I don't even listen to hip hop but like, logic tbh has a great personality, like man I love this dude. I've only heard a couple songs of him but he's great. I agree with you do, why is it so okay for rappers to sing about how they are going to fuck a girl or how they are going to smack her butt etc, like fucking give women some respect, we're not a sex toy.
Takumi it doesn't matter. It's just that he's a real rapper. He's not lil pump. Who is garbage. He's not xxx. Who is garbage. Cause he says it once they gotta fuck wit him. Bruh everybody always gotta mess with you even tho nothing is wrong with you fr
To be fair though, that counter argument (i.e. then don’t listen to it/don’t watch it/don’t read it etc) is hella weak. I hate mfkers that resort to using that in an argument.
I know I was talking to the cornballs that be say cliches like he doesn't do it for the money and the same people who think rap is all about money hoes and drugs. Thats surface level mainstream pop music. Real hip-hop which is still being made is still very popular in hardcore fans
he hasnt said anything real since under pressure. I used to be a fan the last 2 albums were corny as fuck. He gave up on hip hop to be a fucking nerd to appeal to 15 year old white boys
Hip hop is become pop which is a cancer to this music literally anybody can be a rapper these days back in the day it was like a it back it was more like an fraternity
Davin Ferrera okay , I've been listening logic since way before the fame. His mixtapes had originality to it. I remember getting multiple friends on to his music because of that but he does talk about being biracial too much. Under pressure was his best studio album imo and I loved the story of his upbringing. After that it was like I was reminded of that in every song he made. Everybody was just executed badly and most of his bars after stardom has been kind of lacking. I love logic but people that like him have to admit that regardless of if he's their favorite rapper.
Emmanuel Harris in 2 projects he talks about it. 2 of the 8 projects and DOZENS of free singles he's put out. idk if you're good with numbers or not but that is only 25 PERCENT of his music. so even if you hate the race message, why does that give you a right to bash the other 75 PERCENT of his music? And Everybody is intentionally about race because he's trying to address it as a problem in society. Nobody faulted MLK for always talking about being black? why? because he was a civil rights leader who was tired of oppression and embraced his race and tried to change the world to make it safe for people of color to live in. Logic is doing the same god damn thing. Just from a mixed perspective. not solid black or solid white. hes tired of experiencing and witnessing oppression even in today's world and he's trying to expose the hate that comes from both sides instead of the typical "whites hate blacks" image. How can you fault him for that? would you rather him not talk about his race and be scared to speak out like so many others of different races who get walked on ever single day? don't hate because he says things that you and tons of other people of color or mixed race, or even whites, are too scared to say.
@@p.atrickclarke almost every cut from him and man first i gotta give props to him cause i thought The incredible true story was a solid 7/10 his best project by far but man, and at that time i thought he had the potential to like do a 9/10 project but things went downhill so fast, i absolutely despised supermarket and coadm like i geniunely think its the worst albums of the decade like god damn i fucking hate that garbage that people call an album
No one should give a flying fuck about what Joe Budden thinks, he was average at his best and now he's a grumpy washed up rapper who has nothing to do other than hating on everyone.
HGHRCLBR people hate logic because he's "an outsider" who goes high instead of low. You don't get to be a "moral example" when you're an outsider, that's you coming in and tossing all that "be good" bull around which already makes people feel small.
TheJuanManny it's true. you can't. I mean idk shit, and I mean jack shit about him, but I really like him..., he's a real game changer in rap..., idek how to say it..., he's revolutionary, and btw, new fan from a little while ago, and I still don't know shit about him, lmfao!, but still RATTPACK! (that I know!) ❤
TheJuanManny It literally gets me triggered when people hate on logic saying he's corny, and trash, without doing any research and only listening to everybody, not seeing the bigger picture of his older projects that were much better than everybody like under pressure. All of this hate he's getting is unnecessary and he doesn't deserve it but I think about 85% have no idea what they're talking about and just base their arguments off their own opinions which is influenced by whatever the fuck they're listening to.
cemetery music lyrically, Logic has many filler lines, but you have to admit that he still has a lot of talent. but I disagree with the original comment. yes, I can respect someone who has talent, but I can’t respect someone who has a talent and decides to put it to waste
@drain bro, stop replying to every goddamn comment talking shit abt logic. it’s like you’re here only to hate on him, and if that’s the case, get a life.
