Why Do Collectors Love VSTAR Universe? 

8 months since your video… I’ve purchased 3 vstar boxes for $60. Good call! I do see listings from $60-$110, and single packs all near $10. Might try my luck with climax but they are all listed for $110 and up

You got SUPER lucky! Crazy good pulls. I've opened 4 boxes and NONE of them even came close to being as good as these. Just a warning to those opening. Keep your expectations low and you'll be happy.

Love this set. Opened 3 booster boxes and got 3 golds. All different ones as well. Last box had the Arceus and SAR mewtwo. So much fun opening them up

I’ve only got to get 3 boxes and have only opened one… I enjoyed every minute opening it, it was so much fun. Will keep an eye out for more of the prices drop again. I got those 3 for about $75 each

Even though I already master set VSTAR Uni, I still find myself opening it a lot. It's literally the only Japanese set where I am left feeling really happy. When I purchase these boxes, my friends always tease me on why I am continuing to break these if I am not chasing for anything. The only excuse I give them is that it will be the only set that makes me feel good 🤣

I believe it’s pronounced ear-ah-duh. Since TPC always has to make a pun, they named her Irida because she is the leader of the Pearl Clan, and pearls are most often described as being iridescent. So I believe the pronunciation should be the same for Irida.

Opened 2 boxes of this first box was already amazing and the second box was similar to yours. It had the Zeraora Vstar alt art + my girlfriend pulled that same Irida card! It was insane to open up!

I mean suuuuper lucky pulls. There’s plenty of $10 SAR/SR but I agree Vstar is one of the best sets ever for sure 👌🔥

yeah the high class sets are the ones I usually buy. They are always full of great cards.

What do you think about the Korean version? They also seem like great quality as well, just never bought Korean or Japanese boxes yet.

English version (Crown Zenith) should have gone with the gray borders. Imo they look cleaner.

What are your thoughts about collecting Korean sets since they’re priced lower than Japanese?

What do you think is the reason behind the higher quality of Japanese products vs English? My assumption is that there are much more English cards being printed so they have to save on materials and overall quality but I'm not a seasoned collector at all.

As far as i know, there was a reprint like 2 months ago so i really doubt it will be made again. I remember price dropped to like 80$ per box in that time

What are your thoughts on the LIFE TRADING CARD GAME. Personally, I think it sounds really fascinating to get my foot in the door with the 1st. edition boxes especially since it all goes to charity. Where do you recommend I could buy v star universe booster box jpn?

I've only opened 1 box of this set so far(paid $200 for one at my LGS at the time) and it was indeed extremely fun to open. Pulls for days lol. I was able to pull the Melony and Glaceon Vstar SAR from mine. Will be getting another one soon. And you definitely made a decent profit on that box, I guess it makes up for that disaster of an opening last video lol!

Amazing pulls! I opened 2 Vstar Universe booster boxes in the past and I wasn't as lucky. Got twice the same Hatterene SAR. If indeed there is a large reprint, I'll pick a few boxes to open them up and have a better experience (hopefully)

Lol you say "easy PSA 10's" but didn't even look at the back of the Charizard. Both of the VStar Uni boxes I opened had corner chips/white spots on the secret rares right out of the pack... I know that isn't every box, but I'm 0-2 on clean cards that were the top hit and that is a long way from "easy 10's on even an art rare card".

I have pulled the Irida in English, it's a pretty cool card

This set is what made me re discover the hobby jake, was ignorant how bad the JP market was back then even being new to japanese cards im happy i got when i did but am scared the next high class set will be a stupid price on release

I‘m kinda sad tho. I have Vstar Universe Displays here and payed 120€, cause that’s the market value in Europe by trusted sellers. I saw the price climbing and thought it’s gonna be my last chance to pick these Booster Boxes up… I thought the Pokémon Company is busy printing 151 and Ruler of the Black Flames rn Don’t know if I should be happy or sad that Vstar Universe gets a reprint.

Normally I agree with everything you say Jake , but man my boxes sucked. 4 opened and every single hit and card was horribly off centered. Best hit was Cynthia SAR and Mewtwo SAR and both are awful centering along with the rest 😢

Yea, Japanese is better than English in almost every way possible. Sometimes I’d rather pay double MSRP on JP than half on EN.

Because Japanese quality is supremely better than English, why do you think Japanese cards are worth more graded? If it’s so easy to get a Japanese card in a 10, shouldn’t it be worth less than English? If English cards are harder to find in perfect condition I would think those should be worth more

Spent around $90 dollars with 60 of it being in-store credit. In 1 week on single packs i got a Umbreon Vmax, Espeon Vmax alt art, Charizard ex, Mew vmax, Bolthund vmax, revavroom ex, houndoom ex, Poppy alt art, and a Serperior Vstar. I still can't believe it happened in a week.

Really sad and disappointed with how the quality of English card that is made in USA is so much inferior to Japanese (made in Japan) or even traditional Chinese card (made in Taiwan). I would rather have English card to be made in China to have a better quality and centering.
