What is it about these pieces of steel that we find so beautiful and indispensable and the more powerful they are, the more they fascinate us?
Why do we spend hours and hours freezing to death in our garages in the winter or dying of heat in the workshop instead of going to the beach in the summer?
Why is it that when we buy a car we stand there staring at it from all angles and invite other jerks like us to do the same thing, beer in hand talking about things that most people would never notice?
What makes us spend all this time thinking about them, their engines, brakes, setups, tires, coming up with ways to make them go faster and look better?
We should get in them and go to work, going from point A to point B saving fuel, safely, comfortably. Instead we widen, lighten, modify them so that they become louder, more uncomfortable, more dangerous, faster...
Why can't we stay a day without them, why do we have to tell a friend and show him a hundred pictures of the new modifications we made?
Why are we not the only ones?
That friend does the same thing, goes home and thinks about it too. He parks and turns back to look at it.
What happens when you meet another cool car on the street, whether it's a cheap or a million-dollar car...
You can't control your neck.
So why not create a tool that helps all us Petrolheads to find each other, without having to go through conventional social media that are full of things we don't care about?
Something free and fast that allow us to get to know others like us, who want to do the same things and speak the same language?
But what is DriveMob app about?
First of all, you can use it to mind your own business on the couch, scrolling through motoring pictures, finding out who has the same interests as you. A Tinder of motors, where instead of doing certain things you go out driving.
A Need for Speed Underground in real life, using the map, as in the legendary video game. You can see all the cars online, in real time, whether they're parked in your neighborhood or hundreds of miles away. You will also be able to see who is driving around at that moment in Madrid, Berlin, Paris--anywhere.
If you're abroad, with DriveMob app you can find out where cars and motorcycles are lurking so you can go to random meets in other countries, too.
Go online to the map, search for users in that area, and go driving together.
If you change your mind, go offline and no one will know where you are in an instant.
If you forget to go offline the app will do it for you after a certain number of idle minutes, but most importantly you can set a "Dark Zone" of adjustable radius in which you automatically go offline as you enter.
This is to protect your garages, so no one will ever know the exact spot where you put your car back after driving it.
In the garage you can post photos, record the sound of your engine, go browse other people's garages virtually, and like other users' cars.
That would be enough to be the perfect app for us enthusiasts, but there are two other things you can do:
1 - create impromptu or scheduled DriveMob events by simply pointing on the map to the place where you and your friends will meet up with the cars. The GPS will be hooked directly to the meeting point and your car will drive straight to the place without having to do anything.
2 - create a "Mob", a group of users who get together to grow and create bigger and bigger events. The name of the "Mob" that invited you to join will appear in your profile.
If you don't yet have a car or motorcycle to use DriveMob app, that's no problem, because the app also works for people who want to ballast for someone else, or if you are a carspotter, a photographer, you have a super easy way to train yourself to take pictures and videos of the beautiful cars you find around on the map. All of us are happy when they take a nice picture of our car or motorcycle.
Car spotters have a special profile that is not cars and not motorcycles, so all users will know when there is a photographer lurking along a mountain pass or outside a car meet.
DriveMob is everyone's and it's free, so you can sign up even with your scooter, quad or any other vehicle and you're sure to find others like you there, too. There is directly a search function by make or model, you type in the car model and it will come up with all the ones that have signed up, divided by area.
The app is just born, so it's up to you now, play with it, it's our gift to you car enthusiasts
