Dogs do communicate through barks,eye expression and body language.In a one to one relationship a pet will call out to the master with a small bark when hungry,and the clock is dot on that time,a dog communicates through a bark even when they are in some kind of discomfort,it is amazing to see the bonding between a pet and the owner when there are just these two living a life.

I've never had a child but I'd relate a dog bark to the cry of a baby. Over time the mother/parent is able to understand what the different types of crying mean from their child and it's the same with dogs. After a while I was able to understand exactly what each of the barks of my dogs meant.

Dogs are clever and bring so much fun, mine would lay in the garden with Blackbirds nicking bits off his bone and he never bothered. But if he heard the Blackbird Alarm Call he would tear out of the house barking like mad looking through the hedges knowing there was a lousy cat around trying to kill the birds.

This is incorrect. Wolves can bark. They use it to communicate. But they howl more than barking. Look it up. Wolves are capable of barking.

Dogs don't just bark to communicate they use body language my dog does not bark that much so she communicates with body language I understand the body language now because that's the only way for her to communicate to me without barking so she does not bark unless someone is at the door so try to pick up on your dogs body language and listen to them learn from them

When we first tried to domesticate tamer wolves, they created a barking sound when they heard or sensed out predators. We ended breeding those tamer wolves to have different characteristics, while many traits stayed in these tamer wolves, such as teeth made for tearing flesh. The barking when the tamer wolves heard predators later evolved into barking for many reasons for the dogs we now love and keep as pets.

One must understand not only the barks,but,MOST of all being able to read the their body language and their eyes.Because ,simple things like,going to the door,sitting down and making eye contact with you,is that doggy letting you know that,pee,pee,poop-poop or simply wanting to go outside and play,is what's needed
