im not a expert in anyway about this subject but with my teeth the only reason I get a bad odour is the trapped plaque between each teeth that's all no gum disease or bad filling.

Good evening Dr. Been told after a visit to the dentist that need to get my upper teeth removed completely and put a denture. He says I got gum desease. I was devastated cause I got deep cleaning a year earlier.. He told me that another deep cleaning wasn’t going to do anything good already.

I super hope you got 3 other opinions before removing the teeth. Especially because implants are better to prevent bone loss. I am not a medical professional, this is not medical or legal advice, but I personally always get a second (or 3rd!) opinion now whenever something doesn't make sense to me.

I had a dentist more than once file down my teeth both sides and the bite. I regret that now that I know it was filing away my enamel and resulted in an increase to tooth decay and faster. I needed a mouth expansion instead, but never got it. Now I do my best to seek different opinions before I allow that again and now I am probably too old to get an expansion now that my bone has fused and done growing.

spent 1500 on crown just for it to be a food trap and dentist will not replace tells me go to a prosthodontist for a proper crown. also new crowns can leave behind cement if not removed properly which causes fetid smell s

This has also been a problem for me since getting a new crown. My previous crown which I had for years was sealed perfectly but it looked ugly after years so I got it replaced for a nice new one but now I've been dealing with a strong sulfur smell when I floss. Dentist replaced my crown for a second one and I got a dental cleaning. The smell is still there. I feel like it just isn't sealed properly but there's nothing she can do and she says it is sealed. She said she's never heard of anyone with this problem. Are you still dealing with food getting trapped? I feel like that's what's happening with my tooth. Any insight on this issue would be appreciated!

@@elizabethcarmon6210 He referred me to a prosthodontist but will not issue a refund even if the prosthodontist says it is faulty. And even if the prosthodontist fixes my occlusion (bite fells terribly off) there is still a need for either the prosthodontist or periodontist to do a coronal extension (remove gum tissue). In my case and probably yours, there is a violation of the biologic width where the restoration is too far into the gumline and some gum tissue needs to be removed (coronal extension) and the crown reset. I don't understand why general dentists are incompetent and do a procedure and then when it fails, they then refer you to a specialist but you are finessed out of thousands with no refund.

@@elizabethcarmon6210 Could be a violation of the biologic width which requires a coronal extension to solve. The problem is dentists won't refund you for a faulty restoration they did. So you would ideally go to a periodontist /prosthodontist for advice/procedures, as general dentists seem to be incompetent at anything that requires complexity and they'll refuse a refund even if a specialist acknowledges the restoration is done improperly s. I would go to a prosthodontist first since they specialize in restorations.

@@elizabethcarmon6210 My last two replies didn't go through for some reason. But basically there is something called 'violation of the biologic width.' It requires a coronal extension to fix and a pocket can form around/under the gingival margin. The shape of the crown can also cause food to trap if it is not fitted and placed properly between adjacent teeth. I would go to a prosthodontist first since they specialize in restorations but you may need to go to a periodontist too. General dentists can be incompetent when it comes to things that involve any sort of complexity. Even if the specialist acknowledge the restoration is faulty the dentist will still refuse to give me a refund.

Can you do a video on how to use a tongue scraper. I see reviews but didn’t see “how to” I’m sure it isn’t hard. Also how often to use. Or how about a good dental hygiene routine video, like brush and scrap in the am, rinse with “x” then after each meal be sure to “x” and “y” then right after dinner do “z” and of course do “xyz” before bed, and then 1-2 times a week be sure to “x”. “This is how you give your mouth the best chance.” Something for that I would find helpful and I can’t seem to find content on.

ADepends on what you eat or how long u go without flossing. If you floss everyday it won't smell
