the end had me in a puddle. I think that's one of the first times a single word has impacted me so much. "Son."

Yup, the power of Love is so much forgiveness ❣️. The reuniting of Matthew with his parents, how Yeshua ministered to them all in this little family, bringing love back into perspective through forgiveness really moved my heart. I pray for this to happen in my own family. God bless you.

I've said since like the second time I saw him that I think they're building up Youssef to be Joseph of Arimathea. His interest in Jesus and his connection to Nicodemus is a huge foreshadowing, I think.

There were Pharisees who believed, yet had to keep quiet or loose their positions. But God used this fear to His glory for in Acts 15 there were Pharisee who were open believers at the first council. The scene between Youssef and Jairus helps the show to set up how Jairus would want to seek Jesus to heal his daughter when she is sick unto death. Jesus reputation is shared through Youssef with unforeseen benefits that give Jesus an opportunity to show His power as God and not just a good man,
@ianbain1269
@ianbain1269 Год назад
I also think that some of Jesus enemies in the show may well become followers. We see this in Gaius whom, in the show, may well be the centurion who seeks Jesus to cure his servant and whom Jesus commends for his faith being greater than those brought up in the Jewish traditions at the time. That faith will be based firmly on what he has already seen of Jesus and His manner. I even wonder if Atticus may also come through in the end for as someone with a deep distrust of human character he is the most unlikely person to respond. Yet his transformation would be nothing short of miraculous but not impossible for God. He could well sink a lot lower in brutality and it may take the scenes at the cross to really break him.

It was heartwarming when Matthew's father calls him "son" in the end, but also natural. It's reminiscent of the story of the Prodigal Son. The father loves his son. He is angry and hurt, but he loves Matthew. I think parents who aren't capable of such forgiveness really just have no bond with their child from the start - which happens, too, unfortunately. And it's often followed by neglect or violence and abuse (and reveals an immense brokenness in the parents who are unable to form that instinctual bond). I think in these cases it's alright to just let go. It's not necessary to try to establish a familiar relationship with someone who neglected you from the start. But Matthew's parents are regular people who love their child.

I was just rewatching this grafted of S3E1, and I caught your comment about all the people listening to Jesus sermon on the mount. You referred to them as day laborers. Actually they were all volunteers, fans of The Chosen, who paid their own way just to be part of the series, and made their own costumes. The Chosen couldn't afford to pay that many day laborers, so they put out a call for volunteers, never expecting so many thousands to volunteer. Miracles, miracles, miracles. Agree on the Judas analysis. He answers “are you ready to do hard things” with “I believe such and such and I want to be part of it.” He seems more like he wants to be part of something big, and to have some important part in it at that, and not like he is following because he sees the truth.

Grafted, you commented on the cancel culture of today but Roman society was the ultimate cancel culture. Even Emperors exiled their own mothers if they nagged too much. Our lost culture is like salt that's lost it's flavor. It's become post Christian and growing worse at an unbelievable pace. Families that once lived like Christians culturally even if they weren't born again openly, proudly live like pagans today. Can't wait til Jesus makes the disciple's evangelists. evangelists. I came to know Jesus personally almost 50yrs ago when 2 young women knocked on my dorm room door with the 4 Spiritual Laws. Still weep with joy that Jesus sent them and the Holy Spirit gave me the grace to hear and receive. Only thing to end the cancel culture is prayer, the Gospel pure and clean and the active love, forgiveness of Christ expressed through us.

Dallas & Chosen Team... What you are doing is so prophetic God tells us that when the number of believers, gentiles, is brought in then the end will come (Luke 21:24 and Romans 11:25). Your efforts may very well be playing a critical role in the fulfillment of this prophecy. Have you or your team looked at any of the Dea Sea Scrolls for more historical background? I have been reading several (10 books now) of these scrolls and have discovered scripture in a whole new light. I love scripture, but it always seemed just a little out of my grasp of full and complete understanding from a cultural and time perspective. When I started reading the historical Dead Sea Scrolls, scripture went from being black & white to full living color. These books do not take president over the inspired word of God, they do provide a view of historical times and the personalities of key people of scripture. Some suggestions for a starting point would be the Book of Jasher, the Testaments of the Patriarchs, the Book of Enoch (the first Enoch only, the other two are frauds). Some others you might want to consider are the Ancient Apocalypse of Ezra, Ancient Seder Olam, the Ancient Dead Sea Scroll Calendar. You will soon discover why Jesus always referred to the Jews leaders as the "Jews" or "those Jews". Discover some of the what the Essenes believed and why they were the "true" Jews. God Bless you ALL. Keep looking UP!

Pagan VS Gentiles: a perspective that came to my mind is that most of those in the crowd are Jews and Jews have specific disgust for Gentiles who are unclean, undeserving of any blessing. It may have made the words more relatable and weighty for Jews at that time. Also at this time Paul hasn't yet been sent for the Gentiles so that this statement isn't to isolate the Gentiles. Bringing the favor of God to them would be another level of shaking of Jewish perspective as it is described in the book of Acts (even Jesus' apostles were astonished) .

