There's also a 3rd, kinda implied weakness to Kyoukasuigetsu: the illusion can only be as accurate as Aizen's knowledge allows it. Kubo confirmed in Klub Outside 482 that the reason Unohana felt there was something wrong with Aizen's corpse was due to the huge amount of bodies she's seen in her life. It'd not be that far fetched to assume someone as smart as Urahara would be able to tell what's part of the hypnosis by noticing the slight inconsistancies.
@@andrelima4125 Urahara knows of that weakness and had the prep time, it's likely he found a way to consistantly exploit that weakness. He kept it to himself either because it'd be too hard for other to use it (like the portable gigai), or to keep it up his sleeve to surprise Aizen. The thing is, not only Aizen was strong enough to beat Urahara without Kyoukasuigetsu, he also likely fought with the expectation that Urahara found a way to counter it. After all Aizen recognise Urahara as the only man smarter than him.
@@xegin1572Outside of having to see the shikai once to be under its influence Unahara wouldn’t be aware of the 1st weakness because his last interaction with Aizen was 100 years prior to their reunion and even then Aizen did not use the effect on him and it was very brief that he would not have been able to figure out that weakness. Beside, Aizen didn’t use it during their last battle because he wanted to test out how powerful the orb made him, plus there was the fact that he even stated that Aizen had let his guard down because of how strong he became.
Aizen also pointed out that it was easy to fool Shinji because Shinji didn't study hlm or try to learn any of his behaviours so Shinji never figured out he was under total hypnosis
Throughout the Deicide arc, Aizen was turning from a powerful trickster that, while being strong, relied mostly on his intelect to win battles. But as he began transforming, you see him, not exactly turning dumb, but becoming cocky as he's more and more infatuated with the Hogyoku's power. I believe he even says so to Urahara. "I'm so powerful now that I don't even have to raise my guard against you". He wanted to fight with sheer brute force.
I mean...if you had god mode too, wouldn't you also want to laugh in the face of your enemies throwing their attacks at you to no avail? Bet that feels liberating.
@@stinkybean5 nope. There’s plenty of Billionaires richer than Elon Musk who hide all their money in shell companies and trust funds. Not everyonr has the cringe instinct to show off power. Aizen’s god complex defeated him.
I mean, why would Aizen use it? Once he fused with the hogyoku he stopped using abilities until he fought Ichigo. Aizen straight up stopped fighting, let down his guard, and just walked through everybody because they posed no threat to him. He was literally just standing there talking sh*t and waving his sword every now and then
@@krampus6759 Keikaku means plan in Japanese, showed up in a fansub in Death Note then Team Four Star referenced it in Dragon Ball Z Abridged with Goku saying just according to cake instead of keikaku
Urahara's zanpakuto was also capable of adapting and overcoming power used against it. Like Yammy's cero, once analyzed Benihime was able to match it's energy signature and cancel it out. Now imagine him being able to analyze Kyoka Suigetsu's ability? Not only could he stop himself from falling under the influence, but he very well could have prevented everyone from falling under it's power. Taking away the one advantage Aizen had over an entire society of soldiers aiming their blades at him. Aizen needed the Hogyoku to evolve him instead of trying to beat Kisuke with his ability
Not adapting exactly. A little bit more different. Benihime's main power is restructuring and it restructured it's attacks to detonate and cancel out Yammy's Bala
That's not necessarily true. We know Aizen had placed at least a strong majority of the Gotei under Kyoka Suigetsu even before he became a captain, it's how he was able to get away with his actions during the Turn Back the Pendulum arc, because he had several prominent members of the Gotei, including Shunsui, under Kyoka Suigetsu already. It is also shown that all of the Visords were under Kyoka Suigetsu even from 100 years ago, and it is stated several times that only Ichigo is both unaffected by Kyoka Suigetsu and strong enough to potentially beat Aizen. So, seeing as how these statements all get made when Ichigo would be much weaker than Urahara, we can assume either Urahara is also under Kyoka Suigetsu, or these statements were being made under false perceptions of Ichigo and Aizen's power levels. Now as for Aizen's actual reasons for not using Kyoka Suigetsu it's obvious, he was farming XP. It's the same reason he didn't avoid Gin's sneak attack and let his guard down in all his fights, because in order for him to evolve at this point in the series he needed to handicap himself and allow other people a chance of actually doing some damage to him and forcing his evolution.
