Why Didn't Giyu Take Part In The Hashira Training?
Giyu, like most hashira, has a troubled past, he lost his sister to a demon at a young age and decided to train under Urokodaki the water hashira. Here he met and became really good friends with Sabito who he believed was a better demon slayer and knew he would take on the title of water hashira. However, as we already know, Sabito lost his life to the hand demon protecting Giyu.
So Giyu didn't join the Hashira Training because he didn't feel like he fit in with the other Hashira. As he believed they had earned their title through hard work, while he just got lucky.
