Why does electric motor overheat - 5 most common causes
One of the fundamental concepts to grasp is that electric motors generate heat during their operation. This heat arises due to several factors, including electrical resistance, mechanical friction, and magnetic losses. While a certain level of heat is normal, excessive heat can lead to motor inefficiency and, ultimately, overheating.

I have a jet model electric bench grinder that just started overheating and losing a little power tonight. I thought maybe the vent on it was stopped up causing it to overheat,so I blew it off and didn't find anywhere that was for it to vent, obviously electric motors are not my specialty. You setting your video If it wasn't getting the correct current that would cause it to overheat.I had it plugged into a shared outlet, ill try it in a stand alone plug next. Thanks for the video

@@ElectricityFrenzy thank you sir that's awfully kind of you I'm sure something will come up that your experience will be very helpful to me. Almost forgot my motor overheating seems to have been caused by it not getting the correct amount of current from the shared Outlet. Thanks again and have a wonderful day

What a joke! I don't know much about electric motors and you didn't tell me anything more than I already know. I feel stupider for watching this! The one photo is of a guy working on a gasoline internal combustion engine. Do you work and or write for the state of California government??