@@ShrimpMaster0982Ichigo isn’t weaker than Urahara , at least not that much if we take bankai out of the way (cuz all the captains level shinigami who didn’t used bankai during Karakura had broken bankai that don’t even count and can’t be used) and Ichigo isn’t immune to kyoka suigetsu. All the characters in the show repeatedly explained that : Ichigo is the ONLY soul to have never SEEN the shikai release, hence he is not under it. Doesn’t mean he can’t be
@@togucvinw7 in the past yes, but now, after training in Soul King's Palace it is possibble that Ichigo would be immune to Kyoka Suigetsu, considering his current abnormal reiatsu and broken powers
@@justineczarnobyl9987yhwach was still under kyoka suigetsu even after absorbing some of the soul kings power. Ichigo is probably the 3rd or 4th strongest character in the show
Fr ultimate moment in anime for me too in fake karakura town when Urahara squad pulled up They should make a spin-off series for Urahara I’d eat that shit up
Aizen never showed Ichigo the release of his Shikai because he deemed it unnecessary. At that time Aizen was the superior one. Yes, he was curious about Ichigo and Urahara. Ichigo’s strength was always tied to his emotional state. This is why Unohana wanted him fully restored as a sort of trump card. At the end of the series it was a core factor to their victory over Yhwach.
Huh i thought the reason was to use kyouka suigestu the person need to see aizen blade , ichigo never saw aizen blade and unohana warned ichigo to not look when fighting aizen.
@@justwind6930 idk man maybe if you actually watch bleach and not clorox you will realized that at the end of karakura arc , his blade merged with him before getting sealed.
Could be true, cause if that the case uruhara might ruining azien whole plan since he can then find a counter for other who under it. Which make his whole plan get mess up
In my opinion Aizen always has it released, especially if it's shape doesn't change in shikai and we assume he has a bankai which means no release command is necessary. Hence everyone is always susceptible to it because it can always be activated, it's just whether or not he wants to apply it or not. I'm saying his shikai is basically invisible, looking for a ceremonial release is what got them all cut down in fake karakura by it.
He stopped using KS because of the power high he got from the Hogyoku. Kisuke preferred a scenario where he wouldn’t have to deal with KS so he only showed up after the hogyoku started taking effect. He planned so far ahead that he purposely gave Aizen the hogyoku after Ichigo’s powers were awakened as he was certain that Ichigo would be ready to clobber evolved Aizen by the time the hogyoku is fully released
I wonder if seeing the release the second time undoes the effect. Like a hypnotist snapping his fingers a second time to wake someone up. That could be a reason why he wasn't spamming it even if there was an opportunity for it
Aizen said, I think to Soi Fon, that all abilities are reiatsu so with enough of it you can negate others' abilities. Should work against him just not practical since that'd mean having reiatsu much higher than Aizen's.
@@KingdomOfDimensions yes most abilities are reiatsu based but then again yhwach had more reiatsu and was still affected and didnt even sense it with his almighty
Ichigo was also warned about Aizens shikai while was grooming him to be a great challenge the entire time and when they fought seriously he discarded his zanpakuto to evolve and he touched his blade directly when they fought.
I thought he didn't use his sword release on Ichigo because it would undo the hypnosis on everyone else when he did his demonstration. I figured it only worked on people who witnessed his sword release, and in order to get all the captains and lieutenants in one swing. And in order to get Ichigo (who was obviously not present), he would have to use his sword release again, which would release anyone not present for the release from the hypnosis.
