Show the opponent’s set up on DZ coverage. As Peter Laviolette says.. if puck is in the corner, all 5 of the opponent’s player are on 1 side, so move it to other side of ice so the opponent has to move their DZ coverage and that creates holes in coverage. The cycle accomplished very little. The DZ coverage doesn’t really have to adjust to anything and you’ve moved the puck to a non scoring area. What creates chaos is movement (pucks and feet). The more you move, the more likely someone is to be lost in coverage and/or coverage will breakdown. Same as always on offence make the ice as big as possible (East/West and North/South) in the OZ that means get puck to other side (usually behind the net or D2D), and stretch the zone (low to high). On forecheck, my personal belief is F1 ALWAYS has to be hard on puck but if he doesn’t have support it’s all for not. Whether that be a 2-1-2 or 1-2-2. A 1 person forecheck is as easy to escape as a soft forecheck. You don’t create chaos with no pressure or movement. If I was playing in an NHL game and no one took away time and space from me, I would not turn over the puck. You have to pressure teams to create turnovers
