@@miseryparty3726 wym is nothing special dodge whether you wanna acknowledge it or not that brand literally brought muscle cars back from being not as known and now everyone and their grandpa want muscle cars now be it Mustang or Chevy all because of the challenger 💅🏽
Bro that’s what going on up in Detroit and down here I’m south Memphis where I’m at… they’ll steal a hellcat and pull-up the motor drive train and trans etc out and slap it in a 300c or second gen charger
@@IFreshhx my Stingray mostly sleeps in the garage. Do not rely solely on the manufacturer’s anti-theft system. Their main business is making cars, which they do to varying levels of competence.
If your getting a scat or hellcat. Upgrade the alarm system. Get two hidden trackers. Get security windows. And install an ignition code. Seems like alot but its worth it.
Is the sellers fault or the buyers fault? Imo, if a buyer cannot keep their car secured at all times, just don't buy it. Dodge did a great job displaying and marketing a car, at the end of the V8 era and rise of the EV, of affordable American muscle. Don't get me wrong it sucks to have something taking from you that you worked hard for; however, protecting your product is on the individual. Thanks Dodge, you did great, but that EV shit is for losers!!! M.O.
@@cameronlewis7029 I can agree with you slightly. A lot of these scats and cats are stolen in peoples driveways at night. Solution is to have it in your garage lol. But what I can’t get my head around is dodge making it so easy to steal that when you’re inside the grocery store or any place for more than 10 mins it’s a coin flip if the car is even still there. That’s unacceptable to me and is turning me off from a mopar. Wanted to cash in on one of the last model year cats but I’d rather keep my f80 m3 that just so happens to be way harder to steal and also 30k cheaper. Lol.
When looking to buy a used car and I can get in contact with the owner of the car, the first questions that I ask off the top is 1 - Do you have the title in your possession for the car you are selling? 2 - is your name on the title of the car you are selling or are you selling the car for a friend? 3 - Should I come to look a the car, will the location be at your house or somewhere else? Should you decide to go, please take a friend or two with you for safety and security purposes and don't go looking at no car at night always during the day. It's very important to listen to the responses to those questions above. My motto is "no title, I won't even bother to show up".

Good morning Jones. You did say that, you are absolutely right brother.I felt you weren't giving yourself enough respect and making excuses to justify that having a car insured is a reason to steal it? Either way I appreciate you and your feedback. Have a great day brother
@@moparlife430 The info that I shared is for those that are going to look at a used car & possibly buy a car from a private seller. I posted a lot of people ignore it & a good friend of mine went through this. Unfortunately, this is revealing that people don't read.

Back in the 80's & 90's here in Chicago we was hooking up Box Chevy's. We was losing sleep over them. Back in 91 I had a 88 box on Cragar 30's and vogues and sounds in the trunk. Had like 6 attempts to steal my shit. We had the "Club" back then. I just started parking in the garage and had chains on each side locking the garage.
@@junyaiwase What he means is that even if they program the key - break the window to get in - they're shocked to see a stick shift sitting there, so they walk off. I have a 6-speed manual Jeep Wrangler. I know what he means.
You know what’s crazy is that if Dodge lowers the price of the parts, it will automatically render the car less valuable thus making it cheaper and less desirable to steal.
I do the same shit with insurance bro & 4 years ago I reported my scat pack charger stolen and insurance wrote it off before it was recovered and I stripped the car and make like 44 on the street
If you purchase one of these I highly recommend you have a secured lot or garage ! I also recommend you have a second car for doing everyday shit like going to the grocery store, going to work, etc
@@WoodsmanFriggz smart man! Cus you’d be amazed at how many eyes are on you when you go to places like the grocery store or the gym or any place where you leave ya ride in a public parking lot. Can't help but think that part of the reason might be because certain Mopars like scatpacks, hellcats, and trackhawks are very popular amongst certain demographics. Some of those people might live in places that are socio-economically worse, and therefore be more inclined to steal the car.
@@Sir_Floydcel Ye, I'm not trying to be racist, but certain... basketball types may be more inclined than the average citizen to "pick up a new scat or cat without payin", if you know what I mean.

