Drake raps different. People like king los (im a huge fan) they can have doubles and triples all day long. But Drake raps exquisitely, he talks heavy, even his lines without bars hold weight where as rappers like Los have to more so rely on methaphors etc. Drake is slick,he also lives a lifestyle where he can back up everything he raps about which most rappers CAN'T do. Big boss decadent Jay Z kinda shit. He is smooth, man raps like a mafia boss. Only Drake, Jay, Ross to an extent can do it. Also he is consistent as fuck, can make any kinda song, he knows what he is doing. Drake also has replay value which most lyrical miracle rappers DON'T have. This is from someone who loves bars and lyrical rap but I can't bump that all day long. He paints a picture, he is rich asf yet some how make his content relatable and insipring lol.

Ppl tend to use the fact that Drake doesn't have the craziest bars all through his songs as a slight but it's actually a talent to blend good lyricism & also have replay value.He can go very lyrical if he wants. Drake loves Loaded Lux but he's a bit to lyrical for the average consumer. I think that's why Kendrick album was received how it was. Great lyrics & and concept, but does it have replay value..not so much

I think a lot of native english speakers underestimate how hard it is to listen and understand certain bars in rap and if it gets really nerdy with wordplay etc. a lot of rappers loose the global audience, because its just hard to "get" every bar. Drake balances the line of "just creative enough, but not too complex" so perfectly that americans or native speakers can give probs to the bar and the entire globe feels good about themselfes, because they understood a wordplay. I dont think "the more complex - the better" is something that would work (neither is it something drake strives for) if you have the reach that drake has.
