I'm no dietician nor am I a nutritionist, but It's possible that your gut health is severely lacking is good bacteria (the bacteria that'll break down those complex sugars: soluble fiber) and you only have bad bacteria in your gut: stuff that comes from a sugar heavy diet. Perhaps introduce more probiotics (sauerkraut, pears, Greek yogurt) and some high fiber foods (all vegetables). These foods will attract this healthy bacteria that will aid in having a healthy gut. Having a diverse, healthy gut microbiome is essential to wholesome, healthy living. Your gut health is far reaching in terms of its effect on your mental state, cancer prevention, better immune system, better energy, and more. Again, I'm just a guy who's watched a lot of nutritional videos online, I'm no expert. But I can assure you that eating more high probiotic and high fiber foods who only do good for you. Hope this helps!