I feel like people only think he's corny because he's postive, I've seen people say the same thing about Kyle too. It's funny to me cause every time I hear it I think about that one interview where he said " i think it's funny how we live in a society where positivity is considered corny.. that's some evil ass shit." And I've realized now that Everybody is out, people claim he's corny cause all he raps about is race but they never had a good reason to call him corny before Everybody released.
I'm not always that way of course, I'm all for positivity, but it's clear that people just don't know what they want ... or at least, they can't handle anything too powerful usually because they have mediocre mindsets
One comment I've seen come up a lot is that he's "white," and the fact that he has a black parent doesn't matter, because he "looks white so he is white." So if he talks about being biracial he's supposedly "fronting"...he's trying to seem black in order to be more popular in the hip hope world, when he's "not black." I think that's ridiculous. If he was just calling himself a white man people would be hating on him for denying that he is also of African descent, and they'd say he's ashamed of his heritage and trying to "pass." In other words, he's not white enough to be white and too white to be black. I think that's a horrible burden to put on a human being who is just trying to live his life in the world. If you like his music fine, if you don't fine, but judging him on his racial heritage is so 1950s it's laughable and sad.
* people complain about logic being bi-racial * * logic drops track about idiots degrading him because of the color of his skin * *"Yeah man, Logic talks too much about being bi-racial"*
I do agree that logic is pretty corny but I still think he’s really good ,I do like logics personality, on the outside he’s like a video game nerd , but on the inside is a person who talks about real stuff , so many rappers just have these stupid get ups that look really gay , logic is just himself, he doesn’t need a bunch of tattoos, or hair braids, or even grills , he’s just himself , and I respect that
People hate him because he doesn't care about the status quo. He's not what they are used to, and too many humans fear and hate what they can't fathom. The fact that he is making dope music that also has a message isn't the norm in mainstream hip-hop these days. Hip Hop hates on him because he is saying things that aren't politically correct to say in the realm of Hip Hop.
Colossians 3:2 Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. No. I'm not. I'm poor, I'm 17 and I have a job because I need to help pay the rent and bills because they don't make a lot. Since I'm 12, my grades are shit because of it. But I don't complain because that's family. I don't like cornballs like logic because they make money of crying to people when you should just man up. Look based off your comments either you're 12 or you're too sensitive and don't know how to handle a different opinion from yours. Either way. GROW UP
Colossians 3:2 Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. Music is entertainment. My type of entertainment is not hearing people cry about the cruel world, I can just go outside or read the news if I wanted to hear that. I hate the "your music got through a lot" type of people, how can you put so much meaning into a song? I don't call it weak but it's definitely silly (IMO) to do such thing. Newsflash, music doesn't help with suicide, TALKING TO SOMEONE DOES!!! Whether it's family or a therapist. Stop reaching
People are scared of meaningful lyrics. Logic is one of the few artists who can openly admit to their weaknesses in lyrical, deep, and creative ways. It's so sad.
People dislike him because he speaks the truth and certain people can't take the truth knowing what they do is wrong and what he's saying is right I like logic
Logic's personality is dope, his music can be corny at times but I still fuck with it. The dude can really rap. I just feel like if he was like a bit more laid back then people might like him more... I dont know. He isn't bad though. A lot of people just like to hate him. It's like a fucking trend to hate Logic.
I love Logic so much. His personality, his music, etc. He is such an amazing person. Logic is actually rapping for a reason. He doesn't care about the money, like most rappers.
Logic is an exceptional rapper, he's not like most rappers nowadays, he has meaning behind his songs, he raps perfectly, not mumble, he is an amazing person in general and always tries to do the best shit for his fans. This ain't arguable sorry.
there is a reason why 1-800 is one of his most popular songs, if not his most popular song. it has meaning behind it, yes it may be simple but it still as more effect to the community than most rappers these days.
Reedy There are a lot of rappers and artists who have a lot more deeper meaning in songs, but Logic is a mainstream rapper which means his music is going to be played more often too and heard.
