Why do I wear holes in my golf glove. Have you ever asked, "Why do I wear holes in my golf glove?" And do you want to stop wearing holes in your golf glove? This video explains the two main reasons you wear out your glove on the heel of your hand. I'll explain what they are in this video. When you fix it you'll improve your game, make golf gloves last longer, and save money!

I wear two gloves. Does the same apply if I'm getting holes in both of them?

Maybe. Send me a photo of them for forensic analysis 😂

Thank you for this video. I'm coming back to golf and have been quickly wearing and tearing my gloves on the heel of my left hand. I've even begun to have some pain and the beginnings of trigger finger in my left little finger. I'm sure this will help me. This is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!

Club Pro here in Searcy, Arkansas. One of my members just came in and asked me that exact same question. My answer went straight to grip pressure. Nice to have another thing to look for! Cheers!

I subscribed on the off chance that you might be different... You are. I love how your videos are regarding things that get lost between subjects from other instructors. I am so happy that you mentioned grip pressure as this was thr problem I was having with a tore palm. Great videos. Thanks for taking the time to put this together.

Lee Trevino's advise to stop to hit fat was to keep tight the last three fingers of the left hand on the grip so the club did not move in the palm during the back swing.I think this has also to do in part with the topic of this video
@ChangeGolfInstruction
@ChangeGolfInstruction Год назад
Yes, I agree. Starting with the club in the right place though is easier to stop the club moving 👍🏻

I been battling this issue for years. I set up with proper grip then right before I make my swing I feel left hand re-adjust into palm of hand. I often stop and start over before swing but I just can't brake the habbit
@ChangeGolfInstruction

Keep at it! If you can feel it is wrong, that is a step in the right direction!
@jpxst180s6

If you were holding too high on the grip , with the left hand over the grip cap , would that give you funny club path ??as your hands would move and you’d have to readjust not even knowing at speeds .
@ChangeGolfInstruction
@ChangeGolfInstruction 2 года назад
Hi there, when your hands move it is most likely to affect the club face -- either opening it or closing it. That isn't to say that if the face gets twisted then you may try and neutralize it by changing the path. The clubface has more influence on the starting direction of the ball than the path. So sometimes golfers think they have a path problem when really it is just a clubface problem. It is worthwhile figuring out which it is so you make the right changes to correct it. Best wishes, Sue

I have a hole in my glove exactly where you mentioned. After analysis, I noticed it's because it's moving at the top of my swing. For me, it made sense to have the sensation of really tightening down my pinky finger. This seems to keep the club from not moving at the top of the swing. I noticed better contact immediately. Does the sensation of only tightening down on the pinky seem like a good idea, or could it lead to other problems down the line? Thanks!
@ChangeGolfInstruction
@ChangeGolfInstruction Год назад
Hi! Thanks for your message. Yes, regripping at the top of the backswing can definitely create that wear on the golf. And regripping can be exasperated by an incorrect grip -- so holding the club more in your fingers is a good thing for sure. Keep doing it!

What if I hit 300 range balls a day? Often times I am picking them up at my club as we do not have a driving range but we do have several spots where we are allowed to hit. I hit so many golf balls that I often have to wear a glove on both hands to stop from getting blisters. On hot days I might go through two if not three pairs of gloves because my hands get so sweaty.
@ChangeGolfInstruction
@ChangeGolfInstruction 3 года назад
Hi -- thanks for your question. Yeah, you'll get wear and tear if you are hitting a lot of balls. But even so, you shouldn't be wearing a hole on the heal of the glove. Maybe also consider whether it is constructive to hot balls until you get blisters. I know Ben Hogan used to practice that way (so it can't be all bad), but we know more about an effective way to practice now and it doesn't usually mean grinding at the same part of the game for too long. I wonder whether this video is useful to you: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NXvqgKpvfWo.html Best wishes, Sue

@@ChangeGolfInstruction Thanks Sue! I do this not only because I enjoy it but for exercise as well. I obviously sweat quite a bit and in order to be able to continue doing what I like to do, I go through quite a few gloves. I will check out that video. Be well!

That's where I wear through my gloves. But I have 25+ rounds on my glove. Is that acceptable? I thought I was doing well, LOL. Also a little wear on my thumb.
@ChangeGolfInstruction

I think you should be able to make it through more than that. I'll post a link to the left hand grip and you can check the pad of your left hand is in the right place.

I think I must be regripping at the top of my swing. I can burn through a glove in one round...
@ChangeGolfInstruction
@ChangeGolfInstruction 2 года назад
@@WilliamWeitz Yes, something is causing friction for that to happen. Check your top hand grip first (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-F1WaFMwDhpk.html), and then go from there.

@ChangeGolfInstruction
@ChangeGolfInstruction Год назад
Hi there, by holding the club correctly in the left hand it should stop the club moving. That means gripping it between the little finger and the pad of the left hand. It tends to move because it isn't in the right place to start. This video may also be of help to you: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-F1WaFMwDhpk.html Thanks! Sue
