Man, screw that guy who spoiled the Levy game. It would have been so funny for levy to guess like "both sides played pretty well, I'm gonna say 1700" and then get slapped with his own rating.
I get why that could get annoying real quick though. Yes, it's funny as a one off thing but people don't know when to stop a joke and soon it would become like 1/5 games lol
I wore noise canceling headphones at the theater before watching avengers endgame ,because people leaving the previous showing come out of the theater screaming all kinds of spoilers. Literally imagine buying popcorn and some guy walks out and spoils the fucking end
"sometimes when people promise content they don't deliver, it's like when your parents promised to love you" and you say the first guy was a murderer? bro
Moral of the story don't talk about things in a discord because people are dumb. Ah well, at least I played the game even if I'll never see Levy analyze it.
@@alexzandergerlach5771 Yes, if you're going with a plan like this tell noone. There's always that one asshole. Just quietly submit it and let it play out.
@@ravecrab it's not from poker, its been used widely before poker adopted it. It derivates from pinball machines in the 80s, which you could beat them to get the ball in some specific spots. However, if you hit the machines too much, they would simply stop working - and thats called "tilt". To summarize, you're right on the meaning: it means someone who got so much beating that they just "stopped working". Right now, we use it for circunstances where we're annoyied, upset, not in the mood for playing anymore. But the origin comes from a time even before poker players used it!
@@christossavvides5153 not necessarily, because the knight can go to d4 and although it looks free, you can't take it because of Qh5+. If black blocks with the pawn then fxg6 and you can't stop g7 discovered check, winning the rook and making another queen. If you go Ke7, then Qf7+ (defended by the bishop) and white is just winning because of how exposed the king is.
Man I can’t even remember my own moves I just go left king/queen pawn up 2 then the one two to the right up two then my right knight up to the left every time
2000 player here: f5 against Italian is super tricky, every move except d4 from white is better for black, but d4 is winning for white (+2.5) , allowing ng5 and qh5, and with the bc4, f5 is way too weakening, but d4 is the only way to punish it
Hi Gotham/Levy: I just want to say thank you for all your hard work on making this videos! You are one of my favourite streamers. Your videos help me improve my chess skill by a lot! I really appreciate you. Thanks again! Remember to stay happy, stay healthy and stay safe!
im a bit concerned honestly, you produce so much content, there's no way you won't get burnt out in the future. please make sure to take some breaks at least every year or smthng we want ur content but we want you to be sane more
The money he makes from these videos justifies it. If he wasn’t making content that brought in a lot of money, he’d be working a 9-5 job. He streams anyways, this is just him uploading a dedicated stream portion to RU-vid.
I don’t think he has problems with motivation either. He loves chess, and he has been doing youtube videos for 11 months. While having constantly growth.
This series is a gold-mine. Watching sub-1000s play chess is so freaking entertaining. 😂 It's like a bunch of drunk lunatics who just don't give AF and just do whatever they want. Who cares about winning??? F**k the rules. JUST MOVE.
9:29 that got me laughing so hard 9:45 that got me too 10:57 AAAAA THAT SOUND 12:15 the hang queen and sound made me laugh hard again 12:39 GOTHAM IS SINGING 12:49 bruh? 18:42 finally gotham is singing again
That knight blunder in game one is actually a proper respond to Rousseau gambit if black push his e pawn and try to kick the knight out before playing d5. The point is to give a check with the queen and if pawn block you win a rook. If the king move instead you have something like mate in 11.
I would really love to see him analyze a Special Game I played, a huge Pawn Blunder in the opening (Instant-2,5) and a Mate in 5 with Queen Sac at the end He would be so confused xD
It would be so nice to have 1 or 2 1700-2300 games mixed in, all 500-1500 range games are basically the same, random moves until one guy blunders in one move
Hats off to gotham chess for all the recent recaps and also congratulates on reaching 900k subscribers. It is well deserved because these videos are always looked forward to by me and probably many other people trying to understand a little bit more about the mysterious game of chess. From the sheer emotion of the last candidates recap where we got an understanding of the pressure the players must have been under and their brilliance of making complex positions look easy to the excitement of Gotham's peak flow captivating commentary that makes you imagine the players are actually fighting that keeps you on the edge of your seat, we get entertained and educated. The attention to detail of explaining the concepts behind the moves, the theory and tactics is outstanding. Well apreciated. Thanks for uploading so much great stuff. Good day to everyone. Have fun.
Actually, at 23:17, black thought that his bishop was gonna get trapped if he went back, so he decided to take as he would at least get 2 pawns for the bishop😂
1:08 Rousseau gambit, theory says white is better if he accepts it, but it's much more recommended to decline it playing d6 accelerating the development of the bishop, while f4 doesn't really do something, except for weakening the king
With that second game I was thinking this has to be blitz or bullet between a pair of like 800's who play usually do rapid, and then Levy gets dunked on by his mod doing . . . something
•0:49 gotham says f5 in italian is poopy mode and you cant play that •2 years later-Gotham says the "rousseau gambit"(f5 in the italian) is an amazing weapon against the italian and makes a whole video about it
In that 3rd game white really wanted to play the Trompowsky but mouse-slipped e4 instead of d4 and decided to roll with it and play the Trompowsky with the light-square bishop
"Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome back to your favorite series-" Yes, this is my favorite chess series. Naroditsky SpeedRuns #2. "-across all platforms, Guess the Elo!" Hey hey now, have you heard about my boy Swampletics?
I am a very strange player, I have a rating of 850, sometimes I will play with like 10% accuracy, and like two moves ago I played a 1200, I used bongcloud because why not, and I won, it was a legitimate win too, I played with 94% accuracy.
Hey levy just wanted to let you know that your “d4 dynamite” videos really inspired me to play the catalan and that’s my favorite opening for white. It helped me climb from 800 to 1000 in about a months time.
Levy I would like to thank you for helping me improve in chess because of you I finally hit 1700 a year after starting to play chess and I've been playing the Vienna since 1200 and wanted to show my thanks, I hope you see this - a fan of the online era of chess.
Dlackmar diemer gambit is one of my favorites! I’ve gotten a 99.7% accuracy game with it and have beaten a 2100 rated player on lichess with it as well