WHAT👏🏽DOES 👏🏽BEING BIRACIAL 👏🏽HAVE 👏🏽TO 👏🏽DO 👏🏽WITH 👏🏽ANYTHING he raps about his life and about equality he's a positive person. Literally every other rapper sucks all they do is talk about girls, money and gang gang gang every video has either money girls expensive cars their basically bragging about how much money they have like no dude he's positive why do people not like the fact that he's trying to be positive in his career and trying to connect with people he doesn't base his career of money and girls like all these other rapper people get mad when he spreads his truthful lyrics and he's not afraid of what anyone thinks he's gonna tell you everything whether u like it or not logic is spreading LOGIC and people these days NEED IT
Zaniah X Thank youuu‼️ people keep trying to tell him what race he is but his dad is BLACK🤦🏽♂️ He's so positive and happy yet people manage to hate on him.
hes considered "corny" cause he doesnt follow the trend. he is an actual hip hop artists who pays attention to his lyrics and beats and everything. he makes good songs that have meaning and that doesnt fucking idolize terrible things. but people are too busy trying to get lit and listening to shit rap that they dont recognize the true talent. not just Logic too, many other rappers.
joe is just an old angry man that likes to hate on others who are getting more clout and success than he ever did. He feels that he deserved more than someone like xxx or playboi carti because he was signed to eminem and that should have entitled him to more fame and success. truth is these newer guys know what their fans want and give it to them
You logic fans sound crazy logic is considered corny he doesnt really rap about anything and overall is generic and corny. That new logic was like all lives matter the album let alone the fact it wasnt really even good plus yall say that its better than ppl like lil uzi vert or some drill/trap rapper but it really isnt at least those dudes can make music where u can feel something. Logic is probably the worst mainstream conscious rapper
Im Killer You're white and you don't like black culture so you think everyone a part of it is ignorant. Next time be less obvious with your ignorance mkay.
I remember seeing the Joe Budden thing a while ago. That shit pissed me off. He's a big figure, and for him to get his facts wrong not only made him look bad, but made Logic look bad.
A lot of people actually go based off what Joe said since they think he's a credible source. Unfortunately he got all the facts wrong.. Can't take what he says seriously now.
Woah woah woah see you can't disrespect Joe Budden like that he really is speaking the truth he might've had it a lil wrong but this past album that's all he did was in black I'm black I'm white I'm white like okay bruh we get it now please stop talking about your race and actually rap this album was honestly not something I'd listen to ever again but Joe Budden's credibility will always be there seeing as he's one of the few people who actually will give people's music a chance plus he also tries his hardest on Everyday Struggle to talk about real rappers and not just wack rappers or bullshit ass things
If you listen to the entirety of the album, Logic raps about quite a few different things. In Killing Spree, he talks about social media and it's influence on society. In 1-800-273-8255, Logic raps and sings from the perspective of a suicidal individual, and a phone operator of the Suicide Prevention Lifeline. In Anziety, Logic literally raps from the perspective of personified anxiety, and then proceeds to shed light on his dreadful experience with anxiety. He does speak on race quite a bit on the album, but the whole album is most certainly not about him being black and him being white. It's also important to highlight that Logic is indeed biracial, and that there are exclusive struggles that come along with that. He's never been *this* vocal about these issues before, which is a good thing, honestly. Joe Budden made a legitimate mistake saying that Logic has had whole albums about his race. Joe Budden is still somewhat credible, but this mistake made a lot of people turn their heads away from him.
Honest to god, I've never heard shit about Joe Budden until I watched this video. I don't wanna hate, but who the fuck is Joe Budden? I think there might be a logical reason (no pun intended) why I've known about Logic longer than this Joe guy.
El Taco everybody wasnt very good and there are some tracks where he just repeats being half black half white... i dont think hip-hop hates him, but his last album was corny. the song about suicide for example, its a really serious topic and he just shouts WHO CAN RELATE trough it..
El Taco i agree, but it was way too much on Everybody though. He is a great person, great lyricist & a great entertainer. But he is still human, and humans are prone not to be perfect
I don't see what's wrong with him saying 'Who can relate' He is saying that in the song to appeal to those who relate to the situations he is talking about in an effort to spread some positivity towards them in an attempt to help prevent a suicide
To me it seems like rappers who have fun with their music are seen as corny which is I just think is ridiculous cos that’s what makes an artist unique when they throw their personality into a track
Old logic is insane even up until Bobby Tarantino. But Everybody album just has a totally different vibe and logics become a meme at this point. His old stuff proves he's good but his new album isn't so great. And this is what people who stumble across him see. Also his first projects are on SoundCloud and youtube so I doubt many people will go out of their way to listen to them
Charlie Horse yeah and if his next albun is his last, it will be upsetting. he said it would be a celebration album and a celebration album isnt gonna top under pressure. oh well
tlm gfh yeah I mean Im cool with him spreading positivity and all but his older music is what bumps the most and it was about his life and how badass he is lol. Hope he impresses with this next album
I was honestly shocked how the media viewed logics new album. It was number 1 on the charts for a while yet so much fucking backlash. People getting mad cause he talks about his race, and politic, and his view on the world. I loved his work but i grew angry how the media portrayed how he was. Ive been with him since the young sinatra mixtapes and this was finally his time to show the world who he truly is. I should have known this world is built on hatred of others.
