Great explanation and thought provoking question. Thank you! Please do more of these. I'm thinking that during the Reformation the "baby got thrown out with the bathwater." Why do you not give examples of use in the first 100 years of the church? St. Paul nor the Apostles express use in the early church. If white is good, why aren't all vestments white?
Revelation is a great source for the worship practices in the first century since the images often focus on worship. White is the color worn by Jesus and those in heaven, in the Revelation. For more study, check out "The Shape of the Liturgy" by Gregory Dix. Thanks for watching and commenting.