@TauntersTongue Has Kubo ever been asked if her restructuring can only give back what was lost? Or can it give what is needed? In his fight he was able to restore his eyes, and change the molecular structure of his hand. It wasn't magic, from his character to her abilities; you always see the techniques applied through a scientific aspect. If you can change your molecular structure of your hand. You could change your nerves as well. It's probably not if he could do it. But if he would be able to? Once under the control, what kind of contingency could he have to still be able to awareness when all his senses were gone? Would he use his bankai first to exact this contingency? Could he program himself with his bankai to be somehow attracted to Aizen's sword? Once the blade touched him, his awareness would return? Is Aizen's ability biggest weakness is that is less effective against someone like Urahara, 1v1? You would have to ensure that you deatomized him in one hit with his bankai released. It's full extent of hax haven't been expressed to my knowledge.
knowing Kisuke, he would have a special unnoticed invisible Reishi sheath for his sword to touch Aizen's blade, then create an immunity for himself, touching his own Zanpaktou, clashing with Aizen's blade.
The only reason Aizen didn't use it was cuz he wanted to crush all of them via sheer force. The same reason he allowed himself to be hit by a #90 level hadou.
This is just my hypothesis. I genuinely believe that because of their personalities, urahara, yourichi and isshin most likely never went any demonstrations of aizen and or fought alongside him in any battle, thus they most likely never saw his release and aren't affected by kyokya suigetsu either, and most likely two of the vizords hiori and hachi also, But they were all banished and older ppl like head captain and unohana wouldn't know for sure if they ever saw his release or not and even if they did, they wouldn't ever seek help from anyone thats been banished no matter how dire the situation. So as far as anyone in soul society was concerned Ichigo was their only hope, and its a fact that urahara, isshin and yourichi only intervene in situations when they deem it absolutely necessary, they were 100% ready to not meddle in the fight with aizen alongside soul society, and watch everyone all die by the head captains final last dich effort to kill aizen.
Im pretty sure aizen has grown so strong he just didnt feel like trying to fight anymore. You can see that he dosent even try to dodge or swing his sword properly
@@wildman7220 to evolve further …. The more you do to Aizen the more he evolves from it with hogyoku…. If Aizen just outright beat them , he would’ve never gotten stronger
The illusion has to be realistic too. Urahara was aware of his abilities and Aizen probably knew to save his illusions for when they’d be most useful rather than spamming it. We see that Unohana was able to tell that Aizen’s corpse was fake back in Soul Society so its not like you’re guaranteed to believe the illusion just because you see it.
Urahara was already under KS so aizen could have used it on him whenever he wanted, he didn’t cuz he did in fact want to test himself against urahara the only being smarter than himself
Even though he was stronger (and my favourite bad guy) when Aizen was up against Kisuke, Yoruichi and Isshin, he still knew that they were a MAJOR threat. When people like that, with those levels of intelligence, and that much synergy get together in a group, anyone who has any level of perception will consider them so.
The only reason was he got drunk on hogyoku power so much that the mere fact that the more damage he got meant more power up, clouded his judgement beyond repair.
There’s a simpler reason that was explained by Aizen himself : as soon as he started merging/pokemon like evolving with the Hogyoku he didn’t need to use a zanpakuto anymore(that’s why he didn’t used it against Ichigo, not because he wanted to test his strength, otherwise he wouldn’t have used kidou as well). Also I’m pretty sure Kisuke can shift into a gigai real quick or use fake eyes or something to avoid seing the shikai release so it’s no use (Aizen was a member of Kisuke’s division back then after all if I’m not mistaking)
If we think again, there actually a lot of character in Bleach that still never seen Kyoka Suigetsu work though most of them don't have capability to even fight Aizen.
aizen once said to urahara:"you truly are the man i believed you to be" back then aizen had a worthy zanpakuto...after hogyioku aizen had only an overpowered pride and ego....
He...he showed to all the captains at the time including uruhara....and he definitely used it on him in the 4 way fight, we just dont see how, he was constantly using it. Thays the way i always saw it
Now that i think about it, urahara is the more terrifying one... it's crazy how un-killable he seems. He was already was better than the Captain class Shinigami, cuz u never know what's cooking in his head even if you aren't under any hyponosis.