I just will never understand how people can hate on others success. Just because he's not "mainstream" or rapping about money, fame, women all the time makes him corny? People need to understand that there's an actual message in his music as opposed to mainstream media rappers. I like my share of Future, Cole, Uzi, Migos, etc. but he's being compared to them when his work is completely different. Apparently spreading a message of posititivity is a "meme".
Everybody was a prime example of this shallow rhetoric. The suicide hotline song exemplifies this. "I feel alone and I just wanna die" blah blah. Cmon man. I'm 100% sure it goes much deeper than that. Also, at one point he goes "Who can relate?! WOOOOO!!" Like you're talkin bout suicide and you're getting hyped off that lmfao. Everybody is absolute trash and is the most disappointing album I've heard in ages.
MrCdiggity that wasn't what the song was about. It's about PEOPLE in general not just about himself. He was reflecting on how alot of ppl feel when they Are going through a rough time. You shouldn't be so quick to judge something or someone if you're not going to really listen or pay attention to what they are saying. If you don't like him than don't listen to his music. when it comes on the radio switch the station
James Wilcox his greatest weakness to me is his bars are simple, he the most simplistic complex rapper so when he tries to talk about deep topics it doesnt always work out
He doesn't fit your 'image' of a rapper and his songs don't objectify individuals, praise drugs or alcohol, and he doesn't make his audience idolize gold chains, fancy cars, etc. He's humble, laid back, and plays video games! The songs he releases are powerful, meaningful, and aren't ones that a parent would, let's say, have to ban their child from listening too! He's a true artist- only truly artists have haters.
I think one reason, which I'm guilty of, is that big fans like myself are always talking about how goddamn DOPE Logic is haha. any time I got the aux, its a logic song lmao
I've seen a lot of Logic fans bash other people for not liking Logic which is crazy to me. Logic is my favorite artist but I'm not gonna cuss someone out because they don't like him.
BlackySpeakz yeah that's true, everyone is entitled to their own opinions. I just don't understand why people wouldn't like it haha...like his flow is always on point and his songs make sense...their loss I guess
BlackySpeakz I do agree with the reasons, but the last is probably the most true. ppl think Logic is corney beacause he isn't the "stereotypical Rapper". But Real recognize real @ the end of the day. If you spit some real shit, either ppl f with it or they think it's trash. Logic is one of the few artist whose a straight shooter, and ain't with the craziness of what Hip hop has become. It all comes down to, do you make dope music and do your fans like it.
Kai Hicks You put it perfectly. But what can you do man. Hip-hop has always been like this. It's simply a scene for the consumers to either like or hate what they hear.. It seems like a lot of people like to do the opposite of loving nowadays since everyone has a cell phone and Internet connection.
Honestly, I feel like he's looked upon as such a pussy because of his rap. I mean of course dumb asses don't understand the MESSAGE, but his rap is kind of older hip hop too. I think that, although his music is older hip hop mixed with modern techniques, people look down on him for not making some meaningless mumble bullshit.
Logic is more about real life type music, and not fantasy, I’m not offending anyone, I mean he’s sort of like Eminen, in my opinion there’s no point in flexing things, it’s gotta be, like “ I change the community” and not MONEY changed me, and I admit we all can get carried away with money, but we gotta stay humble and always remember that we started somewhere. #startedfromthebottom
I just heard about him very recently and I like him a lot. I've been watching a lot of interviews that he's had and I think what he's all about and what he' stands for is awesome. It doesn't matter what "hip hop" thinks. What matters is his fans because the fans are the ones paying to listen to his music. I'm going to be straight... I really don't like hip hop these days, I miss the hip hop when I was growing up in the 90s. That shit was awesome, so I don't listen to hip hop these days, especially when I don't know what the hell they're saying because they're mumbling their words. I can't understand them at all, maybe that's just me. Lol. I've been hearing Logics music on the radio lately and I liked it sure. But then after looking him up and finding out what he's all about, I can appreciate him as an artist and his music so much more. I think he's talented. Their is always going to be haters. People always have something negative to say. It is, what it is. I give him two thumbs up 👍👍
Logic is a dope rapper. I loved all his mixtape projects. As for his albums I only liked his debut and second but his recent one is not great and I'm sure there's some people that will agree. He sounds too politically correct. I also think the reason why he brings up being biracial in a couple of his songs is because he wants to be accepted by black people. It can be annoying at times because it's like he's wants to drill it in your head that he's half black and half white.