@jesusrevival-ministriessan3016
Jesus was teaching His own people, and making a distinction between His people and the Gentiles, and He wanted them to see themselves as God's chosen people. All He said was that the Gentile nations worried about food and clothing, because they didn't know the true God. He wanted His Jewish brethren to realize that they shouldn't be like those who didn't have the true God, but to live as God's chosen nation by TRUSTING IN HIM. It was like telling them that they needed to LIVE like God's chosen people, otherwise they were portraying to the rest of the world that they were no different from the rest of the nations.

Something they didn’t look at here, but when Jesus brings everyone in, John is on His right hand, and guess who is on His left… it was so subtle, that I’m not entirely sure I’m not reading too much into it. I think they are going to go with the portrayal of Judas where he “presumably” betrayed Jesus, to force Jesus to use His might against the Romans. In this interpretation of Judas he was tired of Jesus not getting to the point of freeing His people, and so he betrayed Him so He would start the war almost every Jew was waiting for. When Jesus actually died Judas realizes he just facilitated the killing of The King of Kings, and the torment of that idea leads him to suicide.

The Bible implies in multiple ways that Jesus would have known about Judas from the beginning. He "knew all people" and "knew what was in a man" (John 2:24-25).... But also, UNLESS God limited Jesus' knowledge at that time (which is proven in some instances elsewhere). God KNEW EXACTLY how this story would go (and how the WHOLE story ends, for EVERYONE), so he would know about Judas, but DID he reveal that to Jesus by this time? Great discussion either way, but I would lean toward Jesus knew. When the plan for redemption through Christs death, burial and resurrection was planned BEFORE the foundations of the earth.... And Jesus says "this has all happened so that the writings of the prophets would be fulfilled (Matthew 26:56).... Jesus had to know.

The history of Jesus and Judas, in the many levels that it have... isnt rightfuly portraied anywhere i can remember. We all betrayed Jesus. Peter did it too. I know i did. Maybe (im sure) you who reads this comment too. And i hope Dallas will show us something more deep than the usual

I want to see what others think. Am I totally wrong about this?? I feel , not anger at Judas, but pity. I feel he had a predestined role to play in his service to Yeshua's ministry. If he hadn't taken the steps he took to turn Yeshua over to the Roman's, God would have chosen someone else to accomplish His purpose. He MAY have gone about it wrong, I don't know how God had it planned. But Yeshua HAD to die in order to concur death. I feel bad for Judas that he couldn't forgive himself and see that God gave him a hard, but extremely difficult, and important job. Hence Yeshua asking if he was ready for hard tasks, then saying "We'll see."

I do actually agree with this. As hard as it is to relate to Judas when you read the amounts of the people who were betrayed by him, seeing the way Dallas and company have portrayed him brings me a lot more sympathy for him. He had the want to be a good person and a disciple, but I think the issues he has with money are gonna be his downfall...as well as his expectations of the Messiah not dying, I think that's why the role of betraying Him fell on Judas, because it could've just as really have fallen on Simon Peter or any of the others that deserted Him before He hung on the cross.

Judas is tough. If the only unforgivable sin is blaspheming the Holy Spirit than his betrayal would have had to have been forgivable, would it not? If only he could have waited three days and ignored the voice(s) in his head telling him his sin was not forgivable!

Jesus says, have I not chosen 12 of you and one of you is a devil? And the Bible tells us that Satan entered into Judas before he went out and betrayed Jesus. So The Chosen makes Judas look appealing now, but he was not someone to be pitied.

@@taralohman6492so it makes me wonder about Judas in the after life. Because Satan entered Judas, Satan also entered many other people and Jesus expelled them. It was meant to be for Judas to betray Jesus. So did Jesus forgive Judas? There is no way to know. Clearly Judas saw the enormity of his sin and couldn’t live with himself.

Hi Sam and Dr Tom. GREETINGS FOR 2023., I'm sitting here at 1:40 something AM watching your video, on Wednesday 18.01.2023 with a bowl of French Fries, Tomato Sauce and a large mug of Coffee with Whole Milk, 2 Peppermint Tea Bags, a Fennel Tea Bag and a Cerece Tea Bag. Why am I saying all of the above? To explain that even the most "Heavenly" of individual, still can lead a normal life.... I'm talking about myself, aka "The Holy Spirit". You are all doing a great job. Dr Tom, you identified your brother, PAUL, as someone to look up to.....Did you not see that SAM was hoping that person would be HIMSELF? As someone who lived the PAST LIFE as MARY MAGDALENE, wife of JESUS and mother ot his children, it has so far left me feeling f"rustrated" that Mary the character's role is do diminished. She (Mary Magdalene) was and still is a formidable force, for Jesus and her own ministry. She wasn't just "dabbling" in prostition and trying to read books. She was also a healer, teacher, counsellor and midwife. In short, she was very much Jesus' equal, who also had direct links with higher beings, powers and God. Jesus is still my husband, even though he operates from higher realms. He still calls me MARY. We still work together in hospital, hospices, care/nursing homes, etc when asked to through prayers, or when we feel the need to intervene. GOD's presence is always with, in, through and around us. Love and Blessings to you both and your team of helpers.

Sorry Stephany, Jesus has no equal, Mary is not his wife or mother of his children, and you will not find her as such in the Word of God. She was a mere human, a sinner saved by grace. The church is his bride and God is their father.
