The birds are meant to indicate lift for the gliders, birds can detect thermals and tend to fly near them which makes them a great tool for glider pilots. Idk why they put so many though.

@swiss001 you could try Condor 2 which is the best gliding simulator RN. The terrain graphics aren’t that good but it is from 2018.

What I look for in any simulator is realistic physics. No matter how beautiful it is or how big it is.

Weather conditions: for gliders you only need cumulus clouds. You don’t really care about other clouds, just cumulus as they are a sign of thermals, you just look not to fly in any cloud

I personally started glider flying at the local glider strip, and every glider ive been in yet ( ASK 21 and Astir i dont know which) didnt have an artificial horizon, but typically you fly a glider with vfr conditions where you dont need that as you shouldnt fly through clouds, which definitely isnt that much vfr

NO this is absolutely not a great way to prepare to join a flight school. It is actually a terrible idea. I haven’t played this particular flight simulator, but gliders in real life behave very differently and you could mess up something, the more when you don’t have pedals, if you join a flight school you won’t have to just learn all the flying, but you will firstly have to get out of bad habits from the simulator and then learn. After I joined flight school my instructor told me to absolutely not play any flight simulators during the course as it can change the way I steer the glider and I could mess up.

Artificial horizon is upside down in this type of glider (Blanik). But most gliders don’t even have artificial horizon, personally I never flew a glider that had it.

I think the birds are for if you are towing to view where is the thermals and it might be useful for glider pilots as well, i never played the game so idk if thats true hahaha

A Polish Wilga, Cool. also on Polish/Russian Aircraft the Artifical Horizon is inverted & the W in Wilga is prounounced like a V.

Swiss001, that turboprop plane that you flown is a PZL-OKECIE PZL-104M WILGA 2000 (I think) and it's from Poland. The place where you flown is in Mannheim.

It's wierd to recognize the Region. Im pretty sure that u are around Speyer. The blue bridge should be the Rheinbrücke Speyer. And the first Grass runway could be Hockenheim or Herrenteich. But im nearly 100% certain that this is around Speyer and Hockenheim.
