On May 29, 2017, Governor Abbott signed a bill that creates a consistent set of rules across Texas for both ridesharing companies and drivers like you. This new law went into effect immediately, and it means that a City of Dallas permit is no longer required to pick up riders within the Dallas city limits or at the airports. This also means that you’re able to drive in any Texas city where Uber operates-without having to pay extra fees or jump through hoops for a separate license-as long as your account is in good standing. Thanks to these changes, there will be the same regulations for all drivers in Texas instead of different rules from city to city. Still need a decal for Love field I think.
oh, so Fort Worth no permits, I guess I could shoot up there while I complete the permit business. And it sounds like you grab an app and find when the flight come in. any more pro tips or tools to see what happening before running over?
I just received my driver's permit for DFW this week, but a rock dinged my windshield and now it has spread....do you think I will still pass the vehicle inspection? Thanks in advance!
Hey Andrew - Yes you will need to get that fixed. My friend went and they made him get an oil change or it wouldn't pass. Seems like these TNC inspections are pretty tough.
Yeah extremely tough; no dings, no scratches, no nothing. I just bought a used car and will be spending another 3 grand on a paint job to get the damn inspection! Hey, great channel...I really hope you make some more videos.
