No, what he did was far worse than that, he left him alone while he (Anakin) was slowly burned by the lava and poised by the toxic steam. And to make it worse, he took his lightsaber from him. He basically created Darth Vader through these acts because they all just fed him with scorn and wrath. And I don't believe that he truly loved Anakin at this point, maybe he did in the past, but not after he massacred the younglings. If he had truly loved Anakin, he would just kill him and so released him from his pain and suffering. But he didn't and made it just worse, and that is why I'm judging him.
They showed he knew in the last season on the clone wars and yes him and duchess were much the same with even Ani saying go find your girlfriend in one of the episodes

You know whats painful here? Obi wan being thrusted into a fatherly/brother/mentor role and Anakin still able to say "I hate you" despite all of the love and understanding Ben has for Ani.

obi understood bc of his own love with the duchess of mandalore, in the clone wars he told her “had you said the word i would’ve left the jedi order” he wanted anakin to have what he couldnt, so he stayed quiet and supported it from the background🥲
Another thing that could've motivated Obi-Wan was his love with Satine. He understood how he felt and understood just how powerful love was, so he let him and Padmé be.
This is canon. It should be in the movie, or at least in Clone Wars were it will fit perfectly, but it's clear Obi-Wan say it in the background, like when Anakin try to come back to the light in Moustaphar after lose his limbs
Why the actual hell did they delete this scene its so good and obi wan kenobi is my favorite character in star wars and he loved anakin and knew that he loved her. Obi wan is truly a good soul and even though love was forbidden he still accepted it because Anakin loved her and it made him happy. It was a mistake to delete that beautiful scene.
It's 2 way, obi wan was a great friend because of this and everything he did for Anakin, and Anakin was a good friend because he saved Obi's life so many times
It may have been a deleted scene but I’ve drawn this conclusion just from watching the movies myself. Obi Wan obviously turned a blind eye to some of the things Anakin did. This was because he trusted the force more than the Jedi counsel like his master, quigon. And he believed Anakin was the chosen one from the prophesy. And he believed Anakin was a good Jedi regardless of breaking a couple rules here and there.
I wish they would’ve posted this without the music in the background, ‘cause although I’ve read the dialogue, I’ve finally found the scene and it’s the first time I actually hear Ewan saying it.

It's because if it was Obi-Wan would of been shown he knows not to sneak onto Padme's ship and agrovate Anakin on Mustafar. If he knew that, the plot couldn't go in the right direction leading into the OT
She is so hot and nice that everybody would love her. Especially because he saw her when he was a child and she made strong impression on him when he saw first beautiful girl on planet. Deal not in age.
Only a difference of 5 years. Sure that’s a lot when in episode 1 Anakin is 9 and Padme is 14. In AOTC Anakin is 19 and Padme is 24. They’re both consenting adults.
This hits harder when you realise "you made him happy when nothing did" Is true because when he turns into vader the only thing that keeps him sane and not fully going to the dark side are the memories of padmè
this hit. especially because of how obsessed i am with Anakin and Obi-Wan’s relationship. this shows how Obi-wan disagreed a lot with the narrow view of the Jedi, but didn’t act on it like Qui-Gon did.
Why wouldn’t this be in the movie?? Seriously best scene you could cut and this would’ve had us all sobbing and it would’ve been the best moment showing obi wan’s love for Ani
Not gonna lie brother. He was not a father to him and that was the downfall. Obi had no control over. He was too young and not ready for an apprentice, let alone one as stone and stubborn as ani. Qui gon jinn was the true father and Master ani needed.
@@albino478gaming5 No. The thing that drove Anakin to the darkside was his worries of Padme, which led him to Palpatine, so, in an indirect way, Padme was the reason Anakin turned to the darkside.
It was funny in the Clone Wars when he knew Anakin was having a secret call with Rex covering him and Obi Wan straight up said ‘I hope you at least told Padmé I said hello’ 😂 Kenobi is just a fuckin’ G
And somehow they always say Obi Wan was an "unfair and harsh" master with Anakin, dude Obi Wan tried as hard as he could and treated him like a brother not like a student, he just wanted Anakin to learn that impulsiveness is not always the right choice and also Obi Wan had his arm twisted by the council, they are the real culprits here not Obi Wan, and let's be honest, the only master that could train Anakin was Qui Gon but because he was outside the council and didn't obey the conventional rules, Obi Wan did and that's why he had a twisted arm and even with that weight on his shoulders, he went as far as to hide Anakin and Padme's relationship, clearly a preposterous position to say Obi Wan was a bad teacher and mentor for Anakin, he did his best
This is such good dialogue. Obi-wan was too young to be a father figure to Anakin, but he tried his best. This scene would’ve done both of them justice.

Anakin is willing to do anything to protect her and if anakin wasn’t really blind by emperor that he was using him he would’ve ended it like let mace kill emperor or himself kill him
