Why do I need such a long wheelchair ramp? 

In this video, we'll explain why wheelchair ramp length and slope are very important when it comes to safety.
ADA guidelines recommend 12 inches (1 foot) of ramp for every 1 inch of rise. Rise is the distance between the ground and the threshold of your door or the top of your porch or wherever you are trying get a person in a wheelchair.
