Welcome back man good to see you again , classic super saiyan 1 goku i have the smsp the xenoverse 2 version but maybe i get this one also. Maybe Bulma also don't have a Bulma figure yet.
Same. Grandista are the best for heroes, IK are a must for vilains. Except bulky Trunks, Great Sayiaman and maybe this Bulma, I don't plan to buy any good guys from the IK
I love it I’m excited! Especially the Goku. Again it looks similar to SMSP but it is shorter substantially vs the 14 inch tall SMSP so hopefully that will help it stand tall! Personally I’m hoping for a Champa next year!
Bandai has deprived us of any women Dragon Ball characters for too long! We riot until we get Afro Bulma!! I'm getting them all except the Last One Prize. I'm so happy when Bandai decides to save me money by making a useless Last One Prize that I have no urge to buy. I just purchased some GOOD Last One prizes tho. Nappa with Hair, Cyborg Tao Pai Pai, and I threw in Beast Gohan too even though he's not that different. You introducing me to Buyee has been the worst/best financial advice I have ever gotten! Thanks!!
Glad to see you hyped. I was as excited as you when I saw we were getting Bulma. I might get all but the Piccolo, both regular and LP, because I already got Orange Piccolo from the last set. Hopefully, once we get through the majority of DBZ/Super Hero stuff, we can finally get more of a variety of DBS characters and scenes made into figures. I need a SSGSS Kaioken Goku, or Hit, U6 Saiyans, something, anything at this point.
Glad to see you back at it. Personally I'm always of fan of at least the slightly more detailed versions of characters, but I also like the larger statues as well so a win win within the set. This year I'm going down to DBZ town!
I agree with you about Goku. 1. Super Saiyan Goku on Namek is iconic so if you're going to release similar figures that's one of them that you should and 2. I collect Masterlise only so I want a Goku that's on scale with my other figures, not one that's abnormally large compared to the others.
Even though I already have the mystic Gohan and Super Saiyan Gohan from the movie, I still want to get the base Gohan and the Beast Gohan. I know they reuse the sculpt but damn, they will look so cool together. Seriously need that insane Piccolo and that Bulma.
That I only go to his channel for the size comparisons of a statue that I get and the one that he already has but this is a good channel and the statues he reviews and I have personal favorite statues he reviews but at the same time I don’t fully watch the videos only for the size comparisons but still a good channel for DB, DBZ, DBGT and DBS statue collectors like me
For me this Kuji I will give 7/10! So my opinions are in relation to Gohan I just say it's ok, just another Gohan figure from Super Hero, this Orange Piccolo for me is better than the previous one from the last Kuji, I just want Bandai to launch a Piccolo figure in this pose of combat, but from DBZ so far there has only been one Piccolo from DBZ the rest are from Super Hero, now SSJ Goku is a figure very similar to that of SMSP, for me the difference is that those of SMSP were larger figures in relation to those of Masterlise and this figure of Goku from Masterlise has a few different colors compared to the one of SMSP, apart from that the pose is the same and looks like a beautiful figure, the one of Freeza is a fantastic figure and yes it is also very similar to an old Kuji, the old Kuji Frieza figure had the blood detail on the figure and some power effects behind the figure like the ones from Figuart Zero have, just like Goku this one of Frieza Masterlise there is an improvement in color change, in Bulma's figure I don't need to say nothing for me is the best of this Kuji and I also have nothing to say about the Last Prize it's more of the same!
I definitely don’t think it looks bad at all. Even if Gohan Beast is slightly recycled, the pose he’s in was actually one he had in the film so I don’t have a problem with it.
This is a great set! People seem to be confusing recycled to mean based on the same panels/scenes, which makes no sense. Obviously different figure lines are going to do their take on iconic scenes.
You should totally get the ichiban kuji frieza from 2011. It's absolutely stunning, same pose as this one, but the detail is spectacular. Not knocking this one, but so far i think the older one is better.
