Ubisoft is trying to milk gaming for all its worth, their pricing schemes are insane right now. They are going to price themselves into oblivion.

As i get older and am starting to have more bills to pay the newer generation of games are just pushing me out financially gaming is just getting way to expensive in this day an age.

People need to realize that 10 years ago, big studios like Ubisoft, Blizzard, Electronic Arts were/are only successful because they had the big money. Every Month X Indie Games come out with more passion and quality. Days of AAA Studios are over.

I really do hope Ubisoft goes under with everything they are doing.. because then there the hope someone will buy the Ip's up and do good stuff with it..

Are the devs at these companies even gamers? Do they use social media? Because if the answer to these questions is yes, then they are choosing to actively not listen to communities wishes and choose to short-term moneygrub instead of developing something valuable that people actually would enjoy to play. Honestly this season just goes to show how much they really are out of touch with themselves. When your describing fenrir as a spam gadget you've lost the plot. Or my favorite the new recruits will bring so much choice yet your restricted to only 4 guns. Oh yeah did I forget to mention too the map filter for standard which was in the game day 1 and got removed cuz they felt to many maps got ignored. Like I'm sorry but you've lost the plot. That being said this is why I have switched my gaming habits to try to only play games that respect me as a gamer and don't spew out crap for the game.

Man it’s sad to see. I pre ordered siege way back when and loved the buggy mess to hell. It was intense and a totally new genre to me. I was addicted. Personally I think it peaked in like year 4 though and I’ve scarcely touched it since then. It’s essentially dead to me now but memories last forever and I’ll remember how fun this game was.

After Rainbow Six went from a tactical shooter to a arcady hero shooter, I knew it was gonna be all downhill from there.

Ubisoft literally shut down development on another game and problably canned most of the staff, just to drop more DLC. Purely profit motivated, zero innovation and minimal content.

I preferred the game in 2015, I don’t care if it wasn’t a top seller with not as many players, personally, I liked the game better. This really just makes me appreciate what Crytek is doing with Hunt:Showdown, giving it an engine upgrade instead of a sequel, and allowing account transfers for the ps4/xbox one players so they don’t have to rebuy the game or all their dlc when they upgrade hardware.

IMO the problem is stakeholders. As someone in software, it always boils down to whats in the minds of higher ups. the devs probably want to make creative things, but the things is profit margin of implementing new features. You never know if a new mode or new op will result in higher revenue. however, there is always a higher chance of increased revenue when you find a way to monetize more. There is a trade-off of people leaving to more revenue, but if their profits still go up even with the player-base dropping slightly, its a win in their books. its sad.....but its business. and its their business. As a consumer I dont agree with it, but as a producer I see why they do what they do. Hard part is I still can't believe they are being so blatant about their intent. At least add new features WITH money focused decisions. Instead we getter BS filler content while the real release is their money grab.

Siege was my go to from day one for around 2-3 years and man it has just really become bloated and filled with uninspired shit. Shame.

Yeah this season is a total wash aside from some improvements. The boos from the crowd when the membership was announced at the Major were clear. Season 3 better bring it..

How do they continue to kill siege still baffles me. It's like they dont learn at all. Lost a huge chunk of their playerbase after destroying the core gunplay and movement and continue making bad decisions. Games dead. Just a cash cow now

That's why I hated the 2 weeks exclusivity time for new ops. Even if most didn't think of it as a big deal, if you give Ubisoft a finger, they'll try and take the whole arm

They might have lost a lot of staffs or something. happens a lot in AAA space. If the game you're working on goes well other company will pay you more to hire you. Some games are a launch pad for developers to get better job that it never has a long serving staff that many ppl get hired,go through training period cuz you can't just start making new content day1,move on before actually making anything.

I havent played siege in years but man that game was fun, id jump back in if any of my friends still played it, dont think I know anyone still playing this. Honestly shocked its still going on.

The ai playlist is an absolute joke. Training grounds worked with every character on attack and defense with access to every map. Now it's hard for them to add 4 operators to the ai list ... They should scrap it and give us training grounds back. The difference from hard and normal on ai is unreal, and why are maps locked to hard mode? Only 3 maps for causal players? How are they going to learn anything??? It's funny ubisoft said they listen to the community but How many streamers don't have charms that have supported the game for years? If anything they listen to people who aren't apart of the community, Online kitties that make things about race, in search for attention... They don't support their creators, only play a narrative that fits them best in the moment. They don't see you, they see a number.

I'm so glad I just went away from all of this uninstalled Siege like a year ago and never looked back same goes for any other competitive multiplayer I'm just burnt out and rather play a compelling singleplayer game on my time and without having to sweat to enjoy it

2:55 The problem is that the game got so successful they see it as an opportunity for near infinite growth of income with little to now work on their end. The fact that people didn't move away from this hyper competitive e-sports trash sooner gave them the confidence to keep it up. If people don't stop playing the game al together, Ubi will have learned that they should charge a monthly subscription for more $60/$70 dollar to enter games AND have boat loads of MTX/lootbox grinding/DLC/all that for ALL their games. I absolutely hate what new BS standards "AAA" publishers are trying to set, always pushing the envelope for squeezing as much money from as little effort as they can why treating their employees like shit and their customers like addict morons.

What i personally find ridiculous about r6 is the community reaction about recruit remaster saying he is dead ect. Did they forget the state recruit was since void edge ? It killed recruit it removed most of his arsenal and fixed attachments and stuck on the worst game mode. The remaster allow all attachments we want + secondary gadgets it's just an improvement. And people who expected a unique gadget for recruits complain but if they got a unique one the community would still complain because it's not recruit anymore

Ubi can't stand the thought of people liking siege so now they drip feed to see if they can finally stop. Player numbers might still be good but the game feels like it's lost it's soul and identity. Rank doesn't matter in the slightest, newer players don't actually understand how to play the game (I'm basically always the only one reinforcing or setting up rotations now) and the operators that should actually be tweaked or balanced are left alone while they mess over recruit for no reason. Plus cheaters are still at all time highs despite what they say. Its sad to see major Siege YTers starting to walk away and Ubi just does not care.

The thing with siege is that it's so rinsed out. They are running out of ideas.

I think the only thing left for Ubisoft to do in terms of microtransaction BS is to ban you from resubscribing to their battle pass subscription, if you fail a payment. So if a payment fails, you get unsubscribed obviously, but then if you try to resubscribe the game's like "nuh-uh, you can't do it for 3 months because you were a bad boy and didn't pay us on time before". That's how COD Mobile does it LMAO. The original one that is, not Warzone Mobile.

The subscription is a quiet way of making back revenue from Heartland being cancelled though they would have made more money releasing Heartland even as a FTP game in my opinion

Everything went sideways with AAA studio's once they stopped listening to the player base. They need to stop catering to the board members and get back to the basics. Ubisoft, Activision, EA, Epic.. the list goes on, all have taken significant steps back. I'm hopeful things will improve as the post covid boom slows down in the industry.

Ubisoft manages to make a battle pass in a GAAS that has nothing with multiplayer. And all paid Skins from a game will be transferred on to the next protagonist in the future. Ubisoft innovates ways to make money but never innovates their games. Thank you, this video made me rethink and I decided that I'm not going to pay for a membership because of Bravo packs, credits and skins (I think there will be early access in the future for operators)

R6 Siege has alot good, definitely one of the better Triple A MP games. BUT I can't think of a single monetization scheme Sieges doesn't do. Which immediately puts it on my shit list.