Yeah, the only song i like on Everybody is 1-800, everything else is just pandering to the SJW, black lives matter type of people and takes a lot of open shots at white people, which he hasn't ever done.
Speaking as someone who is biracial, I can tell you that it has a colossal effect on you mentally, whether you want it or not. It's a huge part of you because throughout your life (especially your younger years) society will constantly remind you about it (for better and for worse). There is no escaping it, so naturally all that built up resentment/awareness/sensitivity about it will bleed into your artwork.
The problem with Logic is how his music quality has degraded over time. I use to love Logic. In fact Welcome to Forever is possibly my favorite mixtape of all time. It has great samples, good lyrics, and is very creative with each track being fun and distinct. Logic use to not try very hard and just make fun music and I think he did a great job with it. Now he is just way too try hard with every song needing some kind of message or story or 3 minute interlude. Just rap man and make the good ole music like the Young Sinatra days. You can't listen to his old music and then play his newest two albums and say his new stuff is better. As a long time Logic fan I hate to say it but I really don't care for his music anymore. It's bland, boring, and too preachy. Get back to the basics Logics, your OG 2012 fans will appreciate it greatly.
I respectfully disagree at-least about the replay value. Sure his new stuff is more real but I don't listen to rap to get preached about important topics. If i wanted that I'll go to my professors, listen to the news, or go to church lol. But everyone has their own opinion and tastes and I respect your preferences. Tic tac toe and the spotlight will always be my jams.
I like Logics personality. He's very positive and doesn't try to be something he isn't. He doesn't wear flashy clothes on stage and he let's a fan on stage every once in a while.
logic has flow and we positive rappers neva get the proper recognition we deserve in my opinion MF hate what he can become because instead of following treads he's a tread setter who doesn't follow the crowd the question that should be asked is why does every mumble rapping SOB sounds the same and for the last ten years why doesn't these MF neva change there sound instead of doing what the last solidified rappers has done in the past for me its just too much club bangers and drug related music out there Logic is a one out of a million anomaly so deal with it
One of the criticisms I've heard of Logic is that for every good bar - whether it be touching, emotional, complex, interesting, or whatever - he has another that's intellectually vapid and rhymes for the sake of rhyming (i.e. he's a lyrical miracle rapper), and either uses words that make no sense within the context of the song, or strings together big words that overall have no meaning And honestly I feel like there's nothing wrong with lyrical miracle shit - Kendrick does it a lot, too (a few parts of his verse on the THat Part remix, for example - which was a really good verse, mind you). I personally don't really listen to Logic that much, so I don't really have an opinion either way, I'm just repeating what I've heard
As someone who has actually listened and understood his lyrics from his projects thats pretty much it. Dude above is full of shit or doesn't actually follow the words being said. He covers up a lack of lyrical ability with a fast flow and basic punches.
i feel like he kind of stopped trying to be lyrical he used to put out fire in his older projects like undeniable and under pressure, but then he started to keep everything really shallow and especially on his most recent album it seems like he just focuses more on how it sounds and doesnt try bc of the fact that the song is about a deeper topic
Arguably one of the best poets of all time literally invented words to create rhymes (William Shakespeare). Logic may not be perfect, but I think for the most part his lyrics are very solid.
Because he speaks about truth not agendas the hip-hop media spreads to us these days with a weful people like pink and Nicki Minaj etc. They hate him because he hasn't sold out yet
ItzSpanky I don’t hate him myself, I just don’t like his type of rap, I dislike him but I’m not gonna call him trash. I think a lot of mumble rap fans don’t like him.
I don't hate logic, but I do think he is over-hyped. You listen to someone like Kendrick Lamar and can know that he is calculatedly influencing the world, both musically and socially. He's doing new things with his production, lyrics, and flow that haven't been done before. But beyond that, he's intentionally doing those things to forcefully change the way listeners think about not only society but music/hip-hop itself. Then I hear so many people saying Logic is one of the best, when he's just excellent at building off of existing styles and flows. Lyrically, he's preaching values that are commonly spoken, and don't address the complexity of the issues he's addressing. For example, it's known that saying we should be "color-blind" is unproductive toward the issue of systemic racism. I see Logic as the "color-blind" preacher of hip-hop.