Yes the new edge prices are a little high, I think it will eventually get to those prices in maybe 5 yrs or so. Everyone is doin some type of swap to them so that bring the (factory spec) ones to a smaller number and THAT is what's foin to drive those prices up. Look what happened to fox bodies.... the prices almost doubled in a few yrs. I will say the ones I could see some of those prices for is the (Mach 1) *the blue ones are the rarest* with that said how many decent 00-04 mustangs will be around in the next 6 yrs? I'm just curious to know how the 05 and up computers are gonna hold up over the next 30 yrs if that
Terminators are a different class of new edge to be clear but they’ve been skyrocketing for the last six years or so. I’m seeing driver mileage examples with visible wear and tear but still well built selling for well into the mid 40’s
It surprised me about gbody prices the offers I got on selling my Malibu it's almost tempting I have a Malibu wagon I'm thinking about letting go but not my coupe
Me personally I’m more of a crowd control mustang fan. I appreciate these challengers and chargers for the power and land yacht they are. But like I see em everyday, I’d rather have me a cheap lil Honda with a k24 in it and I’m all good
Oh my god how is this comment not getting more thumbs up, this is the time to be saving dollars cause if that shit goes down this summer with the debt ceiling there will be MASSIVE PAIN for everyone, even folks who have savings. Get a used Corolla or keep what you have until 200k
Same as the 80s regal.. i remember back in 03 my pops had a 85 regal, grandpops painted it dolphin teal with matching suede seats. wood grain wheel, tweets, 2 12s and 22inch chrome 88 daytons with the diamond cap. The night it was complete it was stripped bare the next day found at a junkyard. Just a shell with the box the subs were in.. Pops was sick 😔 never got a chance to drive it.
People with these types of cars need to install hidden kill switches. It takes less than a hundred dollars and requires almost no knowledge on how to install it. Don't put it in a place where a lot of people put it. In fact if you have a higher end vehicle make the kill switch down right impractical to find. You'd only be taking a car like this out once or twice a week so having an inconvenient location for a kill switch wouldn't be a problem for you but would add so much time on the thieves part trying to find it or it might even make them give up entirely if the location is hidden enough
As much as I would love to own one myself I don't like the thought of having mine stolen because some asshole is to sorry to go to work and buy their own. I'll just stick to my orginal plan of getting a Pontiac Trans Am with similar or more power or do an engine and transmission swap in my 2003 GMC Sierra just to drive it, have fun , and enjoy it without some punk taking it from me. Also a Trailblazer SS if I ever come across one if I need something a little bit more practical for daily use.
People need to install a fuel pump and ignition killer that isnt factory I have on my vehicle as soon as I trigger it on my phone regardless if you have the key or hotwire it or whatever is chosen it kills both of those until I say it can run again
I remember back in the day nobody cared about these cars they had the SRT's Daytonas etc. people used to associate them with cool cop cars soon as they dropped the Hellcats in 2015 it was a wrap and that's true about those chevy's I knew two people that got there boxes stolen stripped and burnt to the ground in Miami lol crazy how nobody steals Camaros like that I always thought the ZL1 was a pretty slick car
If you don't have a home with a iron gate or garage don't buy this car. If you stay in apartments don't buy this car. You need kill switch, alarm, gps, shifter lock, pedal lock. It take me 5 minutes to bring my car out my yard cause of security but it's worth it
I live in a gated community with armed guards in a upper class neighborhood. I can live my car doors open with the keys in the ignition and no one would bother it.

They are already getting away from FOBs altogether. SPaaK modules are the new thing. Smart phone as access key. You'll get an NFC card too just in case the phone isn't accessible. Now there's 5 or 6 different modules beaming RF waves at everyone in the car and stellantus has access to your apple cloud account. Nice right?
Idk, marketplace can be hit or miss, I recently bought an 07 TL type S for 2k. Dude was asking 4500 but during the test drive he divulged he was getting married snd the new fam was buying him a new car, so I knew he didn’t really need the money for like a down payment on a newer one. Then I pointed out everything wrong with the car, even though it was simple stuff he shoulda addressed before selling it. Like a few interior pieces were missing, not gone, just in the trunk and not reinstalled when he put the double din in.
