Story time. Got my Ulamog the Ceaseless Hunger Time Stop'd ONCE in my group's game and they all laughed. Next time we got together I Academy Rector'd a Dovescape against 3 control players. These days I run so much anti-blue stuff with my Sliver it's absurd. Choke, Boil, and Dovescape using Boseiju and Primal Surge or Genesis Wave. If I'm gonna be hated for playing Slivers I'm going for ALL the enmity.
My roommate has a Sliver deck but I somehow made a way more annoying deck with Jodah the Unifier as a commander and a shit ton of legendary creatures as the body. When that Legendary Cascade hits, shit goes south for everyone real fast. I can usually flood the battlefield with at least 6 legendary creatures (all with +6/+6) by turn 5. After that I become the archenemy and things get really unfair, but even with the odds stacked one way so heavily, my friends still win sometimes.
Ok this might be an unpopular opinion, but if you give yourself hexproof, protection from everything, play an uncounterable spell with hexproof and all that, you deserve the time stop. You were prepared for everything but time stop, so that is exactly what you get. Either just play your fun deck and if someone has an answer shit happens, or be prepared for everything and don't complain if the one thing happens that you weren't prepared for. The only situation in which you get to complain is if you're playing for fun with your shit happens deck and your opponent plays their prepared for everything deck.
Friend of mine was playing modern, and was behind against a tribal player. The guy casts a spell and says "play spell, you cant counter it." My friend had mostly checked out, and said "oh, why?" His opponent then points to a cavern and explains that it makes his spell uncountable. So at this point my friend is a bit miffed cuz the guy had lethal and is just playing around, so my friend casts a subtlety on the spell, then scoops when the opponent pits the spell on top.
I played control for years at fnm. When I first changed to spirits I had a guy look SUPER smug with elf's, he used cavern of souls to cast shaman and said it can't be countered and how the etb would kill me.... I said ok I counter it... He re explained how I can't counter it.. I said yes but this isn't technically countering as I drop spell queller and he tried to argue that it can't be countered. I told him and the judge/shop owner next to us said yes I am right. Back to my turn and lethal crack back.
Told a guy the only thing I don't really like in edh is mass land destruction, guy chose that time to play his deck with mass land destruction. I did have the Boros charm in hand, and he ate my shit.
I was thinking of asiok's erasure 2UU enchantment w flash etb Exile target spell your opponents cant cast spells with the same name as the exiled card Works against "can't be countered"
I mean there are multiple formats and every group can make a mutual decision to ban certain things things For example in rainbow six siege my group agrees to ban shield charaters So just find a group you enjoy playing with
@@oreborg off topic but serious question is calling sombody a certain color deck player racist. I know it's ment to be funny and I laughed as a boros player but does that make me racist