Great editing! I missed these videos, Matt. I've always wanted a super saiyan goku this size, the SMSP is not only expensive, but too big for my shelf. And even if it fit, the scale would look weird with my other kujis. Thanks! And Welcome back!
Probably have to see Gohan Beast in person when it comes out. Just something about the face is off. Bulma and Piccolo as well as Goku Saiyan are a win. Freeza is a bit meh. Great thoughts tho!
I’m sick of the super hero stuff but this set is balanced they played there new stuff but didn’t forget about old hits for the OGs. Yes Bulma is nice to see and refreshing a female figure that’s not sexualized. Also you have learned something. You can make content on this subject without buying every figure. A lot of figures came out this year would love to hear your thoughts.
@@MatchesPeaches very pleased bro, as i got into Dragon ball figure collecting because of you, when i saw your goodbye video to collecting i was actually disappointed and put me off collecting for 4-5 months but i got some new figures last week on a trip to Dubai and now your back makes things 💪🏼. Thanks and keep up the content👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Funniest part about the "recycles" is that the older figures that new ones were "recycled" from were both sculpted by Yamashita Manabu. SMSP Goku and 2011 Ichiban Kuji 100% Freeza. Frankly, the "new" and "old" ones were sculpted from the same manga artwork, that's why people are saying they're recycled. The 100% Freeza from 2011 is goddamn beautiful. You should try to get him if you ever get the chance. He was re-released in 2015, but was way less detailed than the original and had almost a glossy look to him.
The Frieza is gorgeous. Orange Piccolo is not bad at all. Bulma is nice too. 3/5 are great. Goku is not even bad if you don't have the SMSP. Only GOhan beast sucks. The problem is the lack of variety. Clearly A & B are kinda useless, with Orange P and Gohan Beast coming out in June, just few months before this Kuji. They should have put like Chubby Gotenks and/or Skinny Gotenks to complete the characters from the movie.
Frieza of Ichiban Kuji Dragon Ball Kai ~Strongest Rival~ set is a masterpiece. Manabu Yamashita sculpted it. This Frieza is not comparable. The rest I agree with you.
dude ive been waiting for this SS goku for TOOO LONG. lets be honest, the reason people are upset with it is because the beast gohan sucks ass. Also another orange piccolo already i can see some people not being too excited by, but at the same time the orange is actually a really nice figure and totally different than any previous piccolo. Then the last point is the LP being a recolor.
thought you stopped collecting figures!!? so I unsubscribed then you showed on my random feed as a new video, so are you back collecting? only one time thing?
There's a site you can go to that provides the info on sculptors when available, but I won't list it because I think that's what setting off the algorithm to delete my comments here. The SCultures line started by Banpresto in 2011, which is now defunct, really actually focused on sculptors rather than the characters themselves. It was more intended to showcase the artists, which is why I loved it so much. The "giants" who came out of this line were Hiroyuki Nakazawa, Matsuura Ken, Varoq, and Yamashita Manabu. The 2011 Ichiban 100% Freeza was originally supposed to be in the first SCultures release, but they released it under IK instead. Manabu's comfort zone is One Piece, but he's been doing DB figures since at least 2010. The FES line is done entirely by Hiroyuki Nakazawa, who really hit his stride with SCultures and MSP. A lot of Nakazawa's sculpts are still used today for figures from all lines. I know there's a base Goku hair sculpt he did originally for the first base Goku in MSP that's still regularly used today. That's also part of the reason why I think the sculptors aren't listed that often anymore, is because I think some figures are just mashed together components from older sculpts, but they may have someone redo a head or hair sculpt.
@@MatchesPeaches I feel no connection with the new transformations. There's no story background. Feels like they are rushed only to sell more toys. They are recolored of the old ones. The only cool thing was the ultra instinct that I liked and had some good background.
I will definitely get Gohan, Piccolo and Goku. Besides that SSJ Gohan Masterlise and Kid Buu. So glad I found a Source that actually gets me every figure I ask for 🫣🤣