The best theory I've seen is, Aizen actually used his Bankai against Yhwach. His Bankai makes people see not what he wants them to see, but what they themselves wants to see. Aizen says "Fascinating. So you think it's Kurosaki you're attacking.", which could imply he had no idea what Yhwach was seeing. Kyoka Suigetsu has a 4th weakness: it can't make you see something Aizen himself isn't aware of, think of him trying to make you see your favorite book, he can maybe guess the cover but everything else would be a mystery to him and not exist in the illusion, you'll notice Aizen never completely alters people's reality, he just changes details, this is to avoid falling into this weakness of KS. Further, this weakness was already a problem to Aizen, way back in the SS Arc Unohana mentions she could tell something was up with Aizens corpse, this isn't because Unohana noticed a flaw in the actual illusion but instead due to Aizens lesser knowledge on the Human (or rather Shinigami) body, at least not enough to create a perfect corpse for Unohana to not notice (confirmed by Kubo in Klub Outside 482). Usually Aizen simply works around this weakness in KS by limiting what he changes but this no longer works against someone like Yhwach, he knows every single possible future, as soon as he notices that the current events aren't matching up with any future he knows KS is being used on him and he simply uses the Almighty to get around this. An opponent being able to abuse this tiny weakness in KS is exactly what his Bankai is would cover. His Shikai makes people belive lies. His Bankai lies by telling the truth the oponent wants to hear. It would not only fit extremely well thematically with his Bankai being yet another contingency plan, it would also explain why he didn't use it up until the fight against Yhwach, it's just not that useful most of the time, kinda like Shinji's.
"Better question is why he never used Bankai" Why would he use it? Bankai is a trump card. Aside from Ichigo, when did Aizen ever show signs of needing it? Also, think of Aizen's true nature: crushing loneliness to the point of wanting to lose his powers. Would his Bankai actually be more powerful than his Shikai?
Also, he didn’t use it on Ichigo because he had to give up his Bankai to Achieve hollowification. & with the Urahara arc, he probably had it achieved for over 100 years.
"Why you didn't use kyoka suigetsu against Urahara?" Aizen: "Dude, he is technically the f*king Batman of our universe! He already had contingency plan for it BEFORE Kubo-chan writes The Death and The Strawberry!" 🙄
If Aizen wasn't smart ... Aizen: Kyoka Suigetsu ! Urahara: **pulls out uno reverse card** Aizen: **got stuck in Kyoka Suigetsu which now under Urahara's control**
Urahara never saw the sword release though. He wasn't on the captain ceremony when Aizen presented it to all lieutenants and captain's, because he was just a 3rd seat or something. And he is a nerd always doing overtime, closed in his rooom, so there is a good chance he never saw it on other occasions either.
no wait Aizen mostly discarded his zanpakuto when he transcended with the hogyoku, he was rejecting his shinigami side to be a transcendent being. Also aizen didnt use KS on Ichigo because he created Ichigo to be someone the same as him which means someone who would maybe understand him and his ambitions. And you do not brainwash people like that
@@Thecor13 sure he didnt but he then adapted to the situation and saw potential in masaki and isshin's child to be a complete being (a being that transcends shinigami and hollows), a soul king candidate and on par with him. He then orchestrated most ichigo's fights in order for him to gradually power up (imagine if ichigo met idk yama or shunsui or hitsugaya) until they eventually fought. That was all for the sole purpose of creating a being that was equal to him, because as ichigo himself puts it "I felt loneliness in his sword, not arrogance or hatred". Aizen wanted to be understood but there was noone to understand him, That's why he never tells ppl what his plans for the world after he becomes SK are and that's why he never uses KS on Ichigo. Of course he "biologically" created White. But he nurtured Ichigo's powers
@@Thecor13 the point of my comment is to emphasize that aizen didn't wanna "test his new powers" on Ichigo or whatever and that is misinterpretation of the character and explain with some manga basis why he would never put Ichigo under KS.
@andrelima4125 considering the theme of ichigo since episode 1 breaking out of a kido spell only as a human at the moment to him cutting yhwach despite having Almighty I think this has to do with ichigo and the possible fate manipulation ability he supposedly has. I don't think KS can out beat fate manipulation.
It is possible Kyouka Suigetsu being so broken actually has numerous drawback. Anything that basically limits its usage greatly. Surely its smart wielder wouldn't reveal them out loud
I'm pretty sure that the 2nd weakness you mentioned isn't true as Yamamoto and Yhwach could have broken the illusions, but Yhwach did fall victim to Aizens illusion.
