The badges are silly cause they don't activate when you mute the stream or watch with only audio. You have to set them yourself, and just cause you have the badge there, doesn't mean you're muted or not.

I have the muted badge even tho I can still hear the stream. I think it's a "for show" thing since it's optional to have one of those badges next to your username, so I'm certain almost every chatter that has one of those badges is using them as a joke more than anything.
