This is exactly what I needed to hear today! Thank you so much Brigette for your expertise and encouragement. I will absolutely use your tips during my job search. :)
This is resourceful. Today's job-seekers need not be less informed or fail to leave an impression at the interview if the job position doesn't work out.
Thank you so much for uploading this video Ms.Hyacinth. Your videos are very informative. I'm so happy you decided to post a new video. Janiah from St.Lucia.
I was fired from my last job due to occurrence points but I did not know I was occurring the points and was not told by my manager or anything and it takes 6 months for each point to drop off so of course I didn’t have enough time to get them off so I never knew how to answer the question without getting personal so thank you so much for this! I wish I would have came across you earlier since my interview is tomorrow but I will still do my best I’m already claiming it! God Bless ♥️
Thanks for sharing. Great insights. Just a little curiosity. What if the reason for leaving is based on 'Salary & Growth?.' What could be the best answer?🤔
I never tell the truth in great detail. I always just let them know that I am seeking a different opportunity or position with a company that has advancement opportunities. I also don't talk about the companies I had a bad experience with, I just don't refer anyone to them.
Thank you for making these videos. They are very helpful! Would it be okay to say that I left because I wanted a change of routine and to expand my knowledge and experience in other areas? I actually left my job because I didn't like the schedules and there were no opporunities to grow in the area I was working.
They could take 4-5 months without matching up salaries and taking workers as rubbish as if we do complain on such issues they be like you will be given a resignation letter. And after like 1 month j submitted my resignation letter
Some good tips but a worthy new employer will be understanding of complaints about the candidate's prior/current employer. They should be able to sense if the candidate is reasonable and intelligent and has stuck with some of the jobs in their career for many years. All these prepared interview answers are just proof that interviews are often about who prepares the best BS answers. Employers often expect perfection even though they know that nobody's perfect.
They didn't pay me enough to deal with that amount of foolishness, disrespect and headache from them and their clients... but that's not what I say when asked. 😆😆
I love your video, those answers are so genuine and look professional. Will watch all your videos Brigette, i'm your fan now 🥰 Btw i just hit Subscribed 😊
Great advice! Thanks for the insight! You absolutely make some great points, but I feel like I am a point in my life and career where straightforward honesty and remaining authentic is of utmost importance. Explaining to a prospective employer that you didn’t have a work/life balance and frankly, you know your value and know your work ethic was deserving of better opportunity ; there’s no shame in that game. There’s such an emphasis on selling your “brand”, a facade, so to speak, and that approach takes away from just selling yourself. Chances are your pretty awesome and the employer that is meant to will see your potential value.
I don't think a negative report of a previous workplace should make you think that a potential candidate would speak negatively about yours - unless you know you're not a good employer. Badmouthing a former employer might show that a candidate is themselves negative and might point to maturity issues. Nobody is all good or all bad and a mature person should demonstrate their understanding of this nuance. Also you might appear to have a bad attitude if all you say is negative, or like you're the one who brings negativity to an environment. These to me are better ways of looking at someone who answers this question negatively than to get defensive. The guilty run when no one pursues.
I love asking this question in interviews BECAUSE there are so many toxic workplaces/bosses in the current market, especially in my industry. It's hard, time consuming, and expensive to hire and onboard so I truly want to know what triggered your desire to leave a company so we can avoid those situations and get/keep good employees happy! Happy folks = Happy customers = Happy Bank Accounts. :)
Thanks ..I found something different. Job hoppers got promotions easily, even if they r less educated. Performance related issues as mentioned aren't really related to performance nowadays. People essentially digging too much personal matters at workplace as well as interviews. Any suggestions how to answer on these..
Wow, I just have to say, why is the onus on the hiree to make an old job seems wonderful, perfect, but the poor company could not manage it's finances, or change fast enough? There are horrible companies out there, and we all know it. Why can they all talk crap about us, but we cannot talk crap about them?
This was a great video .... I was wondering if I could ask a specific question about a unique situation where I left an institution and was wondering how to frame that on why I left that position?
"Yuh ah BASS!!!!!!!!!!" Hello I always state it as it. I left one company because - leaders are liars, they sent email when actions, the said email is change - Microsoft; if your are not a good administrator, snipped and respond to the mail with your understanding; you'll have it hellish!!!They did not need people who are knowledgeable of the job; they waste time in meetings which they cannot sole issues and expected you to clean up their friends errors. All these person all work at the BIG 4 Audit firms!!!
Hi Brigette, I left my job due to a toxic work environment, but I didn't have anything line up. Now that I am interviewing for a new job I am having problems answering that question. I tried saying it wasn't a good fit, but they always want you to follow it with why, and I don't know how to respond without being negative, and finally I was told never to talk about the cutture, because they may think you are the problem, and not them. Can you please help on a suitable response?
I have a question I have a former employer who told me they will say negative things about me to other employers who ask for me to sign a release for complete background. My solution has been to not even acknowledge them as a job. But if I were to acknowledge them, how would deal with that situation?
dear maam iam 30 and i have no job i do not idea what can i do if u have job for me please hire me please give oppertunity to work with ur organization
Thank so much God bless you 🙏,l had an interview and l did all research, they asked me the question l had done the research on it,but believe me everything disappeared and l just said other things which made me regret 😢.Am happy l found you here and learned more.

What would be a good answer to the job hooper question?? I had it recently and said i leaved a company because my goal was to get a better position wich was almost impossible there amd te next job I quit it was because I got a random call offering the position I wanted. Is that good looking to you? 😅 Actually that's the truth.
I think, adding some examples of action or activities on how we accomplished the tasks to support our "self branding" when the interview took place will be more convincing the interviewers.
You make your own videos and talk about how you can grow with the new company. When Brigette make her videos we all listen to the information professionally presented.Don't troll Brigette be respectful and say Thank You or just troll on Princess Barbie.