The way Aizen's sword works is the classic 'you have to believe in hypnosis to get it to work' mixed with Naruto genjutsu. That's why Unohana can sniff out that something is off all the way back in the Soul Society arc, made even more apparent knowing all the events of the story and who she really is, because she would naturally be primed to sniff out a facade, even if she's still seeing the charade. It's never explicitly stated if Kisuke has seen Aizen's release, but it doesn't matter. Urahara isn't someone who's going to fall for hypnotic suggestion anyways by default, and even if the trick worked, he's still going to be prepared no matter what; that's the whole Squad 12 gimmick. Plus, after Aizen ices his own Espada forces, it's pretty apparent he's beyond arrogant that he can't be touched, so he doesn't even use his sword anyways, at least like a typical Soul Reaper would. Another big factor is the world of Bleach is really, really stupid. Not in terms of things not making sense, but the average anyone is really dumb. Most soul reapers are total mooks. Most hollows are mooks. Keigo is probably the most intelligent side-character in the entire series, and he's dumber than a bag of wet concrete. Therefore, you've got an in-universe set of various populations that could easily fall for something that requires realizing 'oh, nah, that's fake' and holding to it mentally. Aizen and Kisuke are big fish in small ponds; Mayuri is the real Einstein of the Bleach universe, hence why nobody established messes with him after the tone set from the Uryu fight.
Aizen and Kisuke are smarter than Mayuri. This is proven on screen multiple times when Mayuri makes a breakthrough that Kisuke has already accomplished multiple times over. This is also shown in the blood war. Urahara is easily the smartest character we see in the franchise Despite not being the oldest or most powerful
@@jwilsthem.c3780 in my opinion it goes kisuke>aizen>mayuri when it comes to battle iq/strategy and kisuke>mayuri>/=aizen when it comes to regular iq (honestly i cant prove it but thats what ive gathered since watching/reading bleach
I don't recall the 2nd weakness ever being a thing especially considerng he got Ywatch caught in it. and I wouldn't consider the "3rd" as a weakness. It's like saying having to call out your zanpakutō's name is a weakness. It's just an activation condition and he literallly only has to do it once.
So in other words: Plot BS. There hasn't been on instance of KS being used against Aizen. The only counter has been Gin touching the sword to void the effect or being blind. Kubo just couldn't come up with a cool why for Ichigo to fight KS Aizen, so decided to make it a DBZ powerlevel fight and that's a shame because he boosted Ichigo to peak physical stats, which he could have had a neat dynamic where Ichigo would have to fight Aizen blind (and with his peak senses, he COULD HAVE).
We don't specifically know how the shikai activation works either. It might make Aizen vulnerable or take a certain amount of time. He had more than enough time to show the Gotei 13 over the years, but it might not be effective mid-combat.
Touching the blade of released Kyoka Suigetsu was the way to break the spell, not to make you immune. And Aizen had to release shikai to make it work. Simply touching the blade has no effect.
Am I the only one that remembers the dead central 46 and how when unahana appeared before izen she let him know that something was up with his corpse which is why she was there in the first place to get to the bottom of it. So it might just not work well on really smart people.
There is scene where Aizen showed Unohana & her lieutanaunt some of the capabilities of his shikai. Unohana being one of the most senior captains probably saw Aizen's bankai during his captains exam.
Simpler answer: Arrogance. At that moment, he basically believed he had won, and nothing anyone could do could stop him. He took no efforts to block or defend himself at all, which is why Urahara's hidden kido was able to get him in the first place.
Aizen just used KS on toshiro, the vizards and the others playing with em as if they're fighting aizen but actually it's momo Aizen is always arrogant no matter what he does
So actually kyoka suigetsu gets lifted by someone with mucher higher reiatsu. Then my Question is had Sould King Yhwach not enough Reiatsu difference? Because it worked on him
1st weakness is touch the blade 'BEFORE' it puts you into KS and that weakness no longer exist. 2nd weakness makes sense but no way kisuke has higher reatsu than aizen. 3rd weakness makes sense too but why didn't aizen put kisuke in KS while bith if them were in SS ? I think the only reason aizen didn't put kisuke in KS is because aizen wanted kisuke to aid in ichigo's development since aizen can't involved himself directly.
